he still wouldn’t even be close to nahida’s power level if he has good aoe dendro app cause he doesn’t have 1) nahida’s damage 2) battery potential 3) buff potency 4) nahida’s range 5) ease of application. if kokomi can be a healer with good aoe app why cant baizhu? the whole point of dendro is to enable reactions so it’s perplexing to me that a 5 star dendro support has st dendro app. imo they’re too afraid of powercreeping to the point characters are released without achievinf their deserved, balanced potential.
Just used him in the current abyss 12 with Nilou, Nahida and Mona as bloom driver and it was such a breeze. His healing and shield which help with resisting interruption really help a lot

Either way, baizhu’s burst is gonna be one of cyno’s best supports since he solves nahida’s problem of multiple waves of small enemies cause you need to swap out of Cyno burst to apply nahida skill
8:12 Coming from a Nilou bloom player, you do not need the extra dendro application from Yaoyao, so it doesn't matter if she's better at applying Dendro. Nahida's skill procs along with bloom explosions will reapply enough Dendro, and the occasional Baizhu Dendro injection is all you need to get the train rolling again since bloom bursts will supply you with the Dendro afterwards. Unless you're driving with Yaoyao (building EM), you have to waste time healing with Yaoyao since her burst requires field time, and if you build EM she won't be a great healer anyways. Baizhu opens up the possibility of replacing Kokomi with another hydro driver (literally any fast Hydro applicator) or using Nahida on field + Yelan/XQ. You no longer need Kokomi as a driver, especially since building her EM made her healing fairly weak anyways. It wasn't that you can't clear Abyss 12 with the regular Nilou/Nahida team before, but Baizhu opens up a lot more possibility and makes it a lot easier, saving you more time on the other side if you're struggling with a certain side. Baizhu works best with another Dendro. Pairing him with Tighnari/Nahida has made him feel extremely helpful in providing teams that previously didn't have room for shields the ability to gain interruption resistance. He's not a character you can slot into any team that you want, but he fits extremely well into the ones that can use him. Roll him if you have a place for him, you won't regret it.
What i learn from this is that Hes good if you have cyno Hes a dendro healer not a shielder, the shield is for interuption resistance Hes f2p friendly If you like his character by all means go for it else i wouldnt recommend unless you use nahida as an on-field dps or a cyno
beidou is much better option for cyno, baizhu sucks. Beidou does everything baizhu can but better and buffs cyno and gives electro resonance. Use nahida instead.

Even if I still have to skip him for now, since I have other units in mind, I wouldn't be surprised that baizhu will be a staple for dendro survivability. Like shenhe would be a support for cryo teams, baibai and nahida would become drivers for dendro reaction teams
I think so toom I'm like that too. Baizhu has flaw... He is like dendro Kokomi and i got him by accident. I think u will understand nahida is way better. And baizhu will be important to hyperbloom. He works well. I dont hate him and i love him. Its just his kit is sad for me. He deserve better kit
Yeah but I dont really see much potential for him. Considering what makes dendro broken, he just doesnt apply dendro well enough. If only his ult sheild regenerated faster and had an aoe instead of an ST hit.
I think everyone just forgets tighnari exists and would probably be very good with spread reactions with baizhu since tighnari is also a very strong single target dps

They also said the exact same thing during her release that people know more about the game now after being wrong with every other character before.
if his whole kit had focused on the idea of attacking pressure points he would have been amazing too a new take on the martial artists mages but he hits like a wet noodle so...the killer is dead
I know many peoplet more likely think Baizhu is made to be paired to Cyno, but I actually think Baizhu is for Al Haitham spread reaction damage DPS team. Al Haitham, Baizhu, then put 1 electro subdps/applier, then you have 1 slot free for any other character.
yeah he is really good with onfield driver like alhaitham and cyno with long field time. One of the biggest advantage he has over nahida is you doesn't need to reapply drendro between waves but still has solid buff, interuption res, heal. But he's very energy-hungry so it's better off running him on er sand and fav codex.

