@Vinnie Ger I can see exactly why they did it. They are setting up the Young Bucks vs FTR for ALL the belts. The only reason they won’t do it at All Out is, because Kenny Omega is coming back and the Bucks will be involved in that storyline. The problem is that now that the Briscoes have lost twice, what reason will fans have to watch ROH when they do get a tv deal? Gresham was soundly defeated. The Briscoes have now not only lost twice, but the second was a 2 out of 3 match. So any juice they could have had for a lengthy tv program between the two tag teams is all but down the drain. Which means they’ll have to find something else to put on ROH TV to make fans want to watch.

They probably ran lowell cause its a cheaper venue compared to anything in the bigger cities like boston. Plus tony khan knows that as of right now roh wouldn’t draw as many fans in like aew. It saves him a few thousands of dollars by running a smaller venue.
I imagine Boston /Worcester was scheduled already plus price. Njpw also ran in lowell. I think it was 2/3 full... But from what i can tell it was bots that got a decent amount of tickets. So that may explain that
The Briscoes should have won this match. If they are truly headed toward a TV deal, this could have set up a lengthy program deserving of these two teams, leading to a rubber match with far better promotion and story, leading up to it.
Briscoes should turn heel on the AEW crowd and say that they are going to beat FTR on their home turf as payback. They cheat to win twice 2-2, and then get the titles off Swerve and Lee, and then FTR beats them in the best of 5 to win the titles. That's how I would book it!
@@indiesongwriter5474 I'm with you as far as the Briscoes turning heel on the AEW crowd. You have to have them win though. If not you're burying them so deep they won't be held in as high regard as wrestlers as they are now.

In the press scrum Dax was saying cornette can go ahead and sh*t on him cause he's earned that right but, Dax, cornette is never going to sh*t on you. FTR is just too good
I think that the way to get a best of 5 with FTR and Briscoes is this: you have the Briscoes debut on AEW and immediately turn heel on the AEW fans. They were beat by FTR on their home turf and now they want to return the favor. They have a new game plan. This time they cheat to win. They cheat again to win against FTR again, even though FTR wins against every other team. Then have The Briscoes best Swerve and Lee for the titles. Let The Briscoes have a run where they avoid FTR and say that basically they beat them twice, get in line. Meanwhile The Briscoes can go over all the Babyface tag teams like Lucha Bros and Jurassic Express and The Acclaimed and whoever else. Eventually you have the best of 5 with FTR going over them to win the belts
Finish with a steel cage tag match. I never see those but the arcade game WWF Wrestlefest was nothing but tag matches, including cage matches, which look really cool in the game.
@@anonamatron Better yet, add in the Young Bucks-FTR feud thing, have them get involved, and then have a 3 way elimination tornado tag match in a wargames style cage like MLW's War Chamber, have it be for all the belts, then the Briscoes or FTR win, Young Bucks get Eliminated first by the Briscoes and FTR temporarily working together to remove the interloping Superkick addicts.
@@stigrabbid589 Speaking of elimination, I thought it would have been cool to have an elimination match instead of two out of three falls for the ROH show.. it'd still be two out of three really. My favorite is whichever one they did where all Survivors of the matches had a final match, and it was like Hogan, Warrior, and Tito Santana against DiBiase and a bunch of heels. The Briscoes have now not only lost twice, but the second was a 2 out of 3 match. So any juice they could have had for a lengthy tv program between the two tag teams is all but down the drain. Which means they’ll have to find something else to put on ROH TV to make fans want to watch.
@@segagenesis7708 exactly. You realize the Briscoe Brothers has got over more on Impact Wrestling, defeating the Good Brothers for the Impact World Tag Team Champions and on the National Wrestling Alliance, winning the 2022 Crocket Cup, than the promotion their actually signed to in Ring of Honor???
wish I could have watched it. its too bad the ROH event wasn’t on the Fite app. I wasn’t even aware there was an ROH event until late Saturday evening. the event was half over by that point.
That pile driver was dope🤯 i don't trust anyone else to attempt this in any company
@12:33 this is a common FTR spot. They used it in NXT for big PPV matches when the title was on the line. Good to see them still use this
12:24 yes I totally agree this match was great but I don’t find holding the others hands so they don’t tap as brilliant. If you’re making it look legit, shouldn’t you be doing everything in your power to get out of the hold or get to the rope rather than just taking your fate and holding the others hand?
Unintentional callback to diy vs revival?
@@totallykoolyeah oh that wasn’t unintentional. That was a planned callback
u have no idea what ur talking about obviously.
I put it down to the story they were telling.
The proper booking could be : Put the ROH belts on the line, only. Give the Briscoes the victory, they are full time ROH anyway. Sets up a third. Or at worst, figure out a way to do a draw.
Briscoes had a second fall during the downed ref sequence which is probably the lynchpin for the third of a possible trilogy
l was barely familiar with FTR prior to their arrival in AEW. But good damn, l now see what Jim sees in them. They are every bit as good as The Hart Foundation was back in the mid to late 80s. That ROH match the with the Briscoes was everything wrestling should be. l was glued to my TV that whole match.
Not sure how the crowd looked on ppv but I was there and thought the crowd was hot as hell especially in this match
The crowd was into the show. I was at the show, dunno how it came off on tv but they were into the show. I think it was a decent mix of newer fans from aew and old roh fans
Agreed. I was there too, def a mix but knowledgeable folks. I think the middle was people just on pins and needles
@@thommysaraceno2862 like that dragon lee/rush match had people hollerin at some of their spots lol. Def not a dead crowd lolol
@@FFmaxxx Lol - truth lol

