Neo-Nazi Tim Gionet, aka Baked Alaska, was there and has been arrested. Bryan Betancur, a self-proclaimed member of several white supremacist groups, is also under arrest. The idiot wore his ankle monitor to the riot, and his parole officer turned him in to the FBI.
@@GARY84ROCKS So, for something like "racism" it is very easy to confirm because it has a specific definition which is "that which discriminates", easily defining Trump as a racist, whether he intended it or not, through things like his Central Park 5 incident, fake racial statistic tweets called out by Bill O'Reilly or his housing discrimination case.
However, the neo-nazi / far-right movement has gravitated towards subterfuge and propaganda instead of the overt gestures of white klan robes. This is not much different than old-fashioned, German Nazi's or, perhaps, anyone trying to win a war. So identifying a white supremacist is next to impossible and, one could argue, even those that vocally self-identify may NOT ACTUALLY believe that "whites are superior" on a subconscious level but merely wish it to be so or some other psychological trick. Indeed, many at the capitol that day might have believed steadfastly that whites have been and always will be superior yet remain silent about it while some might have had merely fleeting racial thoughts or (dubiously, given their affiliation) never any at all or even believe they are actually INFERIOR to other races making authoritarianism over those other races all that much more important.
Lindsey Graham perhaps said it best: that conservatives like black people, as long as they're conservative. And by that he means "as long as they fit a prescribed role". And I love Lindsey Graham in that he will so often come right out and say the quiet part out loud.

Cecily Strong is the most versatile player on SNL right now. And Cathy Anne is one of my favorites characters - she has a surprising depth.

It's scary to me that Cecily's Cathy Ann actually makes a hell of a lot of sense. When she said that the secret to preventing another insurrection like what happened on January 6th is to put them all in jail, I yelled "Yeah!" She has a firmer grasp of reality than many members of Congress. (Even when she's in the dumpster.)

But every person that took as much as a single step up the stairs of the Capitol was trespassing on January 6th, and should be held accountable. And that includes the moron who instigated the whole thing with his lies about the election being stolen, even if he then retreated inside the White House to watch it all on TV.

Cecily Strong pulls off goofy characters with the same ease as Kate McKinnon. I say there is brilliance floating around her. It can be easy to miss because of the jokes, but the incredible talent can't be hidden or suppressed. One of the best to ever be on that stage.

@@brandonhinrichs4393 I've been watching SNL since the NRFPTP and I will say there has never been a more talented group. The last decade has produced MORE than its usual star-making. I think it started with Will Ferrell's stint and didn't stop. Hiedi Gardner and Vanessa Bayer are as talented as any that have graced that stage. I see them both going sitcom.