I'm interested in pulling for Baizhu from a gameplay perspective, but I might wait till reviewers do it. He's interesting to me as he is a shielder and a healer as well. Not many characters are like that besides Diona, Noelle, and C4 Yanfei with Prototype Amber.
I love Baizhu so much. I use him in hyperbloom with Lisa(Using Nahida's weapon), Dendro MC and Xinqiu and my Lisa hits more than 30k per hyperbloom. Plus, his passive where you get healed when harvesting things in the wild is kinda nice when you suck at the game like i do :')
Im actually really glad that i got baizhu because good healer and for me he worked well with alhaitham who needs to be on field. I also cleared floor 12 for first time, First team baizhu, alhaitham,raiden xingqiu/2nd zhongli, nahida ayato,kuki
What I hope they did with the ultimate is that, whenever it refreshes it also seeks out enemies like the E skill so in that way it kinda has AoE but Hoyoverse runs out of brain juice I guessed
Huh, what is the conclusion of this video? Basically, "he sucks but I still like him"? -team highlights were a subpar hyperbloom team and a mysteriously unnamed "few other teams". Hyperbloom exists as a mechanic so there are no more truly "bad" characters (as long as they're dendro) -short range NAs, mediocre dendro application, lack of AOE and bad multipliers make him a subpar driver -worse than Yaoyao in Nilou teams (and therefore implicitly worse than Kokomi too) -Good healing but you can already go afk in Abyss with Kokomi -Kokomi: exists with strong AOE application, overkill healing, no energy problems and works on or off field +Interruption resistance is good, and does seem he at least brings more to the team than Zhongli +...you can only have one Kokomi? + Makes Cyno useable? But man Cyno is awful and you playing him with Nahida Kokomi and Baizhu like wtf is Baizhus point if he doesn't free up Kokomi and Nahida Nah hard pass Hoyo keep churning out Dehyas, Star Rail is pretty cool tho

Tbh I don't see why people consider him useless rn, ig it's bc he doesn't apply as much dendro as the dendro archon. I remember what happened in 1.6. I was literally kazuha doomposting (not literally) as soon as I saw his kit. Sucrose but worse- less aoe, lower dmg buff, no point in using him. Dogsh8t character. Seemingly at least half the community agreed. Played his demo once, insta copped regardless of skill. I shit you not, that very day was the first day I got 36*s. Got him to level 70 6/7/7 talents with a level 70 iron sting and managed to still get 36 stars. I'll do the same for baizhu mainly bc there are currently only 2 dendro healers. Kirara is a shielder but tbh I don't see her getting more value than baizhu due to her shield not being very strong (strong enough but definitely not zhongli level, like 1/2 of it) and her requiring onfield time to apply dendro. It will definitely work, but then again, her dmg isn't all that special. Her burst seems good tho, just that she probably won't be worth a slot bc you would be better off with nahida/alhaitham onfield, and for interruption resistance and more importantly heals and more importantly buffs, baizhu is better

I know enough that 2% at 50,000HP doesn't directly translate into 100% damage. But it's shit that like that pisses me off. Mihoyo KNOWS that 99% of the player base doesn't realize those things, and will pull for Baizhu (spend real money) because they think they're Hyperbloom is going to go from 31K up to 62K.... with the way Mihoyo sneakily worded his passive. And Mihoyo does that A LOT.
Yeah sure bro, Hoyo definitely tricks the players and doesn’t offer someone with constant stagger immunity and healing with the rotational shields.. and plus it doesn’t even matter. People could do well with that brain dead reaction without baizhu.
I understand ur frustration but the damage buff is actually significant if u take into consideration how many times those reactions are being triggered, it adds up a lot
I also understand Heizou has an insane punching animation as catalyst user but man Baizhu throwing his hands cannot even reach any enemy unless youre super close. He is like the shortest catalyst chiropractor.
kokomi can barely damage, no crit, but with insane heals on skill and application. Meta. Bennet can barely damage, single target, but with good heals on burst and atk buff. Meta. Baizhu can barely damage, but with insane heals on both skill and burst, and dendro application and buff. Don't underestimate him, he's the type to make people eat their words just like Kokomi and Bennet.
I found he actually works fairly well on A Tighnari Aggravate team as your second dendro unit Deepwood holder and buffer. Tighnari is prone to getting interrupted despite his quick shot playstyle and the interruption resistance Baizhu offers is very valuable. It may not be worth kicking Nahida from your team but if you're like me and don't have or want her (clunky on my set up,) he ends up being a good alternative for that second dendro slot.
I honestly feel Baizhu is not so much of an improvement over Yaoyao, apart from Cyno teams. If Hoyo gave him some AoE he could have at least been able to hold the Deepwood set but given his single target stance I don't think he reliably can. Baizhu should be the support to help teams build up, but he has so many flaws that it feels he needs support to function, so it's kinda not worth it: short range AA, no AoE, not a great deepwood holder, mid buffer. Honestly I will just throw a 10 pull and try to get Kaveh but Baizhu is really not worth it at the moment and we just had Nahida running which is overall a better pick over him.

