So pleased to see how much you loved Robin Hobb's books, Regan. I thought Liveship Traders would've become Hobb's best series, but that changed when I read the last trilogy in the Realm of the Elderlings... Take your time, and I'm sure you'll love it when you get to it!
I love listening to the enthusiasm in your voice as you talk about the books you love. Assassin's Apprentice definitely sounds really good and definitely will check it out soon!
Thanks for another great list! I literally started the Empire of Gold last night & was immediately hooked again! The entire trilogy is one of the "book splurges" I gave myself for Christmas. Another one of my favorites that I found because of you, thank you! Happy Holidays!
I just discovered your channel this year- thank you for your consistency and your recommendations. Your work ethic with your 9-5, your channel, and your reading plus having time to have a relationship is really inspiring. Thank you. My top 3 books I read this year are all SCI fi. The three body problem Children of time Recursion All 5 stars and all absolutely incredible!
My book case is full of your recommendations, I’m not kidding, I have hundreds of books that You have recommended!, if you tell me to read it, I read it and usually love it. Robin Hobbs has been my writer for years, I’m so glad you love her!
Bought the Farseer & Liveship series because of you this year but have been scared to start my high fantasy journey! My bf is obsessed with these books!
I'm new to the booktube side of this platform , coming from the knitting side and I just have to say that while I was listening I kept wondering if you made your sweater yourself or if there is a knitter in your life who loves you very much, cause it is gorgeous!
I just finished Middlegame and loved it! Definitely a complex story but I was so satisfied with the ending. Thanks so much for the recommendation and continuous reading inspo! ❤️
Your top ten are a lot more than ten books! I want to read them all! I have already read and loved Foundryside and Shorefall, The City We Became, and Middlegame. I gave them all two thumbs up. I've also read the The Assassin's Apprentice but it was so long ago I'd have to reread it before reading the rest of that trilogy.
SO many great books here... Jade City, Gideon the Ninth, and Poppy War are still on my TBR. One of my favorites from this year was Midnight Library by Matt Haig!
I want to read ALL of these!! I love the way you describe books. You give just enough information to completely hook me. My tbr is out of control but I’m not mad about it. Lol
I’m not into fantasy but I read a few chapters of mad ship and I can tell how people that love fantasy would really love that series. Very good writing style and easy to follow
After watching everyone's favorites of 2020 today and I NEEEEEED to get Legendborn!!! Seeing everyone talk about how incredible it is has me so hyped!! I keep going back and forth on if I want to read Jade City or not hahahah
Love your list--I would not have read the Poppy War trilogy if it weren't for your rec, and I am SO glad I did--currently finishing The Burning God. Thank you! A series that blew me away was Kate Forsyth's The Witches of Eileanan. Started slowly but I binge-read it and it was amazing amazing amazing. I listened to the Audible and loved the Scottish accents. Might be something I revisit every year.
I've only read legendborn from your list. And loved it! I read city of brass and the kingdom of copper. I have a couple weeks to wait to get the third book from the library. I want to read the poppy war so bad!
I have read so many amazing books this year on your recommendation 💖 I am so glad that I found your channel this year 💖 Lots of love 💗 Hope you have a wonderful Holiday ☃️❄
One of my fav book series that I read this year was the Grim and Blackthorn novels: Dreamer’s Pool (book 1), Tower of Thorns (book 2), and Den of Wolves (book 3) by Juliet Marillier. They were fantastic magical books about revenge, redemption and solving mysterious problems that arose anew during each book, I highly recommend them.
Not sure if anyone has already commented this (sorry if they have!) but there is a sequel to Middlegame! It’s call Seasonal Fears, I think, and it’s set to come out in 2022! 😍
Could you make a video reviewing the full Throne of Glass series!? I just read all of the books and am dying to hear your thoughts on the final few books and the prequel. Love your videos!
really needed this video today!! 😭💟💟 it made me feel happy immediately. also, i've been wondering whether to start "ship of magic" soon and this video is enough to convince me that i should pick it up as soon as i can.
Hello! Just so you know, I finished a series called the medoran chronicles. It’s my favourite series I have ever read and I highly recommend reading the series.
Hi I hope u had a great Christmas??? I’ve just finished ship of destiny book by Robin Hobb it’s the ☃️last book liveship traders series... it was amazing 5 ✨... happy reading to u!! 📖❄️😊
I didn't love Assassin's Apprentice, but you have given me hope that I might enjoy the rest of the books more! Hopefully I'll read them in 2021. My favorite books of 2020 were The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern, The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman and Normal People by Sally Rooney ✨
Definitely knew Liveship and Jade city will be on the list. Hey what about that book about witches? It was in one of your reading vlogs. Anyway Happy holidays!!
The Daevabad Trilogy is also my best books of the year! Checked all the boxes for me, I just loved it. Also on my list is the Shadow of the Fox trilogy. In the best ways the first book reminded me of how I feel when I read the Hobbit, and the third book is the perfect conclusion to a grand adventure. It doesn’t have holistic character depth my all time favorites have, but I adored this series.
My favorite series this year was The Mirror Visitor by Christelle Dabos. It's a YA (maybe New Adult though?) fantasy series with 3 of the 4 books out in English (originally French) and it's hard to even explain what captivates me about it. It's definitely a character driven story that's not for everyone, and book 3 changes its setting making it, again, not for everyone. But like, the main character Ophelia is literally me, and that is sooo rare for me in any sort of media, I always end up contemplating myself and how I act/am perceived when I read this series. If you make it through the first book and don't absolutely love it then I wouldn't continue on since even if you like book 2, you have to love Ophelia to really enjoy book 3 I feel.
The only book I've read on this list is, The City We Became. I just finished listening to it this week and LOVED IT! I am originally from Queens so, I got very nostalgic about NYC. I like things about my home city. :) Oh, I did read Jade City and got the second one for Christmas so I can continue now! Yay!
My top 4 (no order except the first): Here Comes the Sun by Nicole Dennis-Benn Foe by Iain Reid I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid The Danish Girl by David Ebershoff (I’m currently reading This Is How It Always Is by Laurie Frankel, and I’m pretty sure this is going to be a favorite as well.)
The Tawny Man trilogy is so good. I really enjoyed the Liveship Traders series. Althea is one of the best female characters ever. I just didn't like when they switched to the Rivers Wild stuff, even though a dragon was involved. Middlegame was such a pleasant surprise. I think I heard she was going to write another book
You need to read Nalini Singh if you haven’t already. Specifically the guild hunter series. I am literally dying and so inspired and also it is so sexy.... you would love
time to play the good old game of " Will I or will I not buy all the books mentioned in this video? "
So pleased to see how much you loved Robin Hobb's books, Regan. I thought Liveship Traders would've become Hobb's best series, but that changed when I read the last trilogy in the Realm of the Elderlings... Take your time, and I'm sure you'll love it when you get to it!
Reagan you do SUCH a good job explaining and illustrating what books are about!! Love your videos 💛💛 thanks for adding to my neverending TBR lmao
I can honestly say, all of your fantasy recommendations I fall in love with. Can't wait to read some of these!
I love listening to the enthusiasm in your voice as you talk about the books you love. Assassin's Apprentice definitely sounds really good and definitely will check it out soon!
Yes! I needed something to make me feel good today and this video is my favourite every year! 😭💙

