Just bought a new 24 RT AWD blacktop with plus package (cooled seats, ACC, etc) for a cool $46,000. For that price it feels like a bargain compared to the chintzy Subaru Ascent we traded in on it. For those saying “cheap interior” - for $100k, sure, but for a GT or RT, it’s darn nice. Quiet, comfortable, and filled with features. Plus, the last affordable V8 this guy could buy. Cheers
The styling on this relatively ancient car has aged well, and the powertrain is a hoot and looks great, but the price seems ambitious for a Dodge very late in its product cycle.
Unreasonable for me, but for people who want that sound, or tow heavy loads, maybe. The interior is very dated, along with cheap-feeling. I get why they didn't want to make significant changes for such a niche model, but that still makes it an iffy value.
Trust me all the modern interior with gargantuan screens and touch controls will be outdated and frozen within a decade and this rather dated mechanical interiors will work just fine
Volume on the back of the wheel is so much better than the front. It's weird to get used to but once you're used to it it's infinitely better than the front. The front should be for slightly more involved things like cruise control or media selection, where the mobility of the thumb is better utilized. On the back it's just index finger up and middle finger down and it becomes muscle memory
Thank you. My wife’s ‘14 Cherokee has LED lighting, meanwhile my leased ‘21 Durango did not. To see the freaking Hellcat have halogen bulbs for its interior is a shame. I believe the reverse lights, too, are not LED. That hurts. Thank The Lord for my Navigator. 🥰
I still think these are pretty good value for what they are. Sure the money was mostly spent on the powertrain but overall I wouldn’t complain about the interior accompaniments even at that price point.
Great review, guys, very well done. I actually like the stealthy look of the Durango, having little differentiation from other Durango trim/engine options helps fly under the radar. Low 3 second 0 to 60 times speaks for itself and doesn't need add on boy racer baubles. If you want more flash, get your Durango with racing stripes.
really gonna miss the durango :( idk why they have to replace it with a body on frame style. the 3 row grand cherokee exists. don’t know why they couldn’t use that
My Wrangler has the buttons on the back of the steering wheel, and I really like them there. My Subaru has the buttons on the front, and its just less intuitive to quickly press them without looking.
Why? This is a car you buy for fun. This checks all the marks for a fast fun reliable awd suv. It's a very proven power train, they drive and handle great. I don't want to hear you can buy a bmw for same price. They are boring to drive and this isn't.
I'm on my second Durango, and I love it. They are just as reliable as my Lexus. What you are paying for with that amount of power you can never get that from any other brand, especially Germans.
There is no R&D going into this car. No adjustments to the assembly line. No manufacturing of new parts. Drop the price to 60k and you will sell a bunch. But when you're in Lexus LX territory with an old dodge with halogen interior lights, hard plastics and 2nd row seats that don't slide, you're just saying "we don't care if we sell any." There can't be that many enthusiasts that will pay 110k otd just to rev the engine between lights on the way to soccer practice or Costco. For that kind of money you get a sports car or a luxury suv with a peppy engine. But I could be wrong.
2 years ago, they said it was the last one. I'm not sure why anyone would buy this. It's outdated and does not need any refresh whatsoever. It's not with the money.
And a Range Rover or Mercedes won’t be nearly as fast. You’d have to get a GLS63S or GLE63S AMG both of which are significantly more expensive than the Durango hellcat
Imagine this. You can pick up a NEW 25 Durango for under $40K and not a Stripped down model. You could buy 2 Durangos and have about $20K left over. Are you paying close to $60k for Engine?
You two give great reviews, but I am not a fan of this car. I am so surprised that Dodge has so few of changes to this car since conception. Especially the lack of ADAS availability at lower trims....
Seen so many hate in the comment section about this being dated ...yes ... And intetueis being trashy ... I bet this phyrical guages and control will outlast any modern 100k car .... Americans are willing to spend 85k on a renadged hughlander
Oh my! How can these guys review a vehicle yet they don't understand prices or facts, it doesn't come with a spare tire, and the price of the 392 is right around 90k so really what youth paying for is the engine! Its getting old hearing its a old look, the Challenger and Charger body was 15 years old!

