I am happy with my 2024 XL Maverick. It has the Ecoboost engine and is averaging between 28 and 29 miles per gallon. I don't need all the extra's many people seem to want. My truck has cruise, trailer hitch, full size spare, and a rubber bed mat. For about $25,000, I think I have a very good truck.
Which city you bought it?
One of the most informative video I have ever watched. The Maverick works for me. Thank you!
ALWAYS buy the tow package no matter WHAT vehicle you buy
BECAUSE-
Tow packages include additional cooling which comes in handy on a blistering hot day driving across the desert.
!
Car and truck prices have been outrageous lately, but the Maverick felt like a breath of fresh air. I ordered a Lariat in October, and I'll have it by the end of the year. I enjoyed this review. You touched on everything good and bad from bumper to bumper honestly, clearly, and concisely. Thanks again!
Is that for the hybrid? Just curious as I'm trying to get a estimate timeline for my car (just ordered today) 😅
@@theforruner117wait times for the hybrid have been the longest! Don’t be surprised to wait over a year.
@@theforruner117 I ordered a 4wd XL around Christmas time. I was told 3-4 months. Ford sent me an order confirmation email and said they'd send updates every 45 days. As long as I get it by next fall I'm ok with waiting. I'm driving my two winter beaters this winter and have a '23 Camaro for the summer.
I ordered my hybrid in late Dec 2023 and was told zi should have it in Apr 2024. ???
I heard dealerships will sell your reservation so keep tabs on that
Maverick owners love their trucks and I'm happy for them congrats mate
What a great video and what a great truck. Thanks so much! The Blackout package is a definite must.
Look forward to your next video for sure!
I picked mine up on december 22. Hot pepper red, with tow and awd. I couldnt ask for anything more. I love this truck. So far ive been able to do anything my f150 was able to do with better gas mileage. It was only $28.3k as well.
WOW, Ford Motor Co. should be using your video for a full review on a Maverick, very complete. The best one that I've watched thus far on this truck, nice job Sir.
Great thorough review! Thank you for taking your time to make it
No prob, thanks for checking it out
Super good review, man. Thanks!
Most vehicles with 2nd row seating have floor vents that blow air when the floor button is illuminated. 13:37
Awesome video! I’ve been torn between the XLT and the Lariat. Keyless is a game changer for me! I have a keyless Lexus and a Jeep Wrangler and I loathe digging in my purse for my keys when driving my Jeep.
Thanks so much for such an informative video! 😊
Got a 2024 on order (scheduled to be built 12/18) and that is one feature I was super pissed they did away with, the keypad on the door to get in the vehicle. Always thought that was a smart and convenient feature. Getting mine lariat, bap, new azure grey color and canNOT wait for it to come in! Nice thorough video
Same here
Nice review bro!! See ya Monday!
Love the review... I look forward to my Lariat with the Black Appearance package of course getting built and in my hands in the next several months (I hope).
Thanks dude, I was in the same position a few months ago, it's worth the wait.
Nice review. A co-worker just got the same model/trim and he loves it. Nice presentation.
Great review, thanks 😊
Went to my local dealership to buy a black AWD XLT but only had them in grey and light blue. But the salesman told me the only black Maverick they had on the lot was a lariat with the tremor package fully loaded for $40k. And since they didn’t mark over sticker and I had the A plan I decided to make the commitment. Was a lot more truck than I wanted but I’m extremely happy with my purchase! Plus the gold tremor trim on the grill and wheels makes the black maverick look more aggressive compared to all the others 😁
Exactly the same truck I'm going to purchase once I sell my F-250 and my Travel Trailer. Question, is the front passenger seat a power seat? Wife says she has to have it.
@@587G no the front passenger seat is not power operated. You have to manually pull the bar underneath to adjust the seat. Only the driver seat is power operated
Awesome review
Dang this guy was awesome.
The best video on this I’ve seen, literally exactly my way of thinking.
Thanks for checking it out!
I have about 1500 miles on mine now, didn't get the Lariet because I thought the same thing about the seats...have almost the same truck as you just no power rear window, loving it so far!
“You don’t need this package”; “cheap, even faker leather” - love you, man. Nice review. Beautiful truck. ❤
You obviously don’t have kids. Yes, you need Lariat seats with kids, unless you are going to do a seat covers.
