- In January 2020, David Cross was kind enough to show me his significant West Ham kits and boots that had been rediscovered in his loft.

Nice to think that a guy from Manchester who played for so many different teams , WBA ,Coventry , Manchester City , Norwhich , and yet it's West Ham that's closest to his heart . Thank for the memory's David

Great video, great memories and a great player. David Cross, one of my all time favourite players. How I wish we had him now.
1980/81 WHU team performances were full of confidence and swagger. They were only just pipped by LFC in LC Final, and it was no disgrace to lose against the virtual 1982 USSR WC team...
I was at the Spurs game when Crossy scored all 4 goals - probably the best WH game I ever saw !! And I was NOT in the away end so had to remember not to cheer for every goal. Happy days !! 😎

Maybe because he was my first sporting hero as a kid or maybe because I'm getting on now but this era was West Ham for me. It's not my West Ham now unfortunately.
Fabulous Video many thanks for sharing! Great player and true Hammer! There are just certain players that fit the West Ham philosophy and spirit, Crossy is one of them. I have never forgotten that header against West Brom! I believe that spirit remains today and even though many have had doubts about David Moyes he seems to have brought some of that back with the players he has brought in and the way he seems to have the team performing this year. The come back at Spurs was classic West Ham and had "The Academy of Football" written all over it!
Love it...FA Cup Final was such a special special day..Think you would only get that feeling now if you got to a Champion's League Final...Still love to the FA Cup,but in them days,it was the ultimate thing has a fan to lift that Trophy.
West Ham had a brilliant team then - full of gifted skilful players. The Glory Years for sure.
Is it still legal to make that material….. let alone keep it in the house!

The thing about the players from this era that I like is how humble and down to earth they are in contrast the Divas , Drama Queens and unbearably arrogant players of today

Top shelf. Some good dear memories there mate. The old metal studded boot scrappers, LoL :)) the 79/80 season I had the tracksuit only thing was it had no Admiral logo or even West Ham badge on it. Think me old dear got it down the market. I didn't care, I was as happy as a pig in shit. Oh and the shirt that year which was a weird replica snide. Still, claret and blue army. Up the Hammers. 'X'
Remember going to the vast majority of the games in 80/81 & 81/82, and especially the League Cup final & replay. Great days out, but as Psycho said, Liverpool were much better than us in the replay. Wish I'd been at WHL for the 4-0 game, Psycho was different gravy...⚒