I would have been happy with him if the projectiles of his burst were bouncing between the enemies like his skill does: a better AoE was all he needed to be a bit more viable.
Baizhu is more to al haithan (spread team) than cyno team. Al haitham just need 1 sub-dps applier and free 1 party slot. In cyno team, baizhu having hard time to get his energy for burst.
Just like others, I'm thinking of putting him in Cyno team comp. Running with Hyperbloom team with Nahida and XQ, my last slot was either ZL or Kuki. I really prefer Kuki for consistent healing and Electro reso but he's soooo easy to interrupt so I ended up with ZL and here I was thinking Baizhu might solve the problem but I guess really not. Now I'm even more confused. 😓
As an f2p i restarted playing genshin again and got some pirogems(how tf did i forget the most important thing)then i bought 10 intertwined fate and spinned than to my surprise,i got my second five star, and I'm here cus i don't wanna read all that skill description
He sucks, and the fact Nahida, YaoYao and Kirara exist doesnt help either. Guy gets outperformed in literally everything, dendro application, damage, healing, shielding and particle generation.
The point on baizhu’s auto being short/close range, canonically baizhu is chronically ill, he cannot exert himself too much or he may pass out according to changseng(his snake), so his charge being his only viable form of auto damage output makes sense lorewise

as someone who used to use cyno and yoimiya in the 2 different abyss halfs which only one built shielder(zhongli), it was really hard to choose which team he should be in since both cyno and yoi needs resistance to interruption for best dmg output, with baizhu now, I think I’ll start to use cyno again in abyss👀
I really really really don't like him.I am sorry but he ( especially in his trial ) has a shield that lasts one or two hits . His na range is ridiculous small and he is way to weak (character fitting tho) to be useful in my nilou team and so on and so on... Really didn't expect that much from a healer but kokomi and nahida are way better overall with my playstyle preferences. I hope that whoever wants to get him is happy with him tho cause he has an adorable design.☺️ I'm trying for ganyu this time currently 67 pity and if I don't get her I can get eula after summer or focalors in fomtaine maybe.😅
1:44 I don't know if it's just me but I don't think the Hilichurl actually destroyed the shield but rather, the shield destroyed itself exactly before the Hilichurl shot. That's why you took dmg. If you try to get shot without the shield, the dmg would probably be the same

Many people are comparing Baizhu to kokomi just because they are healers but the truth is that unfortunately Baizhu will not have the same meta progression as kokomi. Baizhu unfortunately suffers from not having a lot of aportunities to fit in different types of teams making him somewhat niche and only useful in only dendro specific teams and when i say specific i mean it Koko works in many teams and has also good AOE. Which brings me to another very big issue with baizhu and that's his AOE as well which is very non existent. Honestly he has other issue but I dont really have to cover all them lol

