- Let's talk about what to do if you feel like you're always broke! Becoming wealthy, achieving financial success, living life on your own terms - these are all things that many of us want for ourselves when we think about our futures.
The reality is many will never actually realize their dreams of becoming financially successful, but not because they can't. But because sometimes people behave in ways that don’t promote their financial success, often without even realizing it. They sabotage their financial futures, ensuring that they stay broke… pretty much forever.
Building wealth is about putting in the hard work, planning, consistency, discipline, and accountability and very importantly, maintaining good money management skills - regardless of your current financial situation or how much you currently earn.
If you are in the space where you are always broke, I'm sharing 9 key tips to help you get over that feeling and start turning your finances around!
It requires is intention, focus, and a plan but if you are ready, you can go from broke to having money in the bank and a solid financial plan for your future.

Admire that. I have a terrible problem with all of those.
Thank you so much for this:)
So awesome I would love to learn more on how to save
What I've learned is to pay yourself first.get in a budget.and move like like your broke.dont live above your means all things I've changed about 5years ago and so far so go.
As a woman of color this channel has really helped me in so many ways as I was not poroperly educated on finances one thing I’m sooo glad my mom told me was to not get into credit card debt from her experience and I literally only have 2 credit cards that I pay on! My goal is to really take hold of my debt 2022!
The stop competing piece is so true! I see so many people gathering material things for NO reason other than to say they own it.
I don't feel broke. I just go into panic mode when my funds become lower than what I would like it to be.
Thanks for the tips...sidenote: you are very pretty!
Ashley is right! You are very pretty! And your tips are great!
She's very feminine too...
She is"very beautiful
These guys commenting how beatiful you are, they are unfortunatley training on Springsteens song I wish i was blind instead of taking responsability for their money !!. And yes I agree you are a very Nice woman.
I second this statement.
Love the background setting! Excellent content as usual. Thanks!
Thanks for watching Paula!
Thank you for this amazing guidance! I especially love and appreciate your focus on mindset, habits and taking action (even small actions) - these are so key for me! This video is so appreciated, thank you 💖💖💖
Thank you for your advice😘😘
It’s not that people are “acting” in counter intuitive ways… it’s that majority of people are in poverty and there is NO way to escape it if you have to pay rent, car notes, etc. you have a better chance of getting rich when you don’t have to have responsibilities
I think this is fair perspective to take into account for building wealth , and I also think there is always a way to be in a better position then you already are . For some people building wealth just comes more quickly and for others I think it just comes more slowly but in whatever circumstance you are in there are opportunities to build more wealth in someway and that's always worth listening to.
This is so very true. I’ve been used to going out to get a different car once any signs of problems start to arise…now that I have changed my mindset, I have literally purchased a good, reliable vehicle that I’ve owned for 8 years now with no car note and I am so happy. Do I want a new car? Absolutely! Do I need a new car? Nope. I’m saving my money and spending it on other things that bring more value to my life, especially since I am working from home during the pandemic.
@@nikkiknows1545 Same! I was planning to buy a car on 2020. I paused it cuz I’ve been on Home office for two years. I cook more at home, spend less on transportation, etc.
@@adriancarrillo2749 That’s exactly what I’ve been doing too!! 💪🏾 It’s hard at times to not buy something on impulse but we can do it.
@@nikkiknows1545 I even lost 35 pounds eating more at home and with some exercise. It’s been a win-win haha. It’s great to know we’re not alone in this journey.
Rewatching this to keep me on track!😀👍sending love from Sweden 😀❤

New sub. Love the way you explained everything. I am working on self discipline this year, and stop shopping unnecessarily. Yes, I can do it.
Yes you can do it. Yes You Can!
Your content is so clear true to life easy to follow and be inspired by. I have personal experience that when you stop thinking of your money as being small and just get into the habit of putting it away it becomes a joy to see it grow despite the small amount.
Yes yes
Your place is so beautiful, amazing. Thanks for sharing.
I got paid every 2 weeks. A coworker/friend used to borrow $20 every week before payday. Every payday she repaid the $20. I just kept the $20 in my desk to loan to her. I tried to get her to save for retirement. She always said I don’t have the money. I told her to invest the minimum $25 each pay period. I told her she wouldn’t miss it and if she did I would give her the money, not loan it.
In a moment of weakness, she signed up. After a month she came to me and said you’re right, I don’t miss it. Another month later she stopped borrowing the $20 a week before payday. Six months later she came in excited, she had saved $300 for the first time in her life. Two years after she started, she said “I have $1,200+ in my retirement account that I saved. For the last 18 months, she had stopped the complaining about how she was always broke. She was self confident, happier.🎉 I was so happy for her. It’s amazing what $12.50 a week did for her life. It actually was more like $8 because of tax savings. Oh and I never had to give her the money as I promised.
There is a Federal Retirement Savings Contribution Credit (Saver’s Credit) Form 8880, towards retirement. It is for low income earners. But, hey, everyone starts somewhere.

Eradicating fear is key. 🙌🏽
I love your anecdote about driving to the bank to deposit $1....
*Powerful! ✨💫
It IS worth it. (-Also, quit listening to OTHER people, because someone once told me that it WASN'T worth it!!! 🤔)
However, if a house is on the market for, $600,000 and you only have $599,999 can you still pay for the house?!?
-(the extra $1 will be the determining factor and has to come from somewhere, so, it IS worth it...!)
Portia Webb thanks so much for watching!

Thank you for the tips 😊
Thank you. I almost completely depleted both my checking and savings/emergency accounts due to.out of pocket health expebsed over the course of a year, and now haven't been able to work overtime because of being a caregiver for parents. I just feel horrible like everything I gained and sacrificed for was for nothing. Now I have to start from square on again and do the basics: keeping to the budget, saving a certain amount no matter what even if seems small, and not beat myself up. And be consistent more important that wowing myself. And not feeling ashamed and worrying about if I look unsuccessful to others. I can only control what I can control, and if I take responsibility, there's hope and I can keep my chin up. Your support is so invaluable. I just feel better listening to you because you really understand people's financial and emotional issues and are so supportive and practice and wise
Great practical points.

What about the people that work AT the mall? 😅 As a young adult I worked at multiple stores inside the mall and would literally give all of the money I earned back just to shop. Which led to me having so much clutter in my home which I’ve just now gotten control over years later!
Thanks for sharing this!

You are so right. I made so much money last year as a pharmacy manager. And I literally only have a few thousand to my name. I recently decided to put 2k of that 3k+ in a high yield savings account with synchrony at 4.01%. Debt and bills are so hard. No matter how much you earn.
