Been here for 28 years! House prices and rent are driving out the working class that make Naples great in the first place. Something has to break eventually.
Where do the slaves live that served that couple? You know they are not children of rich white living there. Where do the poor that serve in the stores and restaurants for the wealthy??? There HAS to be a balance or there will be robots serving them soon......
small beaches, lot's of traffic, limited beach parking, condo's and stores every square mile. 2 weeks visiting my parents and I was bored and ready to go home.
what is there to do in Naples if you don't own a boat and don't like the beach? Night light clubs ? Go to fort Myers get a chance of getting robbed good chance. I love Naples but it's very boring here and stuck up people everywhere
Naples is screwed. Older/Wealthy and work from home folks have no idea how weak and unstable the local economy is here. This will be the worst season on record for retailers and restaurants as there are no more workers willing to live here. Naples is unaffordable for what it is. And I live here in a million dollar home and it's in a blue collar neighborhood. Not knocking it but let's be real, dropping a mill for a place in a working class neighborhood is insane. Naples will be remote workers and wealthy vacationers, the average person has no place here anymore. To the lady who says it's not hot enough, come and work my job, outside, all afternoon and all evening and tell me it's not hot enough. The heat index has been 102-107 daily. Your skin literally feels like it's melting when you work outside in Naples in the summer.
Ah ha...so that's what the future holds there. I lived in Naples/Marco Island from 2003 - 2019. The first apartment I rented was $799 a month for a brand new 2 br/2 ba on the ground floor. When I left the area in 2019 the same units were starting at $1799 a month plus parking, plus this plus that. I assure you wages did not go up. I was employed as a paralegal for over 15 years and on my return to Canada, I went back to food service. My first paycheck this season with a new employer was slightly MORE than any I ever got as a highly skilled paralegal in SWFL and for less hours...63 as opposed to 80 bi-weekly, and that didn't include CASH tips that ran about $700-$1000 a week. So yeah... there's that. AND if you work for a law firm, especially in real estate, you might as well sell your soul to the devil himself. I had a realtor complain to my boss that I appeared to be incompetent because I failed to send a pre-lim closing statement for her review. He wouldn't tell me which realtor and I was left feeling like shit over this. I later got my supervisor to tell me who complained, and went to my desk to print the email showing I had indeed sent what she requested so I felt relief that I didn't screw up, but when I asked if they were going to tactfully let her know that she "perhaps" made an error or oversight, the response I got was "well...we don't want to rock any boats with a realtor". I quit the next day.
@@sandracooke7286real estate agents in general are entitled, impatient, marginally educated brats living check to check. I’ve been an agent since 2006 and I can’t stand most of them. I wish you the best.
Family has been here 4 generations, and it's changed so drastically, and has almost destroyed the history of this town, so many people have moved here and caused this place to become something too different. Locals are growing to hate the town they were born in, and the people that move here have almost destroyed our culture and lifestyle here
Too many people who do not really live here and just visit in winter. That contributes to lack of community. It is not a family oriented town. It's a tourist destination.
We lived in Naples for 40+ years and saw the overwhelming changes that too place there. While growth was to be expected what growth that happened to Naples and Collier County was totally overboard. There was no interest by the community leaders and politicians to help control the growth. All they could see was more money. Back in the 70's they would always say that we will never allow the west coast to become like the east coast. Well it's well on it's way. The infrastructure such as roads and utilities has never been able to keep up with the growth causing many problems over the years. But again, no one in charge seems to care, it's all about build, build build. One of the saddest things is the total disregard for the history of the community and it's natives and long time residents. It's all about taking care of the newcomers and the money that they are bringing with them. There is very little history left of what was Naples years ago. Probably the worst part is what the cost of living in Naples has become. Over the years they have little by little pushed out the middle class and working families. The cost of housing whether it be owning real estate or renting has gotten totally out of control for the average working person. So many of the people that work in Naples now have to live sometimes an hour away in Lee County as they can no longer afford the cost of housing in Collier County. Don't even talk about getting insurance for your home as the cost is overwhelming that's even if you can get insurance. And if you do don't be surprised if your policy get cancelled with little to no notice. Oh, and don't forget you may need flood insurance too. Naples truly has many very nice attributes especially if your are a retired wealthy snowbird. There is the beach, golf, dining and the arts. What's not to like as long as you can afford it. But for the average working family those things don't mean a lot if they are always working to pay the cost of living there. Many of the natives and long time residents have left or are leaving as they can no longer deal with what Naples has become or can afford to live there any longer. We left and have no regrets what so ever. While Naples will always have a piece of my heart it's not for me any longer. I miss what Naples use to be not what it's become.
