LeThayle You're an idiot. Macs are not made for hardcore gaming. They are professional laptops, made for people with businesses, or even a UA-cam channel. They are great for video editing, school, light gaming, and they last a very long time. Windows has a shit OS, always gets a ton of viruses, and in 3-4 years your Windows laptop becomes crap because of how slow it gets. A Mac however, will still be speedy, Sure the price is steep, and I had to save up a lot to get one, but it is an investment, one that I don't regret.

Krazi Borscht the 12 inch is something else. It's like a luxury good, not very adequate, targetted for low tier activity but using it would make the experience unforgettable and addictive. It's like an impressive casual computer. My kind of computer. For work, my company already gave me a work laptop, so at home when I just want to relax, this 12 inch would be perfect for casual computing after work.
I've just started University and got the 13' because the 11' was too small for me. Recommend it for any student! So fluid in everything it does, perfect battery life for all day use. Haven't had a problem with it yet, perfect for on the go and so light too!

purchased this from Craigslist recently for $120. I updated the RAM to 8GB, added a new SSD, and also updated the OS to Ventura using the Open Core Legacy Patcher. The port selection is also a bonus. I should have updated the battery. Overall, it's a good backup laptop for what I need.

Just got the 13 inch model this week and it is my first apple product of any kind. Got to say, moving from a acer and lenovo laptop to this, it's just night and day. The build quality, battery life.. amazing. I was worried about 2 things: the screen and the OS. For a 13 inch laptop, the screen is just fine, although retina wouldn't hurt. The os has really surprised me, i was expecting to have a bit of a learning curve, but after one day, I feel incredibly comfortable with it! All in all, fantastic buy at this point!
I have a mid-2013 11.6 inch Air running OS X El Capitan as my secondary machine and it is the best laptop I owned and one of if not my favorite computer due to it's super compact size, but also powerful enough components. really great piece of machinery, but I am quite saddened that Apple no longer offers it as an option :(
I'm typing this on the new i7 2015 13" Macbook Air w/upgraded processor/ram/storage. I changed from the 2012 Air that had the same upgrades. I am really happy I made this purchase. The biggest reason was simply that my old Air had become old and worn down. But the 2.2Ghz/3.2GhzTurbo processor just blazes! I run Adobe Photoshop without any lag at all. In my opinion the Macbook Air is the perfect computer. Yes, the screen is still just 1440px wide, but the net still is not ready for Retina displays. The pixel doubling of Macbook Pros makes 85% of the websites look fuzzy. For me, this screen is beautiful and bright. Retina displays will be necessary in 2-4 years, but we're not there yet. This computer is blazing fast. Amazing build quality! Never breaks (vs. my Lenovo which was always loose). Amazing keyboard, trackpad. Works great for web/photoediting/videoediting. And it weighs just *2 pounds*.
man I'm kinda sad that they don't offer this size anymore...there's something appealing to a very small form factor laptop, these days you have to look at tablets if you want something this small
Bought the 2017 13” thinking it would make me happy. The 1.8ghz, 128gb and size didn’t win me over. Gave it to my wife. She loves it. Bought an early 2015 i7 with 512gb. I love my computer
I've had the 13 inch for over a year, I switched from the 11, and I love it and prefer it over the 11. That being said, that 11 inch is one nice little computer! So compact but still every bit as powerful. If I didn't have my iPad Air, it's probably the one I'd go for. But I still prefer to have both the iPad and MacBook Air, as they serve two separate but nice functions.
I own a MacBook retina 2016 now but one of the advantages I liked about the 11 inch is the 16:9 ratio. I like watching videos on it because you get no black border unlike all other Apple products...just feels more immersive! I also preferred the wider display and better DPI vs the 13 because often I use two documents side by side. Having said all that the 13 inch is the better option if it is going to be your only computer but I love the portability of the 11 inch...just wish I'd have bought the 8GB model now. I tried to go back to Mavericks but it seems so dated now and can still just about get away with 4GB as I have the 256GB Air.

I happen to play with this at Best Buy today out curiosity but I must say that I was blown away by the quality of its speakers. Absolutely the best sounding speakers I have ever listened to. Totally demolish the competition. Regret not being an Apple fan otherwise I would have gone for this in a heart bit.

Guys, if you're planning to buy this. Do it, I purchased mine three weeks ago and it has been a reliable computer. I was a windows user for around 12 years, experienced some hiccups with it. But so far, with OSX I haven't experienced anything like what I did with windows.
This thing is a great video editor. Coming from a PC though. Of course the Macbook Pro will be more powerful than the Macbook Air. Not a bad price for a Mac.

