What a beautiful video! I only saw Ireland flying over it in a plane, and it was amazing, bright green cliffs bathed in bright sunshine. Goes so well with the song. Thank you! :) Wish I could find some equally sunlit aerial shots of Skellig Michel :)
This is all round wgere i,m lying in bed sick - Mussenden temple above downhill beach, also carrick a rede rope bridge! Mary is from rathlin island jyst opposite
Very beautiful and moving version of this song by Mary Black. For Bonnie Prince Charlie, the misfortuned prince, dead of despair that ruined his life for not being able to recover his kingdoms.
very beautiful, but I also like the one where she is singing in a hall with an orchestra. That is also great. Both versions have great stateliness and dignity, I feel very strongly, although I do not know any Gaelic at all.
This really is one of the best versions I have heard, along with other versions by Mary Black, which are also very good in a different way. I think this song can be performed in several moods equally well. There are some songs that have that quality.
@@ShatteringIllusions1 I agree, but performers are free to recreate songs according to their circumstances. The version by Celtic Woman was created by David Downes and is really the opposite in feel from this version. What can one say? We just have to find the versions we like the best.
I can't get over how beautiful this is.
The only song, that can console me. I feel understood in my deepest feelings.
very helpful to have text and translation. likewise a beautiful version of this wonderful song

Mary is from Dublin. Her father, a fiddler, came from Raithlin Island.
Love those scenes of Ireland. Spectacular country.

If you find the original concept of the song, it has to be a lament.
Other that that, I agree
this is Mary Black.