Preach!!!! You are 100% correct about everything you said in your comment. The Naples/Collier County officials do not care about anything except money. In fact I would venture to say they actually hate working class people. Everything they do is to get that nect dollar from the extremely wealthy and get the working class people out of here while they kick them in the ass on the way out.
@@CultureEstate Sad what they are doing to the area, especially Marco!! The community leaders should be ashamed!! More crime will follow with what they are bringing!! Turning a Paradise into parking Lots!! People really need to get it together and fight some of this!!
My grandpa moved from chicago to.naples in 1974. He bought his house for $110k and sold it in 2008 for $2.6mm. Was a block north from 5th and the 2nd row off the beach.
NAPLES FL has become too crowded and expensive and I mean expensive. I’ve been here 22 years and there’s a condo going up on every block and street and in a couple years traffic is only going to be ridiculous. If you have a condo, the HOA fees have exploded, if you rent the rent is horrific, if you buy a house, the insurance and property taxes are out of sight so it’s only becoming a place for the millionaire billionaire club.
Born and raised in Naples, parents own a local seafood restaurant. I love how beautiful my hometown is, but the place I grew up in is gone 💔. The growth is out of control. Our community leaders have no regard for preserving what has always made Naples great, its quaint beauty.
Marco Island is being destroyed too!! My Dad came there in the eighties!! The South end is being decimated with monstrosities they are shoving into every square inch and their politicos don't care. As of now they are trying to ruining the neighborhood my Dad bought way back. Nothing like it use to be. It is very sad becoming a concrete jungle. Three n 4 story Parking garages proposed to accommodate beach goers for the day that trash and go! They forget there are real people that live there!!
I can’t agree more with that women that is a local. I’ve been here my entire life and seeing how it’s changing..it’s not but it’s getting to much during the winter to travel to work. Something need to change here
😆😆😆😆😆😆@@Patrick-yh5ydwow what are the odds! Like literally a minute ago I was commenting on a buddy's fb post about how he didn't like Naples, and now I see your comment RANDOM and I live the same town as you 😆 to be fair, this town wasn't always like this. Trust me, I'm a native
I noticed there weren’t any interviews from the people who have a lower income than the business owners. I mean the housing and work situation for those people is not great at all. $20/hr and less, especially if there’s only one adult in the household, can barely afford to live here.
Let's interview low income families? Let's talk about how Walmart only hire the non speaking people, people working fast food making $18 per hour and under so unless you have like 8 people sharing rent you are screwed here I am happy our mortgage is only 1100 per month for a big 3 bedroom 2 bath home No HOA fees Naples needs to wake up, who going to work these low paying jobs? ENGLISH speaking people hahah No it's the I don't care to learn English people just be honest about it. Take a good look around. Let's take a trip out to immokalle FL within Collier county you don't see the white boy picking tomatoes do you? NO mostly illegals and a lot of people who came here Legally back in the day.
We bought a retirement winter away condo in East Naples right after 9/11 when the economy was very quiet and tourism depressed. Since then the area has seen growth to the point where we do our evening dining out excursions in the fall before the Christmas rush and after Easter. For the “season” we mostly dine at home to avoid the crowds and traffic from 5 pm to 9 pm. It is no longer pleasurable to dine out when you feel the pressure to not linger, chat, and sip that final glass of wine while servers are waiting to clear your table for the next reservation.
Thanks for the Update. I am in Sticker Shock in a manner of a Year. Condo in Naples was 220k now a year later over 380k. Unbelievable this price increase. Thanks
This video makes me so sad because Naples is not the sleepy fishing village it used to be. My husband was born here in 1950 (died in 2016). I moved here in 1964. If we did not build our house in 1980, we would not be able to live here. The average American can not afford to live here. The poor service workers can not afford to live here. It's very sad.
Yeah it’s gotten to where most property values have risen drastically because people have extra houses down here that are vacant half the year I feel bad for those who lived here in the past it’s driving all the locals out.
There are pros and cons to every city/town in the United States. Choosing where to live should depend on what you personally like do to with your time, and what you're willing to sacrifice in order to be able to do those things. I'm 100% certain you'll find something to complain about, no matter where you live. No such thing as "the perfect place".
This video is funny! I am a local and have been for many years. Lee county, Collier county is all suffering due to lack of help for jobs that these people come to visit for, and Naples crime rate is huge, even though Naples keeps it out of the news. These investors are ruining what Fort Myers beach and Naples once stood for. You used to be able to come here and get a new experience different from what the tourists are used too back home. And, parking sucks for the beaches!
Nothing to do in Naples but eat. Nice place to go to the beach for a few days but after and a few other things like the Zoo ... Nothing. The heat, running from A/C car to A/C house to A/C restaurant to A/C .... gets old FAST!
