I am srsly tired of seeing the comments complaining about the foundation shade. Guys it’s just East Asian preference ok? No one is ever saying a word at westerners preference in making their skin look super TANNED with their foundation (using darker foundation shade with yellow undertone while they have pale skin tone with pinkish undertone).
East Asians prefer lighter skin tone because it was formed under the perception of the higher class have better skin since they don’t work hard under the sun. Lighter skin tone also give a better contrast to their features, so they deemed to be more “better looking” in their beauty standards. So what am saying is, it’s basically the same thing, westerners wanna look tanned because it was developed under the perception of being rich enough to afford holidays to be bath in sun.
Regardless you’re Asian or westerners, aren’t we all the same? Pls be respectful to everyone culture ok
The woman in this video is already light skinned. You didn't need to write all that. Also colorism is not the same as white people wanting to be tan, so you REALLY did need to write this whole essay to try and justify colorism at all.

I'm several universes ahead by criticizing BOTH practices. Just because it's part of a culture doesn't mean it SHOULD be. We very well may question the reasons behind it and once you do you realize both practices are nit just preference
Both practices are hurtful. Peopke have damaged their skin by tanning and people have damaged their skin by whitening it.
I don't care much about asian girls using lighter foundation if they want to- But a lot of them probably have to because they can't even find foundations dark enough for them, I think we should acknowledge the fact that beauty standards soecific to a coyntry can be harmful and that applies to all countries. I've seen stories of people in Asia who can't get jobs because their skin is considered too dark and they end up having to bleach it just so they can work, + the fact that asian makeup brands don't have a wide enough shade range for their osn customers is sad, it's not fair that people have to force themselves to fit into beauty standards even if they don't care about them, specially a beauty standard that originated from classism.
Also yes, american celebrities DO get criticized for making their skin look tan, I've seen people criticize the Kardashians and Ariana Grande because of that for years now.

Try using a CC cream instead of foundation!
A nice moisturizer base , water primer and washing your face before makeup does wonders :). Id recommend a green tint primer
I do both these things but alas :( I need to find a green primer that REALLY suits

It’s the Dior forever matte foundation. It’s pretty pricy since it’s a luxury brand, I’ve tried the glowy formula and it performed really well. Hope this helped!

I've been following this channel for a while and it's so sad to see them posting makeup tutorials only for fair skin like come on now their bio says "east Asian beauty content" But they're forgetting a lot of people aren't pale white in East Asia
This channel pretty much just aggregates and translates makeup tutorials from Chinese social platforms -- they don't create their own -- so their coverage is completely skewed to Chinese content. I'm not on any of those platforms, so I'm not really aware, but are darker-skinned beauty influencers popular there too? I know darker skin is seen as less favorable in their culture.
@@foxinazul there are darker skinned influencers, but just not as much since the majority of east asian people have lighter skin tones.

err ... because a lot of their video are just the translated version of chinese/east asian videos? the source based on east asian beauty standard so what do you expect?
These makeup videos are reposted, dearpeachie can’t control which foundation shade they wear. It’s funny people just can’t stop highlighting Asians preference in lighter skin as “obsession” and saying statements like “painting their face white”, while westerners are also “obsessed” with their darker foundation shade and busy getting their skin tanned with machines.
This channel has tried to be more inclusive recently in their self made videos but y’all get irritated every time they post a makeup tut