@@JackgarPrime 😂😂😂 truth
I was there live, the crowd was hot. Must not have been mic’d very well. I haven’t seen it back yet
This was one of the best matches I've ever seen
The Briscoes are the most slept on tag-team in wrestling the past 5 years.
They aren't that good
Way to show how long you've heard of them, they've been slept on since day one, That's 20years, Not just 5
They are homophobic so they don’t belong in wrestling
@@cryogenixoldskool5803 They weren't nearly at the level of performance they have been for the past few years back then.
That's like saying Hogan was around since 1978, but he wasn't at the peak level until 85
Jim not knowing how to use sound effects is hilarious
I love that Jim always takes up for the Briscoes. Dem boys are my boys
Been waiting for Jim to talk about this one.
Been waiting on this
“They used a convicted bank robber who mentioned that he was under the influence of the drugs he was addicted to at the time that he robbed a bank, but they put him on television”
Beautiful line lmfao
I disagree with Jim. The Briscoes were definitely working heel while FTR were working face
Lol literally hit them with the bell lmfao
i dont think thats what he meant necessarily, i think hes saying that neither teams have been established as heel or babyface in this feud
Briscoes didn't start working heel till mid way thru the match so lol
Briscoes didn't start working heel till mid way thru the match so lol
@@birdmanhero but they were clearly heels even if it started even. Alot of matches dont nessisarily have to start with heel vs face you can establish it later on.
1:33 - THIS!!! It's mind boggling! So many wrestling fans have no fucking clue what they are watching, but still think they are experts.
This match was awesome. I really enjoyed it
I was there live - the middle part the crowd was on pin and needles and quiet - but they fucking loved every second
It was undoubtedly the greatest tag team match of FTR's career. In terms of technical ability, character work it was flawless. This is what wrestling should be.
i was there at lowell and it wasnt even close to being sold out which reflected how the crowd didnt seem "lively"
Dax’s promo at the end got me hyped and emotional
this was a fantastic match
Most work Paul Turnner has done in over 5 years. Great! Great! Match.
Travis should of drawn jim doing that pacha's "when the sun hits these hills just right, these hills sing" face
Jim trying to get his soundboard too work. 😂
As someone who was in attendance, there actually were a lot of people unfamiliar. This is because the arena is owned by a college, so a lot of college students were there for cheaper tickets
In the summer?
@@totallykoolyeah students still get discounted tickets
I ve never had such an experience before, watching every minute of a 45 minutes match in sheer captivation.
Well thats good but you should just be watching WWE! guess where lesnar is?? Wwe! Not aew or roh! So if you want and love to see him you need to just watch WWE! These other companies aren't good man. Thank me later i like SATNAM SINGH only if he goes to wwe
@@ASCUMBAGWh0re strange you re assuming i havent watched brock
@@brianel-khoury885 im saying you should ONLY watch brock. AND WWE. No better company than them. Understand? Hope you'll listen
As someone who was in attendance the ac was intermittent and it was HOT. Also building was slightly above half full. Not sure why they ran Lowell but I got to see one hell of a match
So that may explain that
@@FFmaxxx The njpw show you're thinking of was a different building in Lowell. Fun show, though.
@@JackgarPrime yeah i should have added it was a block away lol
@@needsaride15126 yeah definitely, I would have them be dominant and go straight to the top of the division with an undefeated streak
I love it when Corny presses wrong sound effects buttons!
I assume that glass breaking sound effect was a rip-off of the David Letterman pencil toss through the window...
Corny spamming the sound effects on Brian had me dead af of all things 🤣🤣🤣☠️☠️☠️☠️
First match my wife has watched since I started watching. She said this was wrestling not the flipping doo da crap on tv usually
It's interesting to hear the contrast between two broad camps in this business (in no particular order):
1.) The Cornettes, Funks, and Harts of the world who value the purity of wrestling, the psychology, and the work.
2.) The Grahams, Captain Lous, and Nash's of the world who believe that if what you're doing is over, it doesn't matter if it's good wrestling.
Both groups value good selling and acknowledge that it's sorely lacking in today's product.
chris jericho drunk in the olive garden would have been the perfect thumbnail lol
Best Tag Team match I've seen in years. Delivered in every way. Me and my family were popping so much for it. Haven't seen the family pop this much for wrestling in years. We were all into it pulling for FTR and when they won we threw our hands up. Felt like watching old WWE, cheering for our guys and going nuts. We all loved it. We loved the wrestling between both teams. The drama and passion. It was magical.
Wrestling fans referring to themselves "popping" is cringeworthy AF.

