I just purchased the 2024 Nightshade edition SE AWD! It literally has everything I need and nothing I don’t. I’m very satisfied knowing it’s going to run practically forever. My Mom’s Camry is a 2001. That’s 22 years old! She’s only ever had to replace her radiator and her water pump. Those two things broke but I think she did pretty good. Other than that, it’s just been regular oil changes, maintenance, and making sure her battery is good. She could hop in that car and drive it anywhere and it would be fine. All my aunts drive a Camrys. They run forever.
This car makes a lot of sense on so many levels. I got rid of my V8 truck (I do miss it) for this car in black, SE model. Truck was killing me on gas as I have a 1 hr + commute. I have 70k on mine, not a single issue. (Can't say the same about the truck). It also still rides as smooth as the day I picked it up. Gas bill has been literally cut in half and so has insurance. I paid sticker for it (wasn't marked up). It's almost like it's putting money back in my pocket. I feel w andriod auto it has just the right amount of tech for me, no regrets. To anyone looking at one, you will have no regrets owning it. It makes a lot of sense on many levels.
A/C is excellent, per my experience. On my Ford, the AC quit working at around 120,000 km's. I never really even used it all that much, so for it to fail was very disappointing. Camry is now at 100k km's and zero issues, still.
The worst part about it is that he is probably right. Instead of just turning the system off (which is literally just one button press), they'll rather sit in the lane with their blinker on, thinking they beat the system.
Hey Scotty, just fyi in eco mode, when stepping on the pedal it will bypass eco mode with a delay. If you feather the pedal the cpu tries to keep the engine under certain rpm. It also does things at idle like lower power consumption with ac and light i believe. I just keep eco off, still get 44mpg with my wife's 18 Camery on the hwy
My daughter just got one! She loves that there are still TACTILE controls! And, It's a CAR, not a "crossover" or SUV. She wanted a CAR. She got a CAR. The '24 Camry is likely one of the last cars that's ...a car. I'd go get one while you can.
My wife just bought same car today, brand new because all the used ones where only 3k less in price, a no brainer to go brand new, exact same car only a 23❤
I recently rode in a two year old Camry. It rode like a stage coach compared to my 17 year old Lexus. I prefer the quiet smooth ride. The Lexus is a GS and is a good trade off between luxury and performance. Get a good used one and save a ton of money also. Additionally, these are all built in Japan where quality is truly 'JOB ONE'.
Just purchased my first Toyota Camry SE Nightshade and I love it. So much fun to drive compared to my Honda Accord Sport with CVT. Sounds like a cheap sports car haha. I think I’m a Toyota dude now.
Naaaah this dude is too funny 😂😂😂😂 Im 21 & I just bought this car yesterday & Im on youtube seeing what others think about it. I’ve never had anything close to this so im AMAZED More than most people i think. Bc others might say the car is boring or whatever the case may be. But yesterday I owned a 2013 Chevy impala now I own a 2022 Toyota Camry. The experience is mind blowing to me
@@skrapelotto Hope you are still loving it. I just crunched the numbers on the Camry against a Tesla Model 3 to poke fun of a EV freak that drank the entire jug of EV Jesus’s koolaid. Well done youngster, you made a wise decision in this 50 year old auto technician’s opinion. Way to spend your money wisely.. If I was to buy a new car it would be a Camry. Don’t need one but might end up with one soon.. lol
Just drove one of these from So Cal to Las Vegas round trip for a work event. Nice comfortable ride and amazing on gas. Tried out the sports mode. All modes felt very similar.
I sold my 1988 Corolla with 320K miles because the clutch wore out my knee. Then bought a 2018 camry, which only had 16k miles. I enjoy the way it rides and the power it holds!
Wife bought a low mileage theft recovery 2020 Camry, almost identical mechanically to what you described. Black on black, and she regularly gets over 40 mpg on the highway. We test drove one that "hunted" between 7th and 8th gear and the one we bought is solid and cruises ridiculously low rpm at 60 mph. I'd definitely buy another.
I was at work yesterday and looked out at the parking lot and saw a row of Camry’s. These are almost like sports cars to drive. I rented one to replace my Pontiac Grand Am, which was plagued with problems until I finally had to sell it. The Camry was a beautiful gray one that got loads of compliments. My neighbor begged me to get it back. I’m looking at the RAV4 now because it’s more comfortable on my back to sit up higher.