@@artistbervucci1716 honestly very smooth, smoother than expected, apps sometimes hiccup but that's an app's internal issue because the rest of the system works fine. although some weird things that have happened is that the dock and menu bar become irresponsive, but it's only happened to me 2 times since I bought it (last week) but nothing that a good old reset can't fix. I like to do animation with ive2d and I'm amazed by how smooth the rigging proces is in this machine, much better than the system I used before
Still have one laying around the house, used it for 7 years! Graduated both HS and University w it, as well as first semester of MA. Still perfectly usable for daily tasks and my family members use it with no issues. Battery life is ofc so bad at this point and looking at its screen is really hard after getting used to m2 air. Overall, it was an amazing laptop in 2015, definitely worth the money.
I don't understand the naming of the new MacBook at all. It's thinner and lighter than the Air, but it's not an Air.... (the 12" Retina MacBook that comes in three colors)
Yeah, it also seems like the MBA is being squeezed from both ends now with the MBP getting thinner and cheaper, although I don't think it's going away anytime soon. I think much depends on how the MacBook does, we may have seen the last update to the MBA.
Theyre possibly gonna go thinner if they make another Air and the new one is just a refresh to a very old Macbook(plastic ones that are black and white) the new Macbook also seems like a Chromebook since you cant really do Ps and stuff on it. MKBHD said with its specs its better for browsing and could be good for a student. I just hope if you cant go thinner with Macbook Pro's for now that they just give you similar color options

friður The MacBook line has always been kind of weird. Apple did make one aluminum MacBook, then the following year decided to call it the 13" MacBook Pro and killed the MacBook line, only to bring it back the following year in plastic again. Then they killed it again. And now it looks like it's back again, aluminum and comes in three colors. And whichever model you get, add $80 to it for the ability to use USB and still charge the device at the same time, or $20 for the ability to use USB but not be able to charge the device at the same time.

Back when apple had good I/O. If they had just upgraded the internal components, display and thunderbolt 2 to thunderbolt 3 ports keeping the same design, this would be unbeatable even in 2019.
8:29 - Apple said in the keynote that only the 13-inch Air would have SSD performance that is "twice as fast," thanks to the new Samsung M.2 PCIe x4 SSDs. The 11-inch does not receive that feature, so if you really want fast disk performance, you should go with the 13-inch. Every 13-inch should have that spec, but none of the 11-inch models do.
the 11.6 inch is so tiny. i have an Ideapad 3 as my main laptop, but needed a Mac for some work related stuff. can't wait until mine comes in tomorrow.

Guys, if you're planning to buy this. Do it, I purchased mine three weeks ago and it has been a reliable computer. I was a windows user for around 12 years, experienced some hiccups with it. But so far, with OSX I haven't experienced anything like what I did with windows.
How hasn't this guy got more than 1,000,000 subs, his videos are so awesome!

Great review, I so want a 11 inch MacBook Air
This thing is a great video editor. Coming from a PC though. Of course the Macbook Pro will be more powerful than the Macbook Air. Not a bad price for a Mac.

@@artistbervucci1716 honestly very smooth, smoother than expected, apps sometimes hiccup but that's an app's internal issue because the rest of the system works fine. although some weird things that have happened is that the dock and menu bar become irresponsive, but it's only happened to me 2 times since I bought it (last week) but nothing that a good old reset can't fix. I like to do animation with ive2d and I'm amazed by how smooth the rigging proces is in this machine, much better than the system I used before

Still have one laying around the house, used it for 7 years! Graduated both HS and University w it, as well as first semester of MA. Still perfectly usable for daily tasks and my family members use it with no issues. Battery life is ofc so bad at this point and looking at its screen is really hard after getting used to m2 air. Overall, it was an amazing laptop in 2015, definitely worth the money.
I don't understand the naming of the new MacBook at all. It's thinner and lighter than the Air, but it's not an Air.... (the 12" Retina MacBook that comes in three colors)
Yeah, it also seems like the MBA is being squeezed from both ends now with the MBP getting thinner and cheaper, although I don't think it's going away anytime soon. I think much depends on how the MacBook does, we may have seen the last update to the MBA.
Theyre possibly gonna go thinner if they make another Air and the new one is just a refresh to a very old Macbook(plastic ones that are black and white) the new Macbook also seems like a Chromebook since you cant really do Ps and stuff on it. MKBHD said with its specs its better for browsing and could be good for a student. I just hope if you cant go thinner with Macbook Pro's for now that they just give you similar color options
friður We may be surprised by the performance of the new MacBook, even with video editing. But it's hard to recommend the MacBook as a primary computer to get real work done. It's a costly but fashionable computer that excites people and there is nothing wrong with that I think.
friður The MacBook line has always been kind of weird. Apple did make one aluminum MacBook, then the following year decided to call it the 13" MacBook Pro and killed the MacBook line, only to bring it back the following year in plastic again. Then they killed it again. And now it looks like it's back again, aluminum and comes in three colors. And whichever model you get, add $80 to it for the ability to use USB and still charge the device at the same time, or $20 for the ability to use USB but not be able to charge the device at the same time.

Picked it up at Best BUY and saved $200.00!! Sale price was $100.00 off...then I told them I was a student. They always give me 100.00 off when I tell them that :-) so, I also charged it with my Best Buy card for 30 days...you get 5% back for that, so total savings $260! :)

Back when apple had good I/O. If they had just upgraded the internal components, display and thunderbolt 2 to thunderbolt 3 ports keeping the same design, this would be unbeatable even in 2019.

8:29 - Apple said in the keynote that only the 13-inch Air would have SSD performance that is "twice as fast," thanks to the new Samsung M.2 PCIe x4 SSDs. The 11-inch does not receive that feature, so if you really want fast disk performance, you should go with the 13-inch. Every 13-inch should have that spec, but none of the 11-inch models do.
