    I think k the big difference in any blade vs grinder disk is that the grinder wheel temperature is much higher. The graff wheel will cut while the other will grind.
    Nice.

    even if it didnt cut too well it's a must. Common grinding discs create airborne fiberglass particles. I used it once at home and had a panic cleanup afterwards. The amount of black mess on the ground was ridiculous. It's pretty much like asbestos plus the burned resin

    If you want to cut fast buy a plasma cutter!
    These discs has a lot of advantages, a lot less dust is a great thing, and so is the fact that they don't decrease in diameter.

    Huh, those are interesting. I wonder how these would do on aluminum.
    I had a pretty hard time getting the standard cut off wheels to go through it, just gummed everything up, so I picked up a aluminum specific wheel (It was pretty expensive, about $4 which is double what I pay for the "heavy duty" Dewalt ones I usually run for steel). It works much much better, but still not perfect. Be interested to see how these handle harder stuff too, like 60 hrc steel or something like titanium.

      The aluminum is too soft for this disc, do not use it for this. Thank me later)

    I'm surprised as well with that performance! Also i'm wondering, does your Angle Grinder turn either way? Or did you use 2 different ones?

    $18 for a cut off disc is steep. Id like to see if it truely holds up to the 3000 cuts they claim. Thats the only way it would come close to being feasible in my opinion

      That's pretty much my thoughts! You can figure a 10 pack of "good" abrasive discs cost between 10 and 15 bucks, so this disc needs to last 12x longer to get your money back. That being said, I buy 10 packs at harbor freight for 7 bucks! I was more shocked how well it cut because the Lenox disc bounced around and cut painfully slow.

      @@1D10CRACY I think this is one I'd hold onto for special uses. If I needed to keep from runining the heat treat, maybe hardened steel, etc.. I've had to go back and cut the tips off of already heat treated blades in the past for reprofiling, and it is a bit of a pain with the standard wheels. You have to go super super slow and dunk it into water after about 2 seconds of contact with the wheel.

    Why didn't you use the Linux disc against the graff disc?!

    • @1D10CRACY
      @1D10CRACY  2 роки тому

      Mainly because I don't like the Linux disc. I cut a lot of metal and the Linux disc is a fail, for me. I'm sure others like it, I don't. :)

    In commercial or factory settings OSHA requires eye protection and also face protection in the form of a grinding/cutting face shield.