One sided coin on this video, Show the homeless that's about 3 miles from 5th Ave. Show the run down trailer parks in.East Naples talk to the local who work crappy end jobs. This is a one sided video
😆😅😁😄 I'm a New Yorker. I love Naples! I'm a huge supporter and understand how God has given me the most precious gift to live in paradise. Each day I wake up I thank God for allowing me to live in Naples!
I was basically raised in Naples for over 25 years. Over the years, we were pushed back into the golden gate estate (basically 45mins - 1hr away from downtown Naples) because trying to live near the downtown area is too expensive. I do love Naples, but I'm in the tech area, and Naples isn't the area for young tech people.
I lived in Naples and taught there for 15 years. I loved it when I came in 2000. But when I moved to the other coast of FL, it had changed so much. I will never regret living there and on Marco Island. Some of the best times of my life were there....But it's uber expensive now, so maybe look more north of FL. But again, I loved living there.
Don’t forget the high car insurance and home insurance. Oh and our state bird the mosquito snakes and flooding. For all the over building that’s going on.
Great video. But how about interviewing people who don't have multi million dollar portfolios.? It's way expensive to live here in Naples, and south Florida in general. The building boom is nuts. The road infrastructure is NOT keeping up and traffic in season is just ridiculous. The worst drivers in all the world are here. I wish everyone would get off their phones while they drive. Otherwise you can't beat the weather.oh almost forgot...not enough boat ramps or access to the water
Do one where people that live here and make around 60k are able to afford living here now, i live here and i want you to show people what they can do with that money which is nothing now, show the truth not only business owners sorry bobba
As a kid in the 80's we used to be able to ride our bikes to the beach without parents and fish all day long and catch lots of Snook and no one would harass you about it. US 41 was one lane in each direction. That was just before Pelican Bay was built by Westinghouse. Pelican Bay used to be hunting grounds for Bear, Turkey, and deer. The yards were just normal grass or rock and were not over fertilized magazine cover jobs that add to this Red Tide problem we have now. We didn't have Red tide like this back then. The schools and sports fields were not locked down to keep the kids out during the weekend. There was a U-pick-it farm where the Creekside plaza is now. It's sad that place no longer exists.
Naples from 87 to leaving before the late 90's , moved there very very young and left a teenager and could bike and feel safe, Tin City was super laid back and fun, nothing crowded, 3rd and 5th Ave. relaxed and super chill strolling, totally different vibes and it makes me want to cry, used to be able to go with friends to Ben N' Jerry's and play all around Pelican Bay (I did not have any idea of how priviledged I was at the time but it was SO SO much chill and lowkey, you could just chill out and swim, snorkle, think maybe once only there was a red tide, ONCE) ..........looks like "The Villages" on steroids/crack now
@@Pigsawjanet oranges and a place that had some sugarcane, I knew I left RIGHT before it exploded, there was no traffic, none, you were not seeing neon Lambo's!!!! I have dreams of the real Jimmy Buffett vibed time and see what it is and know in no way I'll ever be ever to afford living there again, my Dad made out like a bandit then left my mother and I to fend for ourselves so we moved.........."adios Pelican Bay, goodbye Naples and friends"
Lived here 20 years, relocating from Sarasota. If you enjoy fishing/boating/beach combing; year round golf, nearly 2 million acres of Wilderness just 30-60 minutes away, efficiently run municipal services for your taxes - speaking of taxes we are paying same/less than 20 years ago but our house has nearly doubled in value, great seafood, and yes we have lots of traffic in the winter but who cares - retired now pick your time and less traveled routes…AND very low crime as this area runs conservative - bad guys are put in jail. Leave Naples - very unlikely.
Brother, love your videos. Love the new and “locals” perspective that you give in your videos. Aisha mentioned it exactly how we all locals feel about it. Naples is growing and will definitely be a great city for anyone that wants to come over. We will love to have the infrastructure to handle everyone and still enjoy the “Old Naples Florida” we all love. Keep up the good work 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Got to be kidding? This town has changed in the last five years like nothing I’ve ever seen. The amount of people pouring into this little town is driving prices out of sight and working class out of the area. Naples will have to pay a lot more dry up the cost of goods in order to keep peoplestocking shelves
Great video! I'm from New Hampshire, but my dad lives in Naples. I visited on Thanksgiving back in 2012 and enjoyed myself immensely. I decided to buy a guitar at a local pawn shop, and I took it out to the pier one night just to hang out and play. There weren't that many people around, so I knew I wasn't going to bother anyone. After a while, several people gathered around and started singing along. We all hung out for a couple of hours, singing and having a good old time. One couple who was there invited me over to their place for a barbecue the next evening. Of course, I brought along my guitar along, and we had an amazing time. 20 or so people singing and partying on a spectacular fall evening. Beautiful 70-degree weather. Made some new friends. After a week, I flew home to New Hampshire to find snow on the ground.