Purchase a 2019 Camry se less than 20k last year and absolutely love this car! It handles great and the 4 cylinder gets great mileage and has good performance
Just traded in 2009 Camry LE for 2023 LE AWD, as I need it in snowy/icy PA. Still learning about the car - much different from the 2009! Found a way to turn OFF the buzzing because I got insulted that the car insinuated I didn't know how to drive if I got too near the middle line lol! Haven't tried out AWD yet, but will be happy to see if it works!! Love this car! Definitely recommend!
OK, was able to try out the AWD today. My driveway was plowed yesterday, but overnight we got another 1-2 inches of snow and the temps today are freezing or a few degrees above. I took a chance and went out... Was able to successfully get down and then back up my mountainous driveway, even though parts of it were sort of icy!! So I am very happy about that!! AWD works great!!
@@rajgrewal4454 I have a 2023 AWD camry and we have a lots of snow here. I mean we got almost 2 feet of snow this week. The AWD system is awsome. It seems as good as my previous car (impreza). I would say even better, but I also have better tires on my camry (nokian R5).
I have a 2016 with traction control only and drove about 180 miles on snowy/icy roads and didn’t feel like I was out of control for one minute. I think I’m convinced against AWD as they can be more costly to maintain.
19 Camry SE owner and it's good to hear they've been improving the transmission. Mine really annoyed me with the infrequent catching, pausing, etc until I took it in for the software update that helped a lot. Much improved now, but still definitely not "crisp" like Scotty says the new ones are so it must be incremental hardware revisions.
What are you talking about lol he is literally driving one. It's a computer driven car. Not a hot rod my guy. It's a 8 speed transmission; what are you expecting? 😂
LOVE my 21 Camry SE. Great AWD, smooth ride, great exterior, comfortable seats, plenty of trunk space, etc. She’s not fancy but she gets me from point A to point B with ease, even if the weather’s bad
@@matteidens62 This is disappointing. It’s really saying something that a 2019-2022 Jeep Cherokee is a better smoother ride than what’s out there now. And I have been testing just about all the newer SUV’s.
I have a boring 2022 RAV4 Hybrid. It is slow, not sporty at all, but reliable and gets 40 MPGs, and allows me to mix in with traffic and hide in plain sight. I am very comfortable in it, even though I've ridden in many other vehicles more comfortable on 2+ hour trips.
It's "reliable" largely because it's not sporty. Its driving dynamics do not inspire "hard"/sporty/fun driving nearly in the same manner a CX-5 will, for instance. A car that's not not driven hard will see a lot less wear in its driveline components.
Wow, that is impressive! My 1998 Camry LE has only 142K miles on it and I bought it new almost 27 years ago for $21K. BEST car I have ever owned. Leaks some oil, though, and it may just be from the valve cover.
I love my 2018 Camry XLE hybrid. It has enough power and gets mid 40 to low 50 mpg depending upon type of driving and temperature. Great for long trips when I can go at least 500 miles between fill ups.
Good video. I own a 2018 Camry XSE . The first year of this new generation of camrys. It does hunt for gears some on the highway, and it wants to turn a corner in third gear ( sometimes even 4th) meaning it has zero power till I paddle shift down to second where it should be. Toyota should really give owners like me a flash update to what the new software is. One more clarification about it not having auto start/ stop. That’s because it’s a 4 cylinder Scotty. If you get a highlander or something with a v6 or larger, Toyota has it on there.Everyone uses it to bolster their mileage numbers, and may even be required by EPA. I hate it as well.
I just bought a black xse with the red leather interior, and I could not be happier. The looks, the mileage, the comfort. It has everything, and I'm so glad I sold one of my other cars to get it
I have one of these. The only problem is the owner's manual says to be gentle with it the first 500 miles, but that's the driving pattern the transmission learns. So i gave to put it in sport mode to get rid of flat spots from early upshifting.
Camry TRD is a joke compared to say a Porsche Cayman S. Better than a Camry, but not a true sports car. But it's also not their target market, I get it.
We almost bought one in 2017. Our daughter got t-boned in her Honda van (she was ok) but they only gave her $6,000 so we sold her our old 2008 Corolla. I wanted to buy an Avalon but my wife said it was too big. We looked at the Camry and she noticed a cute green car. It was a Prius and she loves it.
Love my sunroof in 2001 Corolla. I keep it cracked open for airflow but have the slide cover only open a few inches. Never leaks. Also leave it cracked on hot days when I park. Keeps car much cooler. Just my 2 cents on why I like a sunroof.
