Building A Bridge Over a Brook With Scrap Lumber and Then Fixing It

  • This spring we built a Bridge over a brook where 3-4 trails meet up. This stream is seasonal flowing the heaviest in the Spring and Fall, but drying up in July and August. While it's not too deep, the crossing robs enough speed to make it annoying and the the water causes sand to stick to your bike. Not a huge deal, but it's something we've wanted to. We waited a few years to build anything here to see how the water flows during different points of the year and after several very heavy rainstorms.

I’m glad you’ve finally got the time to get back to this channel. It’s refreshing to see something other that you barreling down a mountain every once and a while.

Now you have what is possible documented. You can start an improvement plan and implement as time permits. You know wherethe water wants to go, and where you need it to go. Step one complete. Now the real fun begins!

The most dangerous part was not slapping the planks and saying "these ain't going nowhere". Otherwise, keep up the great videos.

2:11 that’s always a scary moment. It like can ya knock it out ? Is it going to shoot like a javelin? Should I just run a flip the breaker?

holy shit the first 40 sec look horifying. If you would trip the way you make the first(edit) cut this could end with the worst outcome :(

@@PhilsWorld I really like your videos and please don't take that in a judgemental way.
Thats not at all my intent.
But as we do things in routine sometimes errors slip in and accidents are never "planned".
So just take it as a hint in regards to safety (or don't as I want to keep watching your videos. :)
