great channel... if you want to get the inside plated, you will need to make an electrode that is coaxial to the cup. Something like a nickel rod will do. If you want very even results, design the nickel anode like a well that surrounds the cup and has a nickel rod in the middle. That should throw evenly over the entire inside and outside surfaces. Thanks for sharing Doug
Thanks for the compliment and comment! You are absolutely correct, if there was an anode inside that never touched the piece, it would throw great in there. Thanks again!
Why not dip the electrode inside the cup during all three processes? (I'm currently facing the same problem but even worse - electroplating inside surface of a long and thin tube)
Optimally, you would create an anode that could go inside the cup. We have spoken with this particular customer about making something like that for him. In this case, the cup was more of a proof of concept, as hes doing something quite artistic. He ultimately plans on doing very large items of all shapes. For your project, where you're wanting to plate the inside of a long thin tube, an anode needs to be ran through the tube but also must not make contact with the tube or it will not work.
@@GoldPlatingServices I have ended up using a Stainless steel welding rod. But can I use stainless steel to do Nickel plating? (Be it Woods nickel strike or bright nickel)
Can you please send a photo of your result and what solution you are using to tech.goldplating@gmail.com ? We have never seen a yellow color result from our nickel plating solution. We can help you troubleshoot it.
Sir am from Pakistan i would like some information please i wont to do but I have no idea please some information solution because I wont a big open busnies bike parts so plz help me

We are a supplier of electroplating solutions. We do not provide instructions for fabricating solutions, it is not recommended that you attempt to make them yourself.
You can find a lot of instructions online, some are good some are bad. In general "Gold Plating Services" solutions are well priced and worth the cost (to reduce trial and error), unless you do really big baths (say 20 gallongs) electroplating. Then it worth making your own solutions. But for small scale their solutions worth time/mess savings
@@Void-gn9zm Yeh if you want nickel acetate it is really really easy. BUT. I'm actually making a batch of industrial and bright plating solution right now. I'm heating 300mL of HCL acid to 60c with 450g of nickel until it stops bubbling. Then I'll do the same with concentrated sulphuric acid. Then filter and dry to get my base chemicals. Might make a sulfamate aswell. Then there's the brighteners for near-chrome finish. You want to nickel plate for looks, yeh it isn't hard. You want a performance coating? It ain't easy. Try plating gun parts that get hot in Ni-Acetate and see how long they A)wear and B)flake.
We offer the service in our production plating line but do not sell the process for consumers to do. Its extremely difficult and needs to be done on an industrial level.
Thanks so much, Rob! I can't wait to experiment more with this!!

Nice video!!! What is the name of the Green chemical you used to nickel plate the copper shot glass???
That looks beautiful.
Awesome channel! If you wanted to do a larger item, would you need more voltage or more time or both?
Is the difference in brightness very noticeable when you brush it instead of doing the bath?
So if you do just nickel will you have to worry about corrosion?
Yes, You would have to worry about the nickel itself oxidizing.

I want to make electroplate too. But how can I make my own liquid plating solutions?

Gold Plating Services Of course you don’t recommend making your own solutions. You won’t make any money if people knew how easy it is to make...

Your FreeStyle and Universal links are broken (404).
We got them fixed. Thanks for letting us know.
can you nickel plate aluminum ?

Gold Plating Services so you can do it for me is what i'm asking?
Hey guys. Customer here. Why are you agitating the Nickel? My assumption is because of the cup shape. But i figured i would ask. Thanks
John
When nickel is agitated, it performs much better and greatly decreases the chances of having cloudy areas.
@@GoldPlatingServices interesting, i will have to try. Great products and great service. Thank you