My husband worked construction on the mansions in Naples for 25 yrs. Had his own business. We moved back up north in 2006 where we are from. To many people, and horrible traffic, especially when snowbirds came down!
I lived in Naples for over twenty years. When a huge price bubble allowed me to sell my house at a large profit I moved to Puerto Rico where you can live much better on a beautiful tropical island. I do not like how Naples has changed.
Homeless and drugs are easy to find in Naples. Easier to find them than an American English Speaking person. Naples is home to the rich and land to screw the poor
I’ve been here since 1984. It was paradise. Then in the mid 90s we had Stadium Naples and the Commissioners arrested for bribes. They paved over paradise. It’s NYC with palm trees now. They paved over paradise
Been to Naples, it’s a lovely place, but would not buy, but rent given hurricanes and Climate Change. Records kept by the National Weather Service date back to 1851. In that time 74 tropical storms and hurricanes have passed within 75 nautical miles of Naples or one nearly every 2.2 years!”
I been riding theas storms out for almost 20 years it's not bad unless you live within 5 miles from the flood zone we been hit with cat 1-5 never left my home and never been flooded been without power for a few weeks during Irma got 3 generators and 100 gallon fuel tank during hurricane season it's not bad. I fear more of stupid drivers who can't lay there phone down.
I've seen just about every Beach town in South Florida and I didn't like Naples. It has restaurants and it's kind of opulent but it's not very visitor friendly at the beaches. The traffic is terrible for a small town.
One sided coin, take a good look around just today I seen prostitutes on Bayshore Rd and 41 in Naples. UA-cam homeless in Naples FL. It's not always what you think
I grew up in Naples and this isn't the same town I grew up in. In the late 80s and 90s I lived directly across from cambier Park on the corner of 8th and 8th. My mom rented our 3 bedroom house for 350 a month. 5th Ave closed at 5 o'clock and now there isn't even a tree I used to climb. None of the houses exist anymore. The town I grew up in is gone. It was an awesome place to be a kid. Now most the people who lived and worked in Naples can't afford to live there.
Whenever you see constant start-up businesses such as restaurants, etc., and within a few years go out of business, think about illegal money being laundered. Illegal money is what built Miami and other cities on the east coast. Now it is happening more than ever on the SW Gulf Coast.
It's interesting to see these comments. We live in Miami Beach and that has become a nightmare (dirty streets, homeless, shootings, drugs, violence) vs its peak in the 90s when it was glamorous , safe and fun. We are moving to Naples to get away from it and it cracks me up that people think 5th avenue and Naples has traffic when you can park for free and avoid it and it's really minimal vs a big city (I guess it's all relative). Folks in Naples either don't know how good they have it or have not lived in a big city. My opinion of Naples after coming here for over 20 years is consistent with this video-a real paradise.
I looked at Naples, pretty extensively, and the real estate prices didn't give the value for what I was looking to spend. I was in the market for something between 1.5m and 2.2m Ended up buying in St Augustine. I got a lot more for my money in St Augustine. But Naples is an amazing place.
Naples native, I want to move to St. Augustine. I’m young with a family and I’m tired of struggling here when St. Augustine still has strong Florida culture and most importantly regular surf and big shore waves at Vilano
Naples is only for older people so if u got kids or ur an adult who wanna party, this ain’t the place for you. Peaceful, but so boring for younger people.
As a teen and student, Naples is honestly a pretty boring place tbh. Yes, we got an amazing beach and amazing housing, but that's pretty much it. There isn't really much to do besides spend money shopping for cloths or going out to some fancy restaurant. The most interesting thing is probably a bowling ally on Goodlette, but besides that, I usually just drive up to Fort Myers to do something fun.
Haha this person was dead center. How many people you see walking the street to clean? NONE it's called paid workers it's. Not the white kids speaking English it's Spanish workers, and the weekend jail program. This person is correct Naples has beaches food nothing else. Be careful in fort Myers alot of shady stuff there.
This is my home and all these out of towners destroyed it and you can’t say that you guys haven’t… this used to be a really good place for the nature of it and it just turned into a real estate frenzy. you’re driving the working class out of here and nobody will do any work for you unless it’s for a high amount of money.Sorry but I’m a builder and y’all are going to hate it sooner or later.
I’ve been coming to Naples since the Seventies and owned a winter residence there for the last 20 years. The Winter is wonderful and perfect. The Summers are horrendous with heat, humidity, and rain. My property insurance is unbelievably high and even my auto insurance is twice what I pay in Ohio. Invasive creatures, like the poisonous toads that have killed many dogs, have also been a recent problem.
