Eh good movie, Rip Thorn though? He was better for movies like MIB. But funny for the OCP role. Terminator ninjas though? The strange irony, look how the US today is with China in economic and capita point of view. Scary and ironic at the same time. Splatterpunks reminded me more of the goofy punk mechanics from The Wraith. Now Rehab and Detroit citizens as the two conflicting factions? AWESOME! And Maco showing up at the last scene as the Japanese CEO to inspect the collateral damage. MEMORABLE! Overall it has it's flaws, it's moments...but still while some areas are SO BAD it is SO GOOD in a B rated like fashion. It's entertaining and Robert Burke is descent like Roger Moore stepping in as Bond after Connery moved on past the Bond films.
@@bigseff23 two was really good to now not as good as the first one but that one has Peter Weller and that’s the best Robocop actor (Peter Weller cause it kind of confused me writing this also second one had Peter Weller it confused me when I read it)

This is from a promo tape they send to video stores! They called them "screeners". They would send a promo version of the movie for the store owners to preview. They would brand the video so you couldn't just copy it and rent it by putting a crawl on the screen that you say NOT FOR RENTAL USE. Before the movie you would have a commercial talking it up from a sale perspective like the one we just saw!
"Hailed by critics as the best Robocop movie ever"... WAIT WHAT? Had some good moments, sure, but mostly cheesy as hell... OCP became a joke and that alone de-valued all sense of threat and all sense of value in the protagonists' efforts. Complete emotional detachment from the movie... The only good thing that came out of it was the Amiga / PC game, which was cutting edge for the time and really immersive.
There was a time when you didn't really have access to what critics had to say so they could just put in whatever they wanted on the ads. Nowadays with IMDB, metacritic, rotten tomatoes etc not so much.
Yeah I laughed out loud when they said “Best Robocop Ever”. Not even close. But, like you say, it did have a few good moments. I think the reason it did so poorly (besides the lackluster script) was that they dumbed it down and tried to make it kid friendly with a PG-13 rating. But they failed miserably. Robocop just isn’t meant to be a family film.
As a 10-12 year old I considered all 3 movies equally amazing. Come on it was Robocop! Now I see that RC3 was weaker, but I still like it alot. Way better that 2014 mistake :)
I remember my mother watching this film. She never was into these types of films but she decided to watch it as there wasn't anything else on. She couldn't stop laughing at it towards the end of the film. It was so bad yet funny to her. The moment that Robocop started flying around, she was in tears of laughter. Best bad film ever. Rest in peace mom.
I love 2:26 when the announcer says that Orion (Orion pictures) "will strong-arm advertising tactics," and we see a black chick getting tossed on the floor by a cop as the announcer said that. I dont know if the ad company that made this video are geniuses or lunatics.
Now first of all, I don't really think "RoboCop 3" is the worst sequel. I know some people were not impressed by this movie, especially a most huge generally negative reviews by critics all over the internet. I really understand. But I think it is quite good and entertaining picture, not as great or amazing as two previous films "RoboCop" and "RoboCop 2", but it does very well. And I don't think Fred Dekker did a terrible job by making it, he did the best he could. As for Robert John Burke as RoboCop, he was good. He wasn't that much of charisma, but he did better. To bad Peter Weller didn't come back and play as Murphy one last time, but, oh, well. Both 1 and 2 were rated-R, this movie is PG-13, probably okay. I think "RoboCop 3" a little bit better as a well-made film of the franchise than people who give credit for it. Thumbs up for me. RoboCop 3 (1993) 3/4 👍
Call me crazy but I consider part 3 to be the second best in the franchise. First one's obviously the best, but like you said, part 3 is a well made film. And despite the fact that the filmmakers did things to part 3 that alot of folks disliked about it (killing off Lewis, replacing Peter Weller with Robert John Burke, making it PG-13, etc.), it is still a fun movie to watch with some very funny lines. Part 2 had some problems (noticably making the old man from part 1 go from good to bad), I still consider 3 the most entertaining sequel and the most UNDERRATED one of the franchise. I give it a 3.5/4. On a side note, Fred Dekker is an underrated director. Anyone else agree?
Robocop 3 was my favorite film of the trilogy not that violent and it brings the story full circle. Robocop finally takes on the people who created him and finds a family in the people of old Detroit.
For what it was I honestly still like Robocop 3..Robert John Burke did a pretty dam good job at being robocop okay the voice isnt the same..nothing compares to peter weller..but burke's movement as robocop was really good.
Kinda fun to see an old promotional video that was only meant to be seen by video store owners. Also fun to see Robert John Burke with a full head of hair. Haha. I thought he was great in the role though. If you guys wanna see more of him, checkout Stephen King’s “Thinner” and an action/comedy called “Fled”. Both great films.
the video store guy explained how it works they pay a 1 time fee for the right to rent out the movie about 200 bucks.if it cost 2 or 3 bucks to rent it out after they recoup there fee its all profit.

Let's be honest. I didn't see RoboCop 3(1993) until I paid for a DVD copy in 2004. It was a HUGE LETDOWN. It turned RoboCop's grimy, dystopic, crime filled world into a bad cartoon. Fred Dekker did a better job with The Monster Squad(1987). The only amazing thing was the music score by Basil Poledouris. A family friendly RoboCop TV show made things worse.
