See, this is something that deserves a remake. It has a great premise, but a lot of flaws and limitations based of it's 1959 release date.
It was actually remade in 1995.

@@KRhetor You don't have to be rude about it. The only reason why old movies like this should be remade is so younger audiences who never heard of it, get a chance to become fans. Plus by making a newer version , ensures its survival. I personally am annoyed by the many remakes Hollywood has been making. And feel if they are going to do remakes, then they should go for old classics that need a modern twist done.

And based on what I see here, it's not like the story can stand on it's own without good or at the very least, satisfactory kills. You clearly intentionally misinterpreted my comment, which I think is very dumb. Also, I was born in 2004 and I love many movies that were released before then, dumbass. My favorite movie is Scream (1996) which is definitely older than me. [I also love The Fly, Pet Sematary, IT (1990), The Craft, TCM 2, TCM remake, Jeepers Creepers, Final Destination, the entire Child's Play franchise, Interview With The Vampire, Hocus Pocus, etc.] If you're gonna try to tell me that this movie lived up to its full potential in the sfx/gore department, you are lying to yourself.
The fact that this movie set up the course of events that eventually lead to me being in a production of Little Shop of Horrors… the world is wild

I've always enjoyed this movie, even though it came out six years after Vincent Price basically used the same "artistic methods" in House of Wax (1953).
And speaking of Vincent Price, Antony Carbone (the Yellow Door owner) was also in The Pit and the Pendulum (1961), another Roger Corman flick with a screenplay by Richard Matheson.
Furthermore, Vincent Price starred in the first film adaption of Richard Matheson's "I Am Legend", a novel that undoubtedly provided some inspiration for Roger Corman's Last Woman on Earth (1960)...starring Antony Carbone.