I moved to Florida(not Naples area)from Illinois in 2017.I love it but am rely dismayed at the way developers run everything in the state to the disregarding of nature and keeping things on a human scale.BTW I live in a house that was built in 1947.
Property insurance is a nightmare -- insurers are leaving the state due to climate change, and the ones who are here are increasing rates by 25% and more, after these rates had already quadrupled since 2005-6, and more than doubled in the past 3 years. It is very difficult to even find a market to write here, which tells me the carriers think we are all screwed.... need I say more. Affordable housing - must be addressed to sustain the current infrastructure. Not enough will be done, and there will be workers commuting long distances to serve the needs of the very rich. Shame on our government for not investing in people so they can earn a living wage, and for not addressing real estate scams that overinflate our property values. The current bubble of pricing is going to pop (again) at some point, and of course blame will be delved out by all, but it really is no oversight on loan underwriting techniques so that some few at the top get even richer, while keeping the average man/woman down. Healthcare - no doctors take HMO plans in Naples, and while there are dentists on every corner, if you have an abscess or wisdom tooth coming in, you'll be forced to see a dentist for a "consult" and referral, only to have to wait another 2 weeks for an another "consult" appt, w/ no extraction in sight. It is very frustrating. The smaller doctor's offices are bought up by a large group, like Millennium, but that is also the story for America, so in this regard, it's a wash. Education, and the state of Florida, has seen the worst attacks on public education in all 50 states, thanks to the Governor's "Don't Say Gay" bill, & book banning, and with there being no affordable housing and a huge influx of people, the schools cannot handle it, and they are building dorms for new teachers while keeping salaries of existing, long term, dedicated teachers, at a trickling spout. My friends who are educators who never posted about politics are now becoming more vocal, because their own personal security are being threatened (safety, financial, freedom of speech, civil rights). On the positive side, Law & Order AND Mental Health Services -- we live in a bubble - thanks to the Collier County Sherriff's Office. I must say I back the blue. They have kept Naples probably one of the most cared for community when it comes to crime, or at least that's my perspective. I know this just be visiting or working in other surrounding cities. Naples also is a hub for wellness and recovery, with Hazeldon / Betty Ford downtown, The Willough, David Lawrence Center, and St Matthew's House. The Weather - it seems water spouts are now the new normal, and 110 feels like temps with crippling levels of humidity. If you have allergies, it's worse, and most of us do.
Well said especially about the property Insurance, I too have been reading about companies pulling out of Fla. It's one big shit show. The affordable housing situation is a nightmare and dispicable to say the least. But I do have to say I've worked at Naples Community Hospital, & now work at Physicians Regional Hospital & I can 100% tell you that Dr.s here DO TAKE HMO INSURANCE I see these plans every day. Different Dr.s take different plans that's why one needs to check with their insurance provider to see which Drs they can go to.
The property insurance issue is a Florida issue and Naples has done nothing to cause it. It is driven by overdevelopment in east coast costal cities (specifically south beach) Regarding HMO plans; while there has been an influx of concierge medicine into Naples, that is to be expected with an increased tax base. A 20 minute drive solves that issue as does the lack of affordable housing. Affordable housing is not a rite and just because a certain city or area has seen an increase in real estate value as well as influx of wealthy residents does not mean that affordable housing needs to be built on prime real estate. Again a 20 minute drive solves that issue. Your comments on education are anecdotal at best and Florida ranks in the top ten percent of public education in the country (which is extremely impressive in a state that does collect income tax). Look at Maryland and Michigan as examples. Obviously everyone reading this comment knows your politics (and I don’t care who you vote for) but if you are going to bring politics into play, at least don’t attribute statewide issues to a specific town.
Insurers are leaving the State because of lawyers suing them after Irma to rplace a few broken tiles that no longer meet the building code so a whole new roof had to be put on. Not climate change. LOL
Grandmother moved to Naples in the late 80’s. It was a special place in the 80’s & 90’s and I treasured my time there. The neat eclectic shops and my first time at the pier. It makes me sad how it’s changed-and it’s not for the better.
We have a place in North Naples we purchased in 2019. So far we have been renting it out during peak season, visiting in spring, summer, fall and December. In July people at the pool all agreed. We love the summer. Walk into a restaurant and sit down. No traffic. No lines in the stores. Played 18 holes in 2 hours, on two different days. If you're hot, jump in the pool. Can't wait to move from snowy NY.
