Excellent ! Instead of wasting the golden chance of riding in the cab by mindlessly letting the camera stare out of the windshield , you have in great detail shown the controls of this state of the art loco run by onboard computer and micro processors, being operated by the LP.

what is the sand button above the Horn switch.... he was using it continuously at the start
sand button is to spray sand on the rails to prevent wheel slippage
During the time of heavy load or wet the wheel of locomotive slips, to reduce wheel slip pilot spray sand to wheel by pressing sand button.....

Sumedh Sen sand button is to spray sand on the rails to prevent wheel slippage.

That is for leading the engine on either sides. If it is on lead on one side the engine will lead and on the other side it has to be on test.

WDP locos are my fav locomotives..but i have question.honking horn is a rule honk at particular distance or honk as our wish?
Not only the below mentioned coment but in wdp and wdg locos, the loco pilot has to honk within an an interval of 1 minute. If that doesn't happen the loco will come to a halt and the engine will turn off. This measure is taken to avoid accidents and also to drive people and animals away

Why there are metal bars on glass? What is the need for it? It interferes with viewing! Why can't install tough glass without bars? I wonder how can the drivers see during night at high speed with such metal bars in front of the glass! Nerver seen such bars on trains operating in western countries.
Those are probably for the hailstones or any other object that may damage the glass

@@NIRANJAN863 : That lever is the Independent Brake handle. It can apply and release brakes on the locomotive, independent of the consist. The ring that the driver is clicking , is the independent bail off ring. It is quite a complex thing to understand and for obvious reasons, not easy to explain in a few paragraphs.
When the service brakes are applied by the driver, the brakes on the locomotives come on as well. For a few reasons, it is a good driving practice to keep the locomotive air brakes released and let the train decelerate by using the brakes on wagons / coaches. So, for every brake application made, the bail off is performed to keep the locomotive brakes released. If Dynamic Braking is on, the locomotive air brakes should stay off anyway.
While starting up the train, drivers need to ensure that the locomotive brakes are released. Most of us do use the bail off to ensure the complete release of the locomotive air brakes. I have watched a few videos of this particular person driving. He has a habit of unnecessarily clicking on the bail off ring. Using the bail off once should suffice.
