I have owned this exact desk for a year now. Dual motor normal shape and size black and it is by far not only my favorite desk but it is also the cheapest one I have ever bought. I am glad to see you endorsing this product as it is a growing company that can use the attention your huge fanbase.

These are honestly amazing. I bought the DIY Kit (the one without an included table top) and refinished a wooden table top I got from college surplus for $5. In total, I was able to do the whole thing for under $300. It's been great having the ability to switch between sitting and standing; really helps to move around a bit while working/gaming. 10/10 would recommend

  • @JosephJonesJRJ

I bought the "Jarvis" desk that was recommended on Wirecutter, which is similar (in fact, I think it's probably the same mechanism-- seems to be a dozen companies selling the same unit) and I love it. Make sure you get a "topo" mat to stand on if you plan to stand more than an hour a day, makes a huge difference. The health benefits of standing desks are debatable and no long-term studies have been done yet, but I really like it, splitting a typical 8 hour day about 50/50 between sitting and standing and find that I have more energy toward the end of the day and have fewer back problems. Also, if you shift your weight and move around a lot while standing you will burn a few extra calories.
Studio is looking great. Don't let the plant fool you, though... he's a sociopath. He's killed before, and he'll do it again. Don't turn your back on him.

Ken Havens I only have a standing desk and work for up to 14 hours a day. It's no different than anyone else who has to be on their feet all day; physical labour is definitely more tiring on the legs. I also play games at a standing desk during my free time. I really only sit down for meals. The human body is not meant to sit all day; it feels much better to stand (I've had the same setup for 2 years; no complaints) my chair still sits beside the desk for my cat sleep on though. He seems to prefer sitting/lying.

This is perfectly timed for me. I'm moving this summer and have been looking up all of the major brands of sit-stand desks. While I had basically already settled on this one, it's nice to get your personal opinion on the product. I'm currently dieting and doing lots of exercise but I'm also a video editor so every hour I'm awake I'm sitting down... that needs to change.

that's how they trick you into buying things that aren't worth what their asking price is. 1200 for a desk is ridiculous so is 599. Their DIY kit is 249 and the smallest desk which uses the same DIY kit costs 50 more, so the 53 inch top is 50 dollars but the 73 inch top is 350 dollars? lmao

Your forgetting that the larger sized desk also needs a second motor and a larger frame. Also your looking at the wood paneled top not the standard white so its not really a fair comparison.

Those 1.5k one's and such can likely hold like 5 different people sitting/standing on it.

amazing, finally found a mechanical desk that doesn't cost over 1k and ships to Canada. Thank you so much, Jayz!!! (wish they had a corner desk option though)

I've been using the first version of this desk since July of last year. Those motors are still going strong, and I put a lot of junk on mine! Also using their ErgoChair (roughly three or four months), which does get a little squeaky, but is otherwise very comfortable. My only real complaint is the desk makes me want to stand and the chair makes me want to sit and I can never figure out what to do. I have no regrets.

Nice video setup, it's probably the best. I like a lively/livingroom/housey background

Maybe this will be an easy gift to get from my parents for my birthday because it means I can do this thing I love most while freaking STANDING.

I just got the DIY base from autonomous, the business edition, and I put an old dining table top over it in the meantime. Really wanted a standing desk to share study time between it and my regular desk. When I'm done with my upcoming exam, I'll do a custom 3/4 wood with stainless steel overlay. Great Video!! Looking forward to the Ergo chair video, I got my current DXRacer chair based on your review. :-)

Awesome review, and very much looking forward to your chair review too. Ergonomics should be a seriously big deal indeed for everyone, specially those of us using our computers for rather long stretches of time every day.

For the grommets just put a wrap or two of electrical tap around it to make it a tighter fit An elastic band may work too.

I bought the Updesk Squareup 60", I tell you what, I love it. It is more expenive than yours, and doesn't have the cable holes. But I love that it's a corner desk, and it has 3 legs,a nd supports 450 pounds. It feels so sturdy. I will never go back to a regular desk.

I came so close to buying either the large desk or their chair, but decided to go a different route for now due to wanting to invest more into my PC build instead. I think next year will be the year I go for one of their chairs and the large desk as well, but we'll see. My best laid plans usually don't make it out of the planning stage.

I can't wait for that chair review, although I might have a semi-comfortable one soon that I got for free & am reupholstering. For distant future reference I had been considering a Herman Miller Aeron. If what you got is cheaper but just as comfortable long term (especially on the ass) then I'll really consider it.