This video is sadly a one sided coin yes iam Naples we worked 5th Ave for years.I think I will make a video showing the homeless of Naples very close to 5th Ave. Let's see how the low paying job workers views Naples, I will mostly like sell everything here when it's retirement age and take my high profits and leave America and live peacefully away.
for the blue collar worker naples is way to expensive to buy a house now i do pest control and make a decent living but i moved to san carlos park to buy a house i payed 230k for a 3 bedroom 2 bath home on a double corner lot 1900 scare foot under air. Try to find that in naples and you will not. So now i drive 30 to 40 minutes to do pest control in naples during Sesson somtimes it a 1 hour drive home in bumper to bomber traffic
I genuinely think unless you are born and raised in Florida it's a tough transition! I think you have to be a certain person and think a certain way to enjoy living in Florida. I moved from Orange County California to Land O lakes and there isn't a day that goes by where I don't regret it. I moved to FL to get on the housing ladder which I am finally on! But do I enjoy living in FL with the humidity, gloom, rain, bugs, Flat terrain and urban sprawl? Absolutely not!
My folks are moving there and I’m not choosing Florida. Been to Florida ten times and i know it’s what you say: gloomy, too hot for me, bugs and alligators and crazy
There are 2 extremes in SW Florida. I lived waterfront in Vamo Sarasota. The lap of luxury. Drive a little off the beaten path and venture into surrounding areas. Aside from the beggars at intersections, the homeless are living in the woods on the outskirts of town. Southern Living did a podcast showing where the homeless encampments are today. Jose is born and bred in Naples. His podcasts cover all the Southern states.
While the homeless are forced to hide under the news laws, Naples has had murders in gated communities drug deals bust all along 41 and Bayshore. Easy to spot the other side of Naples if you know how to look away from the beach
After listening to this the only one who said it exactly right was the lady that owned the outdoor facility. She was absolutely spot on. Folks that are here now have no idea what it was like 40 years ago. The population today is just a little over 400,000. In 81 the population was around 81,000. What a big difference and honestly I'm not happy about it. Our small town is no longer that and it's been corrupted yearly by ignorant politicians and etc. Being a blue collar worker is a serious struggle here and always has. Those who have it made don't see it through the lives of regular citizens and look down on us. That I've experienced over the years. It's a love hate thing. I've been to other areas and know how much better it is here. In that regard, there isn't any place I'd rather be. Just wish things would get better for the average blue collar worker here.
Naples just doesn't want wrong people to move in from wrong places it's quiet let's keep it that way.which is the right thing . Naples I love I'm a resident and I'm proud of it.
News flash “The wrong people” are already here and more coming in by bus in the middle of the night. There are reports of camps in Treviso Bay and other areas.
PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE. There are WAY too many people moving down here. They are kidding themselves if they think they'll be able to get good service in restaurants or anywhere since the housing prices are so high that a lot of workers are moving away -just like the real local in this video said. The other people in this video aren't locals - they are still in vacation mode and new so everything seems awesome. You're gonna have to wait for your food, Karen. Way too much traffic now during season. It's hard to find a place to park at the beach now which is ridiculous. The median age down here is 65 and pretty much everything closes down at 10pm - including grocery stores. Buy a bunch of umbrellas for the off-season - it rains every day. And, yes, there is crime in Naples. You'll never really hear about it because they don't want to scare away tourists.
Naples has gotten to big for us. We moved a few miles further north to Boca Grande. We are an island community with a toll to get onto island. Our biggest tourist visitors are iguanas. They’ve checked in but not leaving.
As a hard working hands on tradesman, South Coast England landlord who comes round straight after a phone call {yes tenants have my home number] to fix a problem. These monied " passive income" hands off people who '' acquire property assets" like the Canadians are a pain. Believe it or not managing agents are not that good at their job, repairs don't get done in a timely fashion. Could the guy empathise with a tenant ?
The intire US and world has come to Florida and has damaged and destroyed what once was a beautiful area to be born & raised in and call home . Sadding, its the reason I left , way over crowded and absolutely no longer affordable.
This seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
I hope people in Naples respect the natural beauty that is left until it disappears. For me, I'd rather live in Dunedin. More laid back and Honeymoon Island is paradise.
I live in TN and have a place in Naples. I LOVE Naples. Other than Paris, it my favorite place in the world! There is nothing like it. I have a place on Broad, downtown on the water. High season is a little busy but May and October are fab.
Great video! Our home is very close to complete a bit north of naples and I can't wait to enjoy all the beautiful things you highlighted!! Naples pier is truly a magical place🐬
Moved to Naples from NJ 5 years ago and LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! The weather, the food, the people, the clean and beautiful streets, the beaches and the beautiful skies and sunsets...I have to STILL pinch myself! It is TRULY PARADISE!
