Actually from your comment no, no you don't understand that. Either way these guys are, in my opinion, MUCH more fun to watch than the Donut guys - nothing against them but they aren't at all my cup of tea and I suspect from the success of the channel and this series others agree.

You guys are really making something nice happen with all of these extra guys and involving yourselves so much. It's not like "we dropped it at the shop and they fixed it up for us", it's: "we got down and dirty for 2-3 days working on this, eventually we had to give it to the shop because it's just out of our expertise, but we did most of the work". Really adds a nice personal touch to it that makes me all the more invested. Plus bringing in experts to really give it a specialty touch, with Richard and Duncan being specialists in the field.

      Forged block for 6k is a bit much. You could do rods, pistons and an sti vf34 turbo, not accounting for labour that should work. A ej207 sti engine can hold about 360hp (with stock turbo) with rods/pistons about 400. Depending on how different the wrx ej205 is anywhere between 360 and 400 is possible

    Hmmm... Something seems off with that power number. I've never seen a wrx with the OEM td04l make over like 250whp. That Dyno must either read very high, or there's some corrections going on. You're lucky to make that power on an ej205 with a vf39 from an sti.

    Little tip for next time... If you undid the engine mount nuts under the engine cradle, you would've been able to jack the engine up an inch on the offside to be able to get the turbo up-pipe out from underneath without needing to remove the turbo

    Just a thought but would an E85 tune be a cheap-ish way to increase power even more? I honestly don't know how expensive it is or if it's even possible with your Subaru but maybe it's something to look into. Also I'd bet you could dial the suspension in even more than it already is. Anyway I really like this series and very much enjoy the chemistry between the three of you (and shoutout to Richard too lol). Thanks guys!

      I almost wonder if it will be something accessible with the turbo and front mount. But it is meant to be practical, maybe E85 would make it unpractical given the access to the fuel itself

    • @HotwheelsReviewsGuy
      @HotwheelsReviewsGuy Рік тому

      They're in the UK which means you cannot get e85 at a petrol station. Also if they did they would probably need to go for a flex fuel setup to ensure they weren't just limited to e85 alone. There are more cost affective methods of making power when you consider these things.

    You can chip off the sound insulation using dry ice and a chisel. More expensive than waiting for a cold day, but I've seen "Customer States What" on youtube use that technique in the shop he works at, and he said it worked well.

    This is an awesome series. But since you needed the top mount and the air box out to change the injectors, should have upgraded to a front mount with cold air while you had all that stuff out anyways

    Based on physics, just about all straight through class pack mufflers of equal tube diameter provide the same performance value. When it comes to the value of quality, it’s about the sound DB and the material it’s made of for longevity. Basically, do you want one that is going to rust or not. I wouldn’t waste my time with a straight through glass pack muffler if I’m not going to delete the catalytic converter.

    750cc injectors on a 2.0 wrx is insane, unless the end goal is 400+bhp on a 20 year old EJ205 and 5 speed box?? A set of 550 pinks or 565cc hawk/hatch blues would have been fine.

    Should have gone with JapSpeed exhaust, full system for under £1000, unequal headers, up pipe, down pipe (with either decat or 200 cell high flow cat) and cat back, it all fits too 🤣🤣🤣