Best 24 Mav video
Nice ride im sold
Hi, I live a little northwest of Toronto, I have a 2023 Maverick Lariat like your's but Alto Blue, no BAP. I switched from a 2012 manual Focus (I still have it). I have had no issues with my sync system. Yes the XLT may be a better deal but like you I will be driving the Maverick for 10+ years so for me the Lariat is worth the extra money. Great review.
nice review, might have to get one
Awesome review, your getting better and better every upload.
Thanks fella!
I bought my GMC Canyon last year, I really wanted the Maverick but they were all allocated at that point and I couldn't wait. I love the size and design of the Maverick. The Canyon is "fine" and I did get the Denali package which is great but the ride is very truck-like. But $40K is a tough sell for the Maverick...but it does look great, great job.
How do you like it
@@bobafatt2155 I'd be curious as well. The Canyon is a gorgeous truck, but I can't justify the cost of one.
@@bobafatt2155 just coming back to this...sorry. I love my Canyon, we are actually looking at a Maverick (long story...good story but just long). I think the fit and finish is better in the GMC but it's definitely "a truck" as opposed to the Mav more car-like with truck features.
@@eafc2112 Yeah the Maverick is more cheaply made, which is fine since it costs so much less. It gets harder to justify as you add more options.
I too have had my bluetooth drop a few times, but it's often only been for a couple seconds at a time. A couple of those times it's gone back to the radio, but I can't complain since my previous vehicle used to do the same thing from time to time.
And yes, it's nice not having everything controlled by the touch screen.
Love my similar set up too! 😊
On my 22 FX4 XLT LUX 4KTOW I have had radio problems freezing, dealer reprogramed once still happens sometimes but is much better no big deal. love the truck only have 9k. I keep my driving gloves in the cubby. I also love the heated seats and steering wheel never turn them off great if you have a bad back. Another thing I love and have never had before is the brake hold works great at lights...
That $30 seat cover is awesome. I think I spent $35 on mine, but I have a dog who is the sole occupant of the back seat, and small suitcases wedged behind the front seats. The under seat storage is the shizz! I own a 2022 Maverick EB-FWD XL.
I just got a 2024 tan tremor a few days ago. I love it so far.
Fellow Michigander with a Maverick- the weather mats are an essential feature id say, super easy to wash off the winter salt grime, sand from the dunes or beaches, dirt from the trails etc. They just keep the floor pristine (after two years there’s zero wear for me) and they look great! I agree that a bedliner of some sort is a must if you plan on using the bed (which idk why you would buy the maverick if you weren’t going to use it). I found that the paint does scratch very easily
I used my Ford Points to get some all weather mats. Definitely not as nice as the Weather Techs I had in my ST but for $10 shipped I can't complain. Definitely a must have.
I did the same. The Ford " Maverick " mats are definitely not as nice as the WeatherTech or Husky mats. Wish l had gone w/ WeatherTech
Well done sir
Great review .I have a 2022 Lariat with all the bells and whistles. I even went for the sun roof. This truck is awesome.I agree that the auto start stop is a bit to get used to.Only thing I think I will change is the wheel a tire set up.The tire it came with are not the best for snow.
I was wondering how the stock tires were going to perform in the snow. I usually run snow tires, I plan on buying a separate set of wheels for summer.
Any ideas what the biggest and widest size tire I can fit on my maverick?
Absolute best review I've seen. Guess I could be accused of confirmation bias as I have a Hot Pepper Red MY2024 Maverick Lariat EB 4K BAP Sunroof on Order (Lux/360Assist/SprayIn/AWD area all std for MY2024). So a near twin of yours that you reviewed. 😂
That is a great spec! I love my XLT AWD lux 4k 360 I show in my content from Park City, but your Lariat will be next level. Do some videos, I will sub!
Thanks dude I truly appreciate it! You're going to love the mav
@@XSRDetroit It's being built right now! Whoo Hoo... Can't wait.
The black package also gives you black seats in place of the brown seats in the Lariat. $41k and Ford can't include a 25 dollar auto dimming rear view mirror with home link? Sad
Great review! It seems every review I see talks about that little cubby next to the radio screen. No one knows what to do with it. What in the world was Ford thinking with that? lol
My buddy just bought a new escape with a 12' screen which coincidentally is the same size as the Mav screen with cubby, I assume they went with a 10' to get the truck out instead of sourcing more 12' screens. The cubby is just dumb haha
Funny thing about sound systems in cars. Im coming from a 03 marquis. It will sound like a dream
I have a 2017 Nissan Titan 4X4 with 90K+ miles. Though I love the truck, it's more utility than I needed.
