According to NFL Network, Dak Prescott would need to make quote: 'significant strides' in his recovery from thumb surgery to be ready to play the Philadelphia Eagles this upcoming Sunday night. Honestly, this is a picture perfect example of the differences between expectations and the realities that result from them. Dak was sensational as a rookie when he was thought of as nothing more than a backup to Tony Romo. Cooper Rush is sensational right now because he is thought of as nothing more than a backup to Dak Prescott. If Cooper Rush somehow takes over (he won't, but he has proven he can be an adequate starter in this league), the expectations will rise very quickly and then he will be hated due to the elevated expectations.

Shannon sharp is refusing to accept that Cooper Rush made the throws that matter. Cooper Rush is playing effective football. Dak often times wants to take over the game but he’s not that QB. The team bought in with Cooper Rush since game 1 and you can see it on the field.
Agree. I started watching Cowboys when I met my husband 15 years ago. It's frustrating because I usually don't feel like the Cowboys get beaten, but rather that they GIVE AWAY the game by penalties, turnovers, other mistakes. I like that Rush doesn't showboat. Hey may not be flashy, but we're winning.

More importantly, you need to TEST Cooper Rush. He's done a great job. You need to find out where the line is between being a game manager and a quarterback who can lead you to victory. The game against the Eagles is going to answer that question. You've got the hot hand. Keep rolling the dice.

As long as A) the defense keeps it up, and B) the offense continues to feature the run, the Cowboys should continue winning.
But if "Dak is Bak!!" mania takes over, and suddenly it's all passing, the offense will start losing again, no matter how many gifts the defense hands them.

Matt stafford led the league in interceptions in 2022 and help win a super bowl with the rams also Burrow was ranked 4th along with Mahomes in interceptions thrown so 2 of the top 5 qb’s leading the league in interceptions were in the sb. Dallas didn't look "great", but the difference from this year and the last few was management. Managing the clock and doing nothing to lose once you have the lead. You don't need to win by 30+ if you control the ball and keep your defense from playing gassed every weekend.

Bro, Cooper Rush makes an average annual salary of $977,000. Dak makes average annual salary of $40,000,000. Rush is playing exceptionally well for his pay grade. Multiple TDs, on target deep passes, no turnovers and no mistakes so far. WAY more value than Dak has ever been outside of him rookie year.
There's no actual way you believe the dumb things you are typing about these 2 QBs. Dak is the 9th highest paid QB at this point. If you can't get over his contract, that's just you living in the past, because Dak tried to take a team friendly deal and Jerry refused that contract and waited until he had no other option but to pay his franchise QB a big contract. Dak is better than Cooper Rush at everything, including accuracy and timing and "football IQ" as you put it.
Rush is in the bottom 15 of 3rd down stat metrics so far. Dak is top 10 throughout his career, top 5 last year. Dak won 12 games just last year, throwing for 4400 yards with a 70% completion rate. What the fk do you smoke in the morning to make you so dumb?

Dallas has the best defense in the NFC East and a Top 3 defense in the NFL along with the SF 49ers and Buffalo defense. In the playoffs though you need Prescott to make big throws against elite teams.

How does Skip not see its the offensive gameplan, and play calling that has changed, not Cooper Rush. They need this gameplan with a playmaker behind the snap. Run through pollard and zeke, and open up the passing game with Dak... this gameplan works.
I would keep Rush for now. He's doing well. It's like Wentz vs Foles in Philly.

This is how Dak was able to get the position. He took care of the ball and played within the system. The talent was already there and had been there before he arrived. For the past couple of years he has tried to be the guy and it hasn't really worked out for him. He is good but not 40 million dollars good.

Which is why we should trade him to whatever sucker will take him and if we get draft capital even better. But just taking his 40 mil off would mean we could go sign 2 more elite defenders or olinemen and a defender. Could you imagine this team with 2 more top talents? Who needs Dak?

Cooper Rush has done a phenomenal job, let me get that out of the way first. He is playing the way Dak did in 2016 and there are similarities in the play style. Dak in 2016 was playing just to get the Cowboys through Romo's absence. He played conservative ball and did what was required. Rush is doing the same thing now in Dak's absence. When push comes to shove and the defense has an off day, Dak will give us a better chance than Rush to post 30+ points. When Dak is 100% he will return to the helm, hopefully play conservative ball, and put the team on his back when needed.
On a totally different note....Micah Parsons is a DAWG!
It's cuz Dallas does better with a balanced offense. With Romo and Dak both Dallas got pass heavy and floundered. Qb job is so much easier when you've got a smashmouth running attack to help you. Not very many teams win SBs without it. That said, I agree about dak being better but go ahead and play Rush against the eagles. Let dak heal to 100% and if Rush wins we have a good problem.

What surprised me was why the Rams D didn't commit more guys to stop the run. Maybe they were concerned about getting beat deep? IDK, but Rush is doing what he needs to do to Win. Dak tried to do it all and not utilize everyone. That said, Cowboys need Dak. The D and run game can only play A+ game for so long.

After last year, who would have ever thought we'd see three "NFC Least' teams being 4-1 or better? I realize they beat up on each other to a degree, but there's no way that would make them a combined 13-2. It'll be interesting to see how this division will develop and pan out.