Everywhere in Florida that is 'pretty' and charming is becoming like Naples. You have to be UBER rich to live in these places, the traffic is horrendous, people are rude to each other, no one seems to care about their surroundings...Fort Lauderale is no longer and becoming high rise nation. There are so many homeless here. I can't afford downtown West Palm Beach (who are all these people that can spend 1.5m + on homes???), Miami Shores - same, Vero beach -- heading there, Jupiter -- same, Sarasota - same, Bonita Springs - same, Winter Park/Orlando -- same. None of the homes are charming in places I can afford -- they all look the same for high prices. They are cement blocks with no architectural appeal. If you want an affordable home, you have to move to rural Florida with their Walmarts.
We moved more inland to rural estates about a year ago now from Broward County. Were in love with peace here and the affordable housing compared to Miami house prices.
It would be interesting to hear about cost for living in Naples or any other part of the west coast of Florida? Even if I pay cash for a house or condo, there are costs for insurance, property tax and probably other things I'm not even aware of? We live in Sweden and visit SW FL yearly. We are seriously considering buy something in FL but we have a hard time understanding actual costs for owning?
Nice video getting other people’s opinions. Nice thoughts. We’d love to find a home about 1600 ft.², one level, we need a backyard for our four dogs and a pool would be nice. Not sure if that’s “doable“ in the $350,000 to $400,000 range… But, we would be open to visiting down there from the Pacific Northwest to find out. My first choice is to live in Hawaii, however, prices there are extremely high.
Sounds like your jealous. I know someone who lives there who in fact did work 2 jobs all her life to finally enjoy the fruits of her labor. Nothing wrong in having $ .... alot wrong in being jealous. 💚
@Culture Estate we will be visiting Naples in 2 weeks for first time and we can't wait! Thank you for all your wonderful videos made easy for us to plan our vacation 😀
Been here for 28 years! House prices and rent are driving out the working class that make Naples great in the first place. Something has to break eventually.
Thanks for sharing
Things are starting to “crash” with the recession we are in. It will get bad.
Where do the slaves live that served that couple? You know they are not children of rich white living there. Where do the poor that serve in the stores and restaurants for the wealthy??? There HAS to be a balance or there will be robots serving them soon......

what is there to do in Naples if you don't own a boat and don't like the beach? Night light clubs ? Go to fort Myers get a chance of getting robbed good chance. I love Naples but it's very boring here and stuck up people everywhere
Destroyed by developers
*You're comments on here, is THE BEST ONE*
Naples is for wealthy people. I never thought this day would come. It is to expensive here!
Amen! You about summed it up!
when you are wealthy you can hit the beach or pool whenever. You dont have to work actual jobs.

Family has been here 4 generations, and it's changed so drastically, and has almost destroyed the history of this town, so many people have moved here and caused this place to become something too different. Locals are growing to hate the town they were born in, and the people that move here have almost destroyed our culture and lifestyle here
yep
Same thing is happening in St Agustine, fl.
100%
How is the culture being destroyed?
I absolutely agree local here and the past 5 years had been so stressful seeing so much change in a short period of time.
I miss what Naples use to be not what it's become.
very valuable. comment, thank you
This seems to be very common all over now
@@CultureEstate Sad what they are doing to the area, especially Marco!! The community leaders should be ashamed!! More crime will follow with what they are bringing!! Turning a Paradise into parking Lots!! People really need to get it together and fight some of this!!
You're absolutely right. Been here since 1981 and it's the toughest ever to live here. The struggle is real.
I will be there next week what is the name of the restaurant?
Naples in my eyes is one of the nicest places in Florida.
Your right. We moved down in 1982. It was nice. But it grew to much, to fast! Left in 2006. No regrets.
Too much building equals too much flooding
I can’t agree more with that women that is a local. I’ve been here my entire life and seeing how it’s changing..it’s not but it’s getting to much during the winter to travel to work. Something need to change here

I noticed there weren’t any interviews from the people who have a lower income than the business owners. I mean the housing and work situation for those people is not great at all. $20/hr and less, especially if there’s only one adult in the household, can barely afford to live here.
no but at least the blonde chick gave here perspective on crazy high rent prices.

This is downtown Naples and they don’t talk about how rent in the other parts cost 2,100 for a one bedroom or more.
Let's interview low income families?
Thanks
The market is headed toward a big crash. We are in the beginning of a recession.
Came to Naples to help family, 20 yrs ago. Alone here now. Disabled Sr. 2 wks from homeless due to 4x rent. Pushed out by out by refugees. Fix it!

I know I miss Naples used to be. The price increases are 10 times what the national average should be
Nothing to do in Naples but eat. Nice place to go to the beach for a few days but after and a few other things like the Zoo ... Nothing. The heat, running from A/C car to A/C house to A/C restaurant to A/C .... gets old FAST!

Exactly! I live North of Naples. You have to be a gazillionaire to afford anything, especially a home. 🤣
If there was a minimum wage set here it would need to be $45 per hour.