I appreciate this review as I am now considering trading it for a Maverick w8th the FX4 & max tow. Thanks for the fantastic review!
I live in the metro Detroit area as well and I’ve never been pulled over for tints. I know some of my friends have years ago in certain cities but luckily they don’t mess with us. I’d be pissed if I couldn’t have tints.
I think that the Detroit area police departments should have more important things to be on the lookout for instead of pulling people over for tinted windows 😂😂. Seriously.
How about 100,000 mi
hey man wanted to let you know, in that cubby next to the screen, theres a 3d printed Phone mount that sits in there and it is absolutely awesome, perfect little mount for your phone, I use it to watch stuff on break at work alot.
Thanks for the review ! Your phone/camera/etc., was constantly going in and out of focus....Hard to keep looking at it that way... Learned a lot from you, and I thank you again for that !
I put the wiring harness in for that start stop it took about 2 minutes was about 95 bucks Works fantastic
B&O is one of the best systems on the market. It uses 360 speakers which are huge for audiophiles.
That is my exact build!
currently own a 24 mustang & it’s not a good fit for me anymore. Looking for a mid-size truck. Colorado/XLT/Lariat/Ranger. Your vid helped a lot.
Great overview. Do you transport your kayak strapped in the bed or on a trailer? I'm actually able to transport my 11 1/2 ft kayak inside my Ford Flex with all seats down, but I'm looking at a small to midsize truck for my next vehicle and the Maverick is high on the list.
I've installed a roof rack for my kayaks but I've had three 10ft kayaks in the bed before. For a yak your length you would probably be fine using a hitch kayak extender
Dude, 90% sure you live around the block from me. I look at your truck everyday I walk by. I'm looking at scooping one of these up myself.
I was going to go with a new maverick or a slightly used ranger and I just picked up a 2020 white ranger lariat with the black appearance package, tow package and fully loaded with only 8,300 miles for only 33,500! Used truck prices are finally starting to come down because dealers aren’t selling enough cars. That also goes for full size new trucks, prices are going to drop soon because no one is buying full size trucks with the outrageous prices.
That's a great price dude!
Great review, and I’m sold on the Black Trim package if I wind up getting a Maverick. It looks so much nicer, and Ford knows it - so it’s $1600.
Yeah it was a must have for me, looks too good.
I always thought the price for the BAP was (mostly) the cost of the wheels and different seats.
Great review, is the front passenger seat a power seat?
It isn't
I wish ford would have painted the door handles & tailgate handle on the xlt and up. Looks so cheap with black plastic handles.
I have the Hyndia Santa Cruz,I kind of like this Ford Maverick.
From what I have seen on youtube…I would only recommend towing short distances….the engine is small with a lot of stress from the turbos
My only concern is where to put the dog. I was hoping one of the back seats lifted independently so I can add the kids booster seat and have the dog beside now I wouldn't have the SUV trunk space for the pup.
What about undercoating on the maverick?
Uou can change the remote start settings to remember last settings
Did you mention how much the LineX cost for it? I ordered one and opted to try and find less expensive then factory Spray in
I paid $590 out the door for mine
My perfect '23 Mav Lariat Hybrid has 2900 miles and one oil change.
I wish ford would allow you to add the premium sound system to the xlt ranger and maverick.
Does the blue interior seem odd with the red exterior?
WTF heated seats costs extra? It is included in my soviet Lada for 13k.
For the Lariat trim, those work truck "leather" seats are not acceptable in my book.
Great review the only thing I disagree with is it being a quick truck. It is a fast truck. It’s a a golf gti with a bed. I’ve smoked so many off the line in sport mode with the AWD. It’s a sleeper hot hatch killer. Maybe the lariat is a fatty 😂 I have an XLT.
A big plus with this maverick and probably other Ford products is that you can do just about anything for free through the Ford app. You can remote start unlock the car, check mileage, check oil, etc..no subscription none sense.
6.5s 0-60 isn’t fast. Not everyone on the road is drag racing either.
@@CombatpzmanThe Mav Turbo AWD on my videos from Park City is fast. When the warranty is up I plan on getting a tune to over 300 hp.
I just got mine today (xlt with 2.0L AWD) and either the impression of quickness (how you feel it) is the slowest ever, or my Hyundai Tucson actually is faster. I heard they were peppy and without flooring it that doesn’t seem to be the case.