@@SpiralPoli fans using wrestling terms is cringeworthy tho. Theyre being such marks. I hate to sandbag their ego but no ones gonna put the strap on them anyways. Bunch of wannabe jobbers.

7 stars from me! What a match…. AGAIN!
Best tag match I've seen in a looooooooooong time.
That match was glorious.
Can't believe Jim didn't mind the kickout from the ring bell, that was absurd with how perfect that head hit was but no, idiot just kicks out.
This match was unbelievable I loved this match
Hey Corney! On Dynamite 7/29/22 Jericho stated that Chuck Taylor was comparable to Bobby Eaton. How insulting!
Did anyone else notice the sign in the background at the start of this match?
"Retirement before Dishonor"
I love both teams but I think The Briscoes should've won since they just signed a long term contract with ROH......
You need them as champions to re-start the company & get a buzz going.
This was the match that proved why i Love Professional Wrestling just wow FTR 7 Stars hell yeh just Amazing i was watching the match and was like oh jesus that looks like that really hurt and u could see they where in a Fight. And The Briscoes just Amazing love them.
Wasnt that crowd a bit small? Or at least it appeared to be
No more black bars on the Chanel art?! We finally went from 4:3 to 16:9 😭
We've entered the HD Era at last.
With both teams in Ring Of Honor, we can, hopefully, get more matches with these two great teams.
It’s an old building just renovated. Great place to watch wrestling.
@3:51 He hit wrong button 🤣😆
There was only like 60 people in the crowd to watch this match how loud did Jim think they could get
This match was just brilliant
Helluva match!!!
In the press scrum Dax was saying cornette can go ahead and sh*t on him cause he's earned that right but, Dax, cornette is never going to sh*t on you. FTR is just too good
I keep hearing this, so maybe it didn't come across well on TV, but I was in the building and it was a good crowd. Deafining at some points even.
I really liked Survivor Series, back when it was actually Survivor Series matches. I wish they'd do more elimination matches like that.
My favorite is whichever one they did where all Survivors of the matches had a final match, and it was like Hogan, Warrior, and Tito Santana against DiBiase and a bunch of heels.
I guess they thought that was boring because there were no title matches or something, but that's WHY it was cool... It was something different, like the Royal Rumble.
I've never seen the one you mentioned but maybe that's cool... I'll look it up.
The best match on that show the other week. Now we wait like 4 months for the next roh show 😂
Something square came out of my brown balloon knot last night. Randy Marsh, would be proud... Atleast 70 Katie Courics...
Good match, liked the first one better though, and I didn't like the kick out of the Briscoe's razors edge neck breaker move
If it’s not over enough for you to know that it’s called the Redneck Boogie then it can be kicked out of
@@bertonspat129 haha touche, though I am not the best barometer for what's over or not, just an observation based on eye test of the match - it was a sick move and seemed a disservice to kick out of it
The more ridiculously devastating the move looks the more likely it is to be kicked out at 2.97
I just watched it on UA-cam. Easily the best tag team match I’ve seen and certainly the best match I’ve seen since the rock vs stone cold at mania X7
Also the commentary was amazing, and on a random note, am I the only one who was quietly hoping for a double count out at one stage which would have left the scores at 1-1-1 after 3 falls and requiring an extra time final fall.
The best wrestling match of the modern era!
Great matches like this inadvertantly expose just how far and away better these guys are compared to most of the AEW roster.
This match didn’t make sense because a couple days before the match Tony announced that he signed The Briscoes to an exclusive ROH deal just for Tony to keep the ROH tag belts on the AEW guys. Just doesn’t make sense to me.
The middle rope Piledriver was incredible and I would say whilst it’s a risky spot I think it works because it needed the match. I remember MJF hitting a middle rope Tombstone on Sammy and he kicked out and it felt a bit wrong. Now, MJF sold his knee and took his time to cover and then took even more time to bring him up so they did try their best with something that shouldn’t have happened.
With Vince basically gone, Trips will push tag wrestling more and FTR will return to WWE.
seriously, that sound gimmick has added so much to the podcast
and I'm sold on the match, I'll go and watch it somehow
I loved when they were playing PA announcements from Woodstock.
"If you need medical assistance please see Dr. John Beck, his office is the blue house next to the Citgo on 17B."
The only angle that could get AEW ratings like Punk's debut is Jim managing FTR