Thanks for another great list! I literally started the Empire of Gold last night & was immediately hooked again! The entire trilogy is one of the "book splurges" I gave myself for Christmas. Another one of my favorites that I found because of you, thank you! Happy Holidays!
I loved Gideon the ninth! So good! I need to get started on Harrow the ninth.
I just discovered your channel this year- thank you for your consistency and your recommendations. Your work ethic with your 9-5, your channel, and your reading plus having time to have a relationship is really inspiring. Thank you.

All 5 stars and all absolutely incredible!

Robin Hobb is right up there for me also - Everything she writes is perfect
I'm new to the booktube side of this platform , coming from the knitting side and I just have to say that while I was listening I kept wondering if you made your sweater yourself or if there is a knitter in your life who loves you very much, cause it is gorgeous!
2020 was such a great reading year for me, as well! Quarantine really re-sparked my love for reading!
I just finished Middlegame and loved it! Definitely a complex story but I was so satisfied with the ending. Thanks so much for the recommendation and continuous reading inspo! ❤️

Lol

The Poppy War was one of my top 10 books of 2020 but I STILL haven’t gotten round to the sequels and it’s KILLING me 😂
I’m so happy you loved Liveship trader it’s my personal favorite of all her books too I’m on the last part now
I’m not into fantasy but I read a few chapters of mad ship and I can tell how people that love fantasy would really love that series. Very good writing style and easy to follow
After watching everyone's favorites of 2020 today and I NEEEEEED to get Legendborn!!! Seeing everyone talk about how incredible it is has me so hyped!! I keep going back and forth on if I want to read Jade City or not hahahah

Oh my god i’ve been waiting for this moment all year
I've only read legendborn from your list. And loved it! I read city of brass and the kingdom of copper. I have a couple weeks to wait to get the third book from the library. I want to read the poppy war so bad!
I loved Middlegame so much!! I can't wait for the sequel and see where they go with it 😍
I was waiting for this oneee!! Thank you Regan! Did you have a good Christmas? ☺🎄

I read them this year too and thoroughly enjoyed them! Looking forward to reading the books about their children.
I love everything by Juliet Marillier, she's definitely one of those fantasy authors who doesn't get enough hype!!
Yay legendborn was my fave of the year! Also adored from blood and ash & woven in moonlight💕
Not sure if anyone has already commented this (sorry if they have!) but there is a sequel to Middlegame! It’s call Seasonal Fears, I think, and it’s set to come out in 2022! 😍
Seanan Mcguire is coming out with a sequel to Middlegame!!!! I loved it this year as well so I’m very excited 💓

I didn't love Assassin's Apprentice, but you have given me hope that I might enjoy the rest of the books more! Hopefully I'll read them in 2021. My favorite books of 2020 were The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern, The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman and Normal People by Sally Rooney ✨

i kinda predicted most of your top ten, but i still gasped when you announced each book/series just for fun 😂😅
I also really loved the City We Became. I am very excited for the sequel because I just need to know what happens next.
