Remember back in the mid 90s my dad had a rare 309, 1.6 S.R injection and it was a brilliant car. They were quite rare as well you’d see plenty of 1.9 Gti’s on the road but not many S.R Injections. The Injection was in red, alloys exactly the same from the 205 1.6 GTi, his was metallic silver with the slide back sunroof, my dad was always racing and beating XR3i’s XR2’s Golf Gti’s and his most common drag race foe was the Orion Ghia 1.6 Injection. He used to leave them for dead at the lights lol. At 70 now so a little old for boy racing now, but he did love that car. Now he has a boring Nissan 4x4 thing😏
The XU, the TU, the Simca, the Douvrin...all supremely reliable engines (we'll ignore the TU's slight tendency to blow head gaskets). Terrific cars. I have a Douvrin-powered 205 and it's lovely.
Good to see the 309 again! My 405 is still sat on the driveway awaiting its new axle but I put a new battery in last year and she started first try! Got to love an old XUD.
XUD's are bullet proof! I'd love a diesel but the low emission zone is get too close to comfort! The place I go for MOT will even be inside it soon...Thanks for commenting :)

Sorry the video was so short...It was cold and I was in a hurry to get to the virus transmission centre...Sorry 'Supermarket' I still have the original Clarion head unit...But I parted ways with tapes a long time ago...haha!!! There are crossovers for the S-Types in the doors and an amp under the dash...Another one on the sub. Nothing special...Just better than what the car came with. Thanks for commenting!

@@88GTi you’re welcome! I have just bought a Peugeot 106 1.5 xnd. The steering is a bit like a boat and the brakes are questionable. Is this normal would you say for the year? 1996
@@bucketheadothers2384 I have driven a couple of 106's. (Including a 1.5 non turbo) Completely different drive to a 309 or 205. But the brakes and steering were fine. (On the ones I drove) I did have real trouble with the tiny pedals and nowhere to rest my left foot when its off the clutch. Yours must need a little work. But before you do...If the rear brakes are out of adjustment it will give you a soft spongy pedal, try going in reverse and braking hard a few times...This is how you adjust the rear brakes (If the adjusters haven't frozen) If you're mechanically inclined they are very easy to work on (Unlike new cars) And parts are plentiful and very cheap on eBay.

I was rather hoping you would be able to make a video of you driving Norma just like you did with George and the 205 previously. I also still want to see George's Talbot Horizon engine 😁👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I will be very grateful if you get the chance to make those videos in the near future. I'm amazed to see a fox outside your house lol!!!.
I will do Liam...Georges engine is lovely and clean, but he's sleeping right now and hiding from the foxes. Norma is a great car to drive! I forgot how nippy she is...We flew to Lidl this morning and I'm just about to put her back to sleep before it rains. Stay well! I'm sure you still remember that I want to see a video of you inside and driving Norma just like you did with George and your 205 and opening the bonnet of George, I absolutely 100% believe you that George has the Talbot Horizon I just want to see it myself because I love seeing the Talbot Horizon engine as I'm sure you still remember. ⚙️⛽🛢️ Things in my world are okay as life just goes on. I'd be very grateful if you can roughly estimate when you upload that video driving Norma and opening the bonnet with George. If you see a very rare and endangered Peugeot 309 in the UK the my suggestion is renting of the garage and buy it straight away. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😊😊😊🤗🤗🤗

They have a strap that goes under the car and one on each corner to tie to the wheels. I've just had a look and unfortunately they are currently out of stock...But they do have the larger sizes. I paid about £28 delivered for these. Search eBay for 'Chameleon car cover' I'm sure they'll come back in stock soon. Everyone needs a Fox protector! :)

Alpine S-Type in the place of the rear standard fit speakers and a 10 inch Cadence Ultra Drive Sub and amp in the rear. All done 15 years ago. JVC head unit with AUX and USB. (4 x 50w) Extreme budget build but it still sounds great! No holes cut in anything :)
Standard right up to the Back Box which is a stainless steel Magnex made for the 309 back in the day. My GLX is a 1.6 but it will fit 1.3 1.4 as well. Same back box for all of them. I won it on eBay a long time ago...For £16. What a bargain! :)

There's an F-reg beige 309 1.3 GL a couple in a nearby village where i live. It's done 42k from new and runs very well.

Standard right up to the Back Box which is a stainless steel Magnex made for the 309 back in the day. My GLX is a 1.6 but it will fit 1.3 1.4 as well. Same back box for all of them. I won it on eBay a long time ago...For £16. What a bargain! :)
