I bought my first Bulova late in collecting, passing them over as a “has been” brand. After getting a precisionist, a hack watch, and this American Clipper, I couldn’t be more happy for the value of the watches in the brand.

As someone who wears a suit once a week, this would be a win for me if it were a 38-40 mm case with a hacking movement. I have a 6.6” wrist so this thing would look like my g-shock gd350 on my wrist lol. It sure looks great tho, love the silver dial. Looks amazing
Teddy + dress watches = always a winner!
I have a more sport style American Clipper (with a bracelet, blue dial, a separate seconds dial at 4 o’clock and a small see thru dial window at 8 o’clock). I grabbed it off of Woot for about $100. Great value. In particular the bracelet is way better quality than a similarly-priced Orient
This is exactly what I'm looking for.
No bezel to speak of and a white dial means it will "wear" (I don't like that term) larger than it's already huge 42mm.
Yeah 38 or 40 would be perfect.
Overpriced, you can have an oriënt bambino, symphony or maestro for much less. They'll have better movements and at least the same level o finishing. Don't get me wrong, Bulova is producing some very good looking watches, but their prices are not competitive for the movements and materials they're using.

Does anybody have an idea of whether this watch case is plated? Or actual stainless steel? Says it’s stainless but I have a hunch it’s plated.
Is there an aftermarket band with a butterfly clasp upgrade that you know of? I would like to get it in brown

Holy cow 42mm/ almost 50mm wing span what a shame because it’s a pretty watch otherwise.
Just picked up a Bulova Regatta on clearance from Kohl’s for $93. As a beginner, I’m not too keen on “what’s a deal” or “what’s cool” in the watch world, but I couldn’t ignore a $300 watch for $98. Plus, I actually like the way it looks. Just hate the strap 🤢

Get a replacement strap! There are several brands, but I like those that have quick release lugs (you can swap bands out with your thumb nails!). Barton is a good brand, and it's real leather (or canvas, or silicone among other options) for like 30 or 40 bucks

If You don't care for hacking, You pretty much don't care for accuracy
I like Bulova watches, but this one - it's nothing special. I have one chinese watch - Cadisen with sapphire glas, Seiko NH36A inside (hacking) and size! - 40mm. Total cost - 45USD - looks similiar to this Bulova :/
Might well be mistaken for a fashion brand or a very simple piece bought for under 25 bucks. Always struggle with 30m WR. Too big and will wear big. Inelegant lugs. Titchy crown. I'm afraid it's a no. Bauhaus is minimal : this isn't Bauhaus.

Look like bulova not selling very well. Some of their limited editions cannot even sell finished after 1 or 2 years.. Guess too much limited edition = no limited
I do not know, maybe I’m searching something wrong but 99% of all reviewers talk about watches for men. As result I know a lot what to buy for my self but do not have any an idea what to present for my wife.

There's female versions of the same kind of watch. You could Buy one for yourself and the smaller version for your partner, that way You'll both match

Agreed. Price to large to.
50mm lug to lug on this? I think this is a big miss from Bulova. Nothing takes away from the elegance of a simple dress watch quite like being too large.

As always, an expertly crafted review Teddy......BUT....
This one is a complete loser for me. Way too large for a dress piece, a derivative design, no water resistance to speak of, no hacking etc. I honestly would expect to see this type of piece with these specs from MVMT, not Bulova.
Bulova's automatics are always like this... their MSRP is almost double what it should be.
He probably only made this video because he sells the watch and it has an abnormally high profit margin for him.

I really don't want a Bulova automatic. I want a Bulova with that sweet 262kHz Quartz (with sweeping second hand!) in a 40mm (or smaller) watch that DOES NOT look like a dog's breakfast.
Exactly, 40 mm., thick only 5,6 mm. I chose the black dial with rosegold to have much contrast so i can see at least without my glasses what time it is. Only €130 euro in Germany.
