  • Cha-am is an amazing beach town located about 174 km south of Bangkok and 30 km north of Hua Hin. It’s a popular vacation spot for Thais that want to escape from the city and relax on the coast. Cha-am is much more sedated than Hua Hin to the south and more of a locals beach compared to having the larger resorts.
This is a wonderful market for some amazing Thai food as well as shopping in Cha-am Thailand. Located near the train station this outdoor market sets up in the evening from 5-8 p:m. There is something for everyone here from tradition Thai street food to more exotic foods like duck neck and brains. Enjoy the video!

If you like markets like this take a look at one I made from the all night market next to the worlds largest Buddhist monument, an enormous Chedi.

Thanks for this, we’re moving there in a couple of weeks from Isaan. Great to see Thais enjoying their own country. The food info was great, nothing new to us but the presentation was great compared to so many other farang vloggs who wiz by at breakneck speed. Probably too late now but some info on long term rentals in that area might be a topic for other expats planning a move from up north. The air pollution right across the top of Thailand is a danger to everyone health these past few years and many like us are selling up and moving to more southern chimes. Cheers.

This market was a lot of fun. Many of these places are hit or miss right now on if they will be busy or empty. I was very happy when I found this market and it was much better to visit compared to the night market just south in Hua Hin. I try to show the food the best I can. Your right some videos people blast through and everything is a blur.
As far as long term housing in this area I really don’t have a clue. It was my first time in Cha-am so I’m not much help. I do know way more about Bangkok since that is where I’m based out of since 2009.

Was there in 2014 - guess it has changed since then, but very nice place. Mostly Scandinavian expats (I'm Danish). Not too busy :)

It was my first time in Cha-am. I always went past it for some reason. It’s nice with being spread out so no single area is too crowded. The Scandinavian expat community seems to still be there and very large.

I pass on that stuff. My wife eats it up and I let her lol I’ve found a few other parts of the chicken I like better.

    Where is the nightmarket?

It’s probably about 150-200 meters from the train station. It sets up along the street. There is a big building off to the south where they have more of a permanent morning or day market there. I can’t remember the name of it off hand though.

The night market is very close to the train station in Cha-am. The road is Thanon Naratip (Thanon is the Thai word for street) it’s maybe 2KM from the beach. If you follow that road east from the train station it takes you right to the beach view point. There are many hotels just south of there within 100 to 500 meters. A great website to use in Thailand is Agoda for hotels. It’s what I always use when I travel.