No, it just refreshes once every 3 seconds and it was broken by first hit, because this shield is paper thin and absorbing less damage than crystalize shield, so with very next hit Baizhu was interrupted. But the point is right, shield refresh rate is too low to be reliable sourse of resistance to interruption, even Thoma's shield refreshing every 1 second
@@lr560 as of now he's lvl 52 so what I did was Zhongli(semi dps, homa), Yelan (main, fav), Baizhu(lvl 52 so I need zhongli hahaha), then Keqing(4pc thundering fury, umbrella sword). This is straight up random bullshit damage go 🤣 but at least they work 🤣
Yeah, no way I'm spending my guarantee on him. Really don't understand why nearly every character in GI needs to be borderline terrible except for edge cases. So the next time I will wish is in 4.0, genius way to make me absolutely not spend until 2024.
In my specific case, interruption resistance is all i need....especially when paired with strong heals and will take, even if it is 15%, any extra buffs as the cumulative effect helps (my team will be Yelan, Raiden, Nahida, Baizhu).

He is obviously a supporter character so he doesn’t need to be perfect. His build is f2p friendly and his best weapon is f2p friendly. You can easily make him broke so I don’t see any downside to pulling for him, even at C0. Don’t listen to the meta slaves and play how you like.

Nahida + Baizhu + Sucrose / Kazuha C2 let you build any Electro unit with high Crit and Atk without caring much about EM, as they buff it and reaction dmg pretty well. Then, if you play Raiden as said unit, it obliterates everything
Yesterday I did the abyss with raiden, yelan, nahida, baizhu and it was pretty fun! All the enemies died so fast I'm going to pull for kazuha so I'll switch yelan with him and see how it goes than
I wanted Fischl since everyone hype her so much for every team that needs electro application. Didn't want to pull for this banner since I'm F2P, but I did. 2 wished and I got her. I was super psyched so I said: WTH let's do a 10 wish.. And I got Baizhu and Kaveh. Since neither of those 3 characters need constellations, I will not pull anymore. I NEED Kokomi and Kazuha. What's weird is having a 5* that's support... I don't have Nahida since I wanted these 2 other characters better.

It should be mentioned that in the cyno xingqui nahida Baizhu team, cyno should be on 4pc TF as it gives both more energy for cyno’s burst and higher dmg output, resolving all energy issues on the team

I think so toom I'm like that too. Baizhu has flaw... He is like dendro Kokomi and i got him by accident. I think u will understand nahida is way better. And baizhu will be important to hyperbloom. He works well. I dont hate him and i love him. Its just his kit is sad for me. He deserve better kit

I know many peoplet more likely think Baizhu is made to be paired to Cyno, but I actually think Baizhu is for Al Haitham spread reaction damage DPS team. Al Haitham, Baizhu, then put 1 electro subdps/applier, then you have 1 slot free for any other character.
He’s also good in Nilou bloom. Basically an upgrade over Yao Yao.
i actually have a hard time using him with cyno
yeah he is really good with onfield driver like alhaitham and cyno with long field time. One of the biggest advantage he has over nahida is you doesn't need to reapply drendro between waves but still has solid buff, interuption res, heal. But he's very energy-hungry so it's better off running him on er sand and fav codex.
@@Aliens1337 Not an upgrade, because his Dendro app and AOE is worse. And Nilou really really needs those things. Of course, Yaoyao needs to be onfield, but you can just use DMC/Collei for offield. But he's a good option for sure.

I'm interested in pulling for Baizhu from a gameplay perspective, but I might wait till reviewers do it. He's interesting to me as he is a shielder and a healer as well. Not many characters are like that besides Diona, Noelle, and C4 Yanfei with Prototype Amber.
I still don't have C4 Yanfei but she seems like fun 😊

I love Baizhu so much. I use him in hyperbloom with Lisa(Using Nahida's weapon), Dendro MC and Xinqiu and my Lisa hits more than 30k per hyperbloom. Plus, his passive where you get healed when harvesting things in the wild is kinda nice when you suck at the game like i do :')
I am excited to pick him up; he will land in my Alhaitham and Cyno teams as a fantastic utility since I didn't get Nahida.
Im actually really glad that i got baizhu because good healer and for me he worked well with alhaitham who needs to be on field. I also cleared floor 12 for first time,

