man, this is probably one of the most genuinely down to earth channel i’ve stumbled upon so far!! precious and useful advices without detaching too much from actual reality, just like a guideline we can get inspired from while we do the hard work, and no magic formula to avoid that part; it is work and it is hard, but that’s probably the most interesting part. glad to have found your videos, keep it up! それに、私も今日本語を勉強している、だからこの動画を日本語で見たことがすごいと思う! 貴方の日本語は上手ですね、よくできました! こちらもよろしくお願いします、頑張ってください!
Hey Thank you! that's good to hear. I like to think that real results actually come from a very simple approach. I personally notice that many people with these crazy guidelines actually don't have much to show for it. Just my thoughts though. Glad you like the vids!
Oh my GOODNESS!! You did the first minute in one take!! I can barely get through one sentence in one take…in ENGLISH!! I really love everything about this video. First of all, your voice is calming AF, especially in Japanese. I love how it looks like you filmed it in a relatively short time, as indicated by that beautiful ray of light coming in the window at the end. And then I love how you ended it, both when you said what you’re about to go do and then when you showed the clip of the coin toss. Just brilliant-the whole thing. ❤ Thank you.
Thank you! 🙏 I am a big fan of speaking practice so it helps me just turn the camera on and speak. Just like in English. I don't like all the extra jump cuts because it seems unnatural, and kind of tricks people into thinking that speaking skills are easier than it seems. And thank you! I definitely want to do more of these after I get out these longer videos soon. ❤ Thanks so much!
Hi Vaughn! It’s nice to listen to you. Thank you for such a wise approach in life. I am not sure, as I haven’t seen all your videos but have you explained how you learned Japanese? I know that in some videos you have mentioned some small details… I think this could be really interesting for those that we are trying to learn a new difficult language.
that's the best advice to break things into smaller and easiest as possible units. Interestingly I already know this, perhaps from the book or videos of that specialist Russel Barkley. But I often forget these things to continue and then end up leaving/giving up practice when difficulty arise. I will need to make some visual reminders like a physical journal or notebook. I never maintain anything hard copy which is a big problem. When I got into productivity tools and discovered that planner website, I got lost into it to get the best template for myself, stopped using it obviously. I find the short easy Kunz Canons for piano too difficult and frustrating for me, when I am not that bad at Piano. I have to give it a break and practice the easier etudes like Bartok's Mikrokosmos. Your videos in Japanese wont work and will harm the channel reach, so remember to maintain a niche for the channel. For Japanese you can make a separate language learning channel to share the routines there, it will be great.
Yeah I do think it's important for us to remind ourselves of the process and not get discouraged! And yeah I'll probably still do these here because I don't do UA-cam for the analytics or money (That's what software engineering is for) but I appreciate the idea! If anything I'll probably keep the Japanese videos to my Shorts, since those seem to do well. Then occasionally do long videos in Japanese even if they don't perform well Lol. I don't mind.
@OneStepToday Respectfully disagree about videos in Japanese harming channel reach. Vaughn's videos caught my attention because he actually spoke Japanese, and he has subtitles so I can still follow what he's saying. It makes him more credible in my mind. Maybe a separate playlist about language learning, but a separate channel just makes more work for me to find his stuff. I like the mix.
I disagree with you as well friend. Remember what he said he doesn't do it for the views. He is doing it for mental health so that people also unlock their full potential. He doesn't care about the views. It seems that you do care about views and others their opinions. Correct me if I am wrong sir,
Hey thank you!🙏 glad you're liking the content. And yeah the videos I do completely in Japanese don't seem to perform well, but I will still do them because I really enjoy it.
@@vaughngene It's really helpful to learn about things you talk about in your videos also about continuing releasing videos in Japanese - absolute gigachad decision, I wish you luck!
@@vaughngene I hope you do keep posting them, even if they “under perform.” Back when I was a blogger, I used to feel bad about posts I made that didn’t seem to be what people wanted, but then that meant I would have to make more and more posts of what seemed to keep people happy. But then that started to make me unhappy because I wanted to create posts on all different subjects, based on my interests. Once I realized that some posts were just going to be more widely loved, and more likely to be clicked on (chocolate chip cookie recipes or potato recipes, for example), then it freed me up to keep making some of the posts I knew I would love but not everyone else would love.
