Just a friendly note for people who are considering moving to Ave Maria- I've lived here for almost 10 years, and yes, it is a Catholic town. That was part of Tom Monaghan's vision when he started the town, hence the name "Ave Maria" ("Hail Mary" in Latin). The big building in the center is the beautiful Roman Catholic Church, where they offer 3 Masses everyday during the week and 6 Sunday Masses (that includes the English and Spanish Vigil Masses on Saturday evenings). It is a thriving parish and a close and welcoming community, with many different prayer groups available to join. The Ave Maria University is on the Newman List of truly Catholic universities and colleges, and a great place to get your bachelors, masters, and/or PhD degree! :)
Is it a good town for a 60 Catholic single female with two dogs? I’m looking for a very small home with a backyard. I don’t have a lot of money. I still need to work full time with benefits.
@@sm5130ThankyouGod It could be. The prices and size of the homes as well as backyard sizes vary depending on what part of town you're in. There are a couple 55+ neighborhoods if you're interested in that.
I live there and actually saw around the area where my house is at one point. I dont know why but that red van at 2:12 never moves, like its always there for some reason, lol.
I’m very interested. I have a son in HS and a daughter in middle school. Coming from the Midwest, we’re looking for a small town feel, good values. I’d love to know more but we’re still a just about 1.5 year away from moving though, but it goes fast!
I love the idea of living in a planned community with a pool but we have an RV. Is there any storage in Ave Maria or close by that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? We may be more interested in something like Golden Gate to be able to park the rig. We will be visiting next month from Washington state. We will be staying in Ave Maria for 2 weeks. Looking forward to checking it out.
I finally got a transfer to Florida from Los Angeles after 14 years. I came across this place in my searches. I was wondering if the commute to miami florida is a realistic possible plan. I got Miami transfer but I Dont want really live there by choice.
Are there condos, gated communities with amenities for single 55+ name, some restaurants , Dr's ,hospitals, CVS, Walmart Publix, and mall.how far are the main rds.ìnternational Airport
Thanks for watching! I do have a video that covers much of this information. There is a wonderful 55+ community and a Publix in the town center. CVS about 20 minute drive and everything else that Naples has to offer is about 30 minutes depending on what time of day you choose to go. Airport is about 45 minutes. But you also have access to Ft Lauderdale’s airport in an easy 90 minute drive. Give me a call at 239-450-5786 and let’s discuss this more!
Looks like a lovely little town. My concern is when living there, is everything based on Catholicism? Hubby and I are both practicing Catholics but it seems like having no other faiths in the area might be a bummer.
Thanks for watching! While the town certainly centers around the university and Catholic church, it is a very diverse community. While there is another church called Fellowship Church in Ave Maria, the towns proximity to the rest of Naples allows for residents to attend other churches in the area. Give me a call at 239-450-5786 and we can discuss if living in Ave Maria is right for you and your husband.
Let me ask a question as a person that lives in the Mid West, never been to Florida. I see a lot of attention given to invasive species in Florida. How bad is the infestation? How often do you see lizards and snakes (pythons), Egyptian Geese etc.?
Thanks for watching! I personally have never seen a python yet, but they are here. I have seen iguanas and walking catfish. Don’t know about Egyptian Geese, I will have to look them up.
@@livinginsouthwestflorida Thank you for the quick response. I would think that if it was bad, then the average person would see them all the time. Most of the UA-cam videos are people actively looking for these things. That is why I like to ask people that live there. Thanks again.

Hi there! Thanks for watching! It would depend on how long of a drive is acceptable to you and where in Miami you will be working. I do know of a Miami-Dade Deputy who chose to live in Ave Maria with his family and commute each day. Feel free to call me at 239-450-5786 if you would like to discuss.
This video could have been more comprehensive, and less self promotion - how many times do we need the same info? Anyway, it is good press. It is a special place, away from the crowds and noise. One caveat - tough place if you are single (at any age).

I noticed that as well. The cost would be double what it is living in a suburb around Chicago. It’s simply outside of our budget. Maybe one day, but not soon
Hi! I suggest you search that type of information via online searches. There are many different websites that give you all the statistics you need to know.
Thanks for watching! We are in Southwest Florida so it is likely to encounter most of those in any community. For the most part, the wildlife leaves us Predators alone. We just need to respect them and their space.
I certainly wouldn’t change your plans of Ave Maria University because of gators. If you are a jogger or like to go for walks, the neighbors dog is frankly more terrifying…lol
Thanks for watching! SWFL is full of all types of wildlife. Even in town has seen bears in the gated communities. It’s never a good idea to leave animals unsecured outside alone.
Thanks for watching! It is a town designed around the university, so their are definitely 18+ there. The town is still in close proximity of all of Naples as well.

Ave Maria is beautiful but very overpriced
Thanks for the comment. In general, Ave Maria has some of the more affordable housing options in Collier County.

What’s the crime rate there?
Hi! I suggest you search that type of information via online searches. There are many different websites that give you all the statistics you need to know.
Collier County police advised that Mrs. Smith Halloween decorations were stolen by some teenagers. That's the worse crime they have seen in years. 🤣
Walking around the town do people encounter gators, snakes, lizzards?

@@livinginsouthwestflorida As someone who's only ever seen a gator in a zoo......this sounds absolutely terrifying
I understand. They really do leave you alone. I’ve walked within feet of one and it didn’t do anything. That being said, I wouldn’t do it again 😂.
@livinginsouthwestflorida Thanks. I was thinking of applying to Ava Maria University but I think now I might go to Steubenville :)