-team highlights were a subpar hyperbloom team and a mysteriously unnamed "few other teams". Hyperbloom exists as a mechanic so there are no more truly "bad" characters (as long as they're dendro)
-short range NAs, mediocre dendro application, lack of AOE and bad multipliers make him a subpar driver
-worse than Yaoyao in Nilou teams (and therefore implicitly worse than Kokomi too)
-Good healing but you can already go afk in Abyss with Kokomi
-Kokomi: exists with strong AOE application, overkill healing, no energy problems and works on or off field
+Interruption resistance is good, and does seem he at least brings more to the team than Zhongli
+...you can only have one Kokomi?
+ Makes Cyno useable? But man Cyno is awful and you playing him with Nahida Kokomi and Baizhu like wtf is Baizhus point if he doesn't free up Kokomi and Nahida

Tbh I don't see why people consider him useless rn, ig it's bc he doesn't apply as much dendro as the dendro archon.
I remember what happened in 1.6. I was literally kazuha doomposting (not literally) as soon as I saw his kit. Sucrose but worse- less aoe, lower dmg buff, no point in using him. Dogsh8t character. Seemingly at least half the community agreed. Played his demo once, insta copped regardless of skill. I shit you not, that very day was the first day I got 36*s. Got him to level 70 6/7/7 talents with a level 70 iron sting and managed to still get 36 stars. I'll do the same for baizhu mainly bc there are currently only 2 dendro healers. Kirara is a shielder but tbh I don't see her getting more value than baizhu due to her shield not being very strong (strong enough but definitely not zhongli level, like 1/2 of it) and her requiring onfield time to apply dendro. It will definitely work, but then again, her dmg isn't all that special. Her burst seems good tho, just that she probably won't be worth a slot bc you would be better off with nahida/alhaitham onfield, and for interruption resistance and more importantly heals and more importantly buffs, baizhu is better

I know enough that 2% at 50,000HP doesn't directly translate into 100% damage.
But it's shit that like that pisses me off. Mihoyo KNOWS that 99% of the player base doesn't realize those things, and will pull for Baizhu (spend real money) because they think they're Hyperbloom is going to go from 31K up to 62K.... with the way Mihoyo sneakily worded his passive. And Mihoyo does that A LOT.

kokomi can barely damage, no crit, but with insane heals on skill and application. Meta.
Bennet can barely damage, single target, but with good heals on burst and atk buff. Meta.
Baizhu can barely damage, but with insane heals on both skill and burst, and dendro application and buff. Don't underestimate him, he's the type to make people eat their words just like Kokomi and Bennet.
Yao Yao is better and she’s a four star character, Mihoyo really getting lazy with these characters.

As someone who needed an upgrade from Yaoyao for my bloom team (sadly her healing is not enough), Baizhu is perfect
I found he actually works fairly well on A Tighnari Aggravate team as your second dendro unit Deepwood holder and buffer. Tighnari is prone to getting interrupted despite his quick shot playstyle and the interruption resistance Baizhu offers is very valuable. It may not be worth kicking Nahida from your team but if you're like me and don't have or want her (clunky on my set up,) he ends up being a good alternative for that second dendro slot.

I honestly feel Baizhu is not so much of an improvement over Yaoyao, apart from Cyno teams. If Hoyo gave him some AoE he could have at least been able to hold the Deepwood set but given his single target stance I don't think he reliably can. Baizhu should be the support to help teams build up, but he has so many flaws that it feels he needs support to function, so it's kinda not worth it: short range AA, no AoE, not a great deepwood holder, mid buffer. Honestly I will just throw a 10 pull and try to get Kaveh but Baizhu is really not worth it at the moment and we just had Nahida running which is overall a better pick over him.
Same, C1 yaoyao sidegrade unless you have Cyno and want to hyperinvest in him.

I would have been happy with him if the projectiles of his burst were bouncing between the enemies like his skill does: a better AoE was all he needed to be a bit more viable.
Baizhu is more to al haithan (spread team) than cyno team. Al haitham just need 1 sub-dps applier and free 1 party slot. In cyno team, baizhu having hard time to get his energy for burst.