I have model a 3000 me you would love it
Seems pricey to me. Got a brand new (6 years ago) 2017 F150 3.5L Ecoboost 4x4 Sport Off-road with super-cab that hauls more and fits more for thousands of dollars less. Looks like a great truck - but seems about $10K overpriced.
11:45 I thought you were listening to Tool at first.
How could anybody possibly make 3,000 mi review
Ford has always built a Great truck!. That's all I've ever bought. No that I'm older, I no longer tow. The EcoBoost is is powerful.
The Maverick is actually an entry level truck. It could be an exit level truck as well..
Makes a great bug out vehicle too.
I got the XL which now come with carpet. Unusual for Ford.
I was excited to see a truck under $22k when these first came out. But now configurations innthe higher trim was closing in on $40k+... that puts me out.. yes i know a bare bones is around $29k if you can even find one
I am still in search for a dealership in Metro Detroit that will sell the Maverick without a markup.
Give Blackwell Ford in Plymouth a call. I didn't pay markup although I ordered mine. I'm seeing a lot more Mavs at the dealers now, the hype has gone down a lot now that these trucks have been out for a few years.
@@XSRDetroit thanks! I will try Blackwell. I actually ordered a 2024 with Taylor Ford but I don’t want to wait that long.
If the seats can heat, why can't they cool?
I was disappointed there wasn't a seat memory setting. How annoying has this been for you?
Car thieves know when they see a Ford with a keypad that there is a good chance to find a key/fob inside. With a window breaker they are inside in 5 seconds and look in the console/glovebox/under front seats and are gone in 15 seconds. Stupid thing to do.
Yes, of course. Never lock your keys in the car. Thieves will find them. But… the keyless entry is a great feature. I just turned my ‘07 Explorer for a ‘24 Lariat & I miss that feature.
@samuelbutterworth4303 Sooo you’re saying that just seeing a key pad on my Maverick thieves are gonna break the window expecting to find keys?
$40K....crazy for a $25K girls truck.
I live in Florida so those seats wouldn’t work down here
I'd pay a max of 24K for that model. Hopefully next year when the entire auto industry melts down, these will be affordable. At 40K the Tacoma is a much better value IMO.
I looked into Tacomas, it's definitely more truck for your money. I figured since I bought the Mav to move motorcycles around I'd go with something more comfortable on the street.
Good luck finding a new Tacoma for $40k
In my area I don’t tend to see new Tacomas for under about 38k for the 2 door. Want a 4 door? 40-42. Want extras? Pushing 45-55k. It’s absurd as hell. It’s not as dumb as a 40k Maverick, but if people will pay it the predators will charge it.
Hard to believe anyone would make a 3,000 me view unbelievable
Couldn't agree more, Jim. 3,000 miles is barely a milestone...
I hate My Mavericks constant Ford monitoring. That damn screen keeps popping up, WHY Ford!
Great review, just a side note, I believe all the trim levels come with a hitch preinstalled without tow packages, atleast my XLT hybrid did as well.
I'll bet you women don't have problems trying to figure out what the stick in that damn hole next to the radio even if it's tissue paper
I do have a '24 XLT
>Paint is thin
>Quality of trim, interior to be more precise, is abysmal
> Head rests aren't comfortable, at least to me
>
Good to know.
Having a wrap put on it, may be a great option to keep the paint in new condition.
Maverick owner here appreciate but 3000 me review is nothing
This is more of a first/initial review, I'll do another video in the future. We'll see how it holds up after some serious mileage.
Black edition and still blue plastic 🤮
Yeah, it's not right...they really need to fix their interior color scheme it's awful
Your sick that not funny
Are you joking
4000 lbs sucks , a Honda Ridgeline hauls 5000 lbs
Apples to Oranges. You are comparing a compact to a midsize pickup. But if you want to compare, a Ford Ranger which competes with the Ridgeline can tow up to 7500 lbs when equipped compared to the Ridgeline's 5000 lbs.
3000 review are you joking
Heard you the first time bud 😂
3000 mile,,laugh
$40 k for that?? You must be kidding me. Maybe $20-25. It’s. It not truck it’s a car with a bed. Ford has been screwing customers for years now it’s time for the customers to screw them just don’t buy. Let them sit on all their cars and trucks till they go out of business.
3000 me review are you joking
Maverick great truck video waste of time
get over it
20K truck for 40K, NO THANKS. 🥱🤔
3000 me review are you joking
