Thanks to @colby8018 for suggesting this video.
Edit: In future videos I will make the text in the diagrams larger, did not realize they would be so small.

Wish off side players could be able to get the ball if it hits the field. They her and stop the play. Still be a penalty but by 5 yards, not 15.
Making No Yards be 15 yards overall is ludicrous imho.

In Canadian amateur a kick from scrimmage does not have to travel 10 yards to be recovered. It can be recovered anywhere by an onside player as long as they advance the ball past the first down marker or are already past it. If it's 3rd and 20, punted and recovered legally by team A 5 yards down the field, it must be advanced another 15 yards so a first down is gained otherwise its a turnover on downs.

Sorry…to clarify I know it didn’t have to go 10 yards to be recovered…I was thinking in terms of this particular type of recovery. It sure seems that this interrupts the continuity of downs as the Football Canada rule book only permits an exception on true dribble kicks.

I love the inch kick over the line of scrimmage and hope they keep it, however, how could you possibly defend against it?
If it's a punt under 5 yards long, and the defense needs to give 5 yards, doesn't that mean the kicker is all but guaranteed to collect it unimpeded?

The defence doesn’t need to give 5 yards. It’s a punt, so it’s to the defence. The offence needs to give yards.

I don't know... for me no yards and onside recoveries aren't that hard to understand.

They aren’t, but there aren’t any harder ones I don’t think.

@@cflhighlights9370 to be honest, rules are not that hard if you're interested in the game.