We bought an rt blacktop couple of months ago, really like it, wish it would've had the tow n go package but that's okay lol.

I’m sorry that interior is a $30k interior not a $100k interior… my opinion
$30K is still very generous to be giving it considering it's a Stellantis product lol
@@jaytaylor629I didn’t want to see too biased 😅
30k is what you pay for a durango sxt.
The incandescent lighting took me out lmaooo... for $100k I better not see anything less of LED

I love my Durango R/T a value for me at 50K. Super fun to drive, terrific V8 sound and awesome for Minnesota winters.
We all know you buy this for the engine and not the luxury features. However, it wouldn’t kill them to include LED interior lighting.

Me either.
I do miss the Jeep Trackhawk though.
Shittttttty engineering and reliability. Seriously! Take a look at all the recalls. The materials are shoddy too.
@ nah it’s just fine, everything has recalls and materials are what they are I don’t care about a few cheaper feeling plastics.
@ then why does Alex own a Durango SRT? He hasn’t had issues with his.
At that weight, its a Hellpig.

They’re going to back to body on frame?
@ that’s what the rumors suggest. nothing official, but it’s supposed to be based on the swb wagoneers
@@justabrokeredneckinteresting, yeah figured they would have wanted to make use of the new GCL platform for this.
Fun comparison would be to put this up against the 4 motor rivian R1S
I like the subtlety of the design - a bit of a sleeper aside from the badges. If you don't know, you'll be surprised.
Still best in class. Nothing looks better or tows nearly as much.
My Wrangler has the buttons on the back of the steering wheel, and I really like them there. My Subaru has the buttons on the front, and its just less intuitive to quickly press them without looking.
12/19/24 Update: Not the last Durango Hellcat. Production not ending 12/31/24. More 2025 Durango Hellcats to be built in 2025.😎👍🤌
In no world should anyone be paying 100k for any Dodge unless it comes with a trunk or back hatch full of gold.

I did!!! Money well spent!!!
How many times will they say its the last year for the v8
Alex and Nick, For nearly $100,000, it would be nice to have a hand brake rather than a parking brake pedal. 🤨
@@rightlanehog3151 foot actuated parking brake is nice for this type of vehicle and is largely out of the way.
Im gettig mine soon

"It's $100,000; give me a button!"
I love the Durango, but damn 100k is a lot to pay for a vehicle that still has Chrysler switch gear from 15 years ago.
Great car but bit too expensive in mine opinion 👍Nevertheless many thanks for great video 👍
They keep saying that, but keep coming out with “limited edition” xyz. This won’t be the last…
100k for Dodge?! No,sir!! I would go for better unreliable cars such as Range Rover or Mercedes. Sorry folks.
You're paying for the engine
And a Range Rover or Mercedes won’t be nearly as fast. You’d have to get a GLS63S or GLE63S AMG both of which are significantly more expensive than the Durango hellcat
the Durango is really hot cake suv sizing, they should make new one
my dad planning on buying one of these haha

I'd say get one used for $60k-$70k.
if this was slightly shorter 2 row it would look better and sell alot more..
That 90s gear shift.and just beyond brutal instrument screen. uggg

Compared with Ford Expedition Tremor & Chevrolet Tahoe Z71
Not the same thing.
The Durango hellcat’s competition include the X5M, GLE63S, GLS63S, Alpina xB7, SQ7
@naveenthemachine I Know
till next year.
Thank you for realizing and switching off that noisy engine.
I’m not a fan of a Durango I would go with Ford Raptor 😂
Who cares about design or plastic inside, when he hears the HELL

I don't care for the taillights...
ill get a f u l l size spare tire
I know this is going to be stolen within a year.
Why would you do a review when you don’t know how to drive the vehicle? Dorkie!
Ugly as hell