Homeless people are everywhere now.
Homeless and drugs are easy to find in Naples. Easier to find them than an American English Speaking person. Naples is home to the rich and land to screw the poor
When I first went to Naples 30 years it was turning into what it’s become. I saw then just what you now see. Malls as a destination is depressing.

I fear more of stupid drivers who can't lay there phone down.
I've seen just about every Beach town in South Florida and I didn't like Naples. It has restaurants and it's kind of opulent but it's not very visitor friendly at the beaches. The traffic is terrible for a small town.
The people from Vancouver need to know that it rains A LOT here in SWFL too.

I feel the same way coming from NJ. Welcome to paradise
Very boring unless you live for cocktails!
You could do charity work. Lots of need for that here.
You can find lots of stuff along the highway
Haha this person was dead center. How many people you see walking the street to clean? NONE it's called paid workers it's. Not the white kids speaking English it's Spanish workers, and the weekend jail program. This person is correct Naples has beaches food nothing else. Be careful in fort Myers alot of shady stuff there.
Moving to Naples almost 20 years ago was the biggest mistake I ever made...
Seems like the influx of people is changing Naples.
Somewhat yes
Yes and not in a good way. The wealthy are not too happy this is becoming West Miami, crime and all.
Well said!
The property insurance issue is a Florida issue and Naples has done nothing to cause it. It is driven by overdevelopment in east coast costal cities (specifically south beach)
Regarding HMO plans; while there has been an influx of concierge medicine into Naples, that is to be expected with an increased tax base.
LOL
Please tell me you're a snowflake without telling me you're a snowflake ❄️ lol

Grandmother moved to Naples in the late 80’s. It was a special place in the 80’s & 90’s and I treasured my time there. The neat eclectic shops and my first time at the pier. It makes me sad how it’s changed-and it’s not for the better.

Yes, Naples was a great place to live in the 80s and 90s, but in early 2000s I sold out and moved to Puerto Rico.
Gazillionaires!!!!
Stay there ! Please
So you are part of the reason workers can not afford to live here. Not totally your fault, but yeah.
@@francismarion6400 100% baby boomers ya know me ,me, i,I, me, me ya know right ! HATE THEM !
Very interesting content. My family lives in Naples and I've been to almost all the spots in this video.
Naples is so new and beautiful
"Quiet"???.....try living amongst nightmare airbnb's
Naples is now a city for people who already have money.
I'm about to leave maybe I'll come back one day because I love it.
Could the guy empathise with a tenant ?
watch out property taxes are crazy
The intire US and world has come to Florida and has damaged and destroyed what once was a beautiful area to be born & raised in and call home . Sadding, its the reason I left , way over crowded and absolutely no longer affordable.
To paraphrase Joni Mitchell:
"They paved paradise and put up a big condo (ooh-bop-bop-bop-bop)."
I'd love to live in Niples.
Relatively speaking... it's better than most places but it's not going to be that way for long.
it's changing and not for the better...
This seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
nope it’s not trust me💀
People are so rude and entitled here. Place for introverts
I really liked making friends with the old timers in Naples through the art and music playing scene.
You have to be a gazillionaire to live in Naples. I live 30 minutes North.
People have moved to East Tennessee, too, and it's been ruined. Overrun with people from the Northeast. They're moving here in droves
Yes, Naples is very nice.
Awesome presentation brother! It is only through your channel that I fell in love with Naples.
Florida! The sunny place where shady people live!
What about the “red tide”?
I visited Naples from deerfield beach...my impression is folks are more reserved and older richer...not as diverse ...? Same with Marco Island
“Landlord friendly” makes me wanna puke
That is very nice to hear.
I moved to naples from NJ 3 months ago and is really boring in here .... specially if you are young....
Why is no one talking about red rides? Isn’t anyone concern?
☝️😡,,HOLD ON... Why only wealthy people? What about people that are working 2 jobs, etc... when your rich, ANY place on planet earth is great...
Sounds like your jealous. I know someone who lives there who in fact did work 2 jobs all her life to finally enjoy the fruits of her labor.
Nothing wrong in having $ .... alot wrong in being jealous. 💚
I'm in GA but want to move to somewhere in FL that doesn't flood +not talking about hurricanes and doesn't have red tide.
I’ve seen bikes just sitting there. Is there a reason or it’s for looks? 🙏🏻

Probably the people who wants to move back to California are missing the homeless, water and electricity shortage, crime etc.etc 🤣🤣🤣
True, I forgot about those amenities
@Culture Estate we will be visiting Naples in 2 weeks for first time and we can't wait! Thank you for all your wonderful videos made easy for us to plan our vacation 😀