Just like others, I'm thinking of putting him in Cyno team comp. Running with Hyperbloom team with Nahida and XQ, my last slot was either ZL or Kuki. I really prefer Kuki for consistent healing and Electro reso but he's soooo easy to interrupt so I ended up with ZL and here I was thinking Baizhu might solve the problem but I guess really not. Now I'm even more confused. 😓

The point on baizhu’s auto being short/close range, canonically baizhu is chronically ill, he cannot exert himself too much or he may pass out according to changseng(his snake), so his charge being his only viable form of auto damage output makes sense lorewise

as someone who used to use cyno and yoimiya in the 2 different abyss halfs which only one built shielder(zhongli), it was really hard to choose which team he should be in since both cyno and yoi needs resistance to interruption for best dmg output, with baizhu now, I think I’ll start to use cyno again in abyss👀
Baizhu is a comfort pick. Nahida XQ Beidou is his best team.

I really really really don't like him.I am sorry but he ( especially in his trial ) has a shield that lasts one or two hits . His na range is ridiculous small and he is way to weak (character fitting tho) to be useful in my nilou team and so on and so on... Really didn't expect that much from a healer but kokomi and nahida are way better overall with my playstyle preferences. I hope that whoever wants to get him is happy with him tho cause he has an adorable design.☺️ I'm trying for ganyu this time currently 67 pity and if I don't get her I can get eula after summer or focalors in fomtaine maybe.😅
1:44 I don't know if it's just me but I don't think the Hilichurl actually destroyed the shield but rather, the shield destroyed itself exactly before the Hilichurl shot. That's why you took dmg. If you try to get shot without the shield, the dmg would probably be the same
world level 8 hilichurls do NOT do 278 damage per arrow

Many people are comparing Baizhu to kokomi just because they are healers but the truth is that unfortunately Baizhu will not have the same meta progression as kokomi. Baizhu unfortunately suffers from not having a lot of aportunities to fit in different types of teams making him somewhat niche and only useful in only dendro specific teams and when i say specific i mean it Koko works in many teams and has also good AOE. Which brings me to another very big issue with baizhu and that's his AOE as well which is very non existent. Honestly he has other issue but I dont really have to cover all them lol

No, it just refreshes once every 3 seconds and it was broken by first hit, because this shield is paper thin and absorbing less damage than crystalize shield, so with very next hit Baizhu was interrupted. But the point is right, shield refresh rate is too low to be reliable sourse of resistance to interruption, even Thoma's shield refreshing every 1 second
Might as well get yourself a dedicated shielder. He is mainly a healer + interruption resistance.

@@lr560 as of now he's lvl 52 so what I did was Zhongli(semi dps, homa), Yelan (main, fav), Baizhu(lvl 52 so I need zhongli hahaha), then Keqing(4pc thundering fury, umbrella sword). This is straight up random bullshit damage go 🤣 but at least they work 🤣

In my specific case, interruption resistance is all i need....especially when paired with strong heals and will take, even if it is 15%, any extra buffs as the cumulative effect helps (my team will be Yelan, Raiden, Nahida, Baizhu).

If you want a dendro Bennett, baizhu isn't the option. He's a healer with interruption resistance and a little bit of dendro application that also happens to buff dmg. Lmk whenever the next dendro healer that has a better buff and interruption resistance releases.

He is obviously a supporter character so he doesn’t need to be perfect. His build is f2p friendly and his best weapon is f2p friendly. You can easily make him broke so I don’t see any downside to pulling for him, even at C0. Don’t listen to the meta slaves and play how you like.

He is a hard pass. No surprise there. I hate Cyno, like alot. One of my biggest regrets in this game. Up there with Venti, Dehya and Klee. So I couldn't care less about Baizhu either. Good luck to everyone else though.

Nahida + Baizhu + Sucrose / Kazuha C2 let you build any Electro unit with high Crit and Atk without caring much about EM, as they buff it and reaction dmg pretty well.
Then, if you play Raiden as said unit, it obliterates everything