Scotty is my favorite curmudgeon...! I used to be Camry hater, too until my best friend's grandmother gave me her late husbands 2007 LE. It's no performance car, but it rides smoothly, quietly and without any trouble. After running through it with new tires and so on, I've been driving it for almost a year and it's been great...!
I have a 2015 Camry SE and love it, the suspension is a little firmer than in an LE model. No rustproofing, just a paint sealant every 6 months and oil change every 8,000km My car looks like new after 8 years.
My 2001 Solara finally kicked the bucket when two cylinders were misfiring and the exhaust had a hole in it 😞. But I got a 2016 Camry and it’s better in almost every way. 😊
Love my 2007 Toyota Corolla I got because of Scotty. Few bugs had to fix, been perfect little car since. 150k miles, ice cold a/c, very comfortable drive. I want to upgrade to BRAND NEW CAR in the future, this Camry would be it! 🚙
I'm very satisfied with my 2019 Camry SE. To top it off, I got it brand new out the door for $27k even plus 2 years free maintenance. Oh, I also have the model year that still had its screen integrated on the dash.
I have the same car, too. Love it, best car I've owned & I've had many being in my 60's. Recently got 45-46mpgs driving on the interstate in FL & GA. Super smooth, with plenty of power.
What do you guys think about wind noise while driving your camry? While on interstate I have to turn the radio up more than I like to. I had an Buick 15 years ago, that car was as quiet with windows up, as a phone booth. Do anyone have this problem with a 2015 camry? Tell me your thoughts please.
I bought a new 2022 Camry SE in 2022 and love it. My daily driver before the Camry was my 2010 F250 diesel that gets 12 MPH so with the saving on fuel cost my Camry pays for itself.
I just lost a lot of money with the Cruze, decided enough is enough and traded it in for a Camry. The relief from not having to worry about the car is priceless.
I've got a 2002 Camry with 147k. Bought it with 55k. Not a beautiful car but never any real issues. Worth more to me than I could sell it for. Got rid of a 2015 CRV to get a 2018 Sienna Xle when i retired. So much more comfortable for traveling.
Plus it looks great. I got the se in Calvary blue with black wheels black out trim. People wonder what car it is so I guess it stands out in a sea of white Camrys
I have always had a Toyota along with what ever other vehicle we have had. We are one year into our 2020 Camry XSE and we are loving it. We traded a 2000 Avalon with 175000 miles on it and it was still running good! You would be hard pressed to beat a Toyota for longivaty... 🎉
I drove the ‘18 Camry SE a few years ago and I just fell in love with everything about it. People did complain about the engine being buzzy at higher rpm’s but I think it’s pretty cool. A “sports” car should have some engine noise to it.
My partner has this car and I drive it often 10/10 very smooth, gas is great and extremely easy to maintain it 70k miles strong so far, very spacious and completely comfortable ride. I agree 1000% Also the aftermarket support for this car is pretty great too, you can make them look nicer in many ways!
The lower spec models of Camry's have the infotainment system fully integrated. In New Zealand, you don't get the 8-speed automatic unless you get the v6 model. Most non-hybrid 4 cylinders here get the 6 speed.
I love my 2020 Nightshade SE. Paid under $27k. Had to get rid of the sporty tires for the great cross climate tires for quieter ride. 42-45 highway mileage is awesome
For me the camry started to look really nice in 2009 when my mom bought an 09 XLe hybrid. It was my first time and I fell in love with it I bought a 98 Toyota Camry XLe with a 3.0 V6 engine. And I hope to be able to buy a Trd when I have enough money saved up.
Shocks the entire car industry!! LOL. Is he serious? I'm sure BMW and MB and Tesla are shaking with fear right now. It's just another boring Toyota. The front is ugly. So the TRD is a V6. My BMW or Benz will blow them away. They are still boring Toyotas.
@@InsighterofTech I actually do like the hybrid versions but the unfortunate part about it is with my 09 hybrid I have to use heavy duty suspension and engine mounts because Toyota didn’t use a strong enough material in the original parts
Recently purchased the 2023 Camry SE for 29k out the door and I’m in love with it on the gas mileage. Also, it is so smooth and comfortable. Miss the Bimmer but this will keep my wallet happy.
And reliability of Camry is second to none. I had German 4 x 4 before and they were pain to repair due way too complicated, using so many plastic parts, prone to deteriorate, cracking and cost way too much if mechanic ends up fixing.
What a coincidence I just bought a 2021 a week ago. I absolutely love it. I was spending almost $200 a week on gas with my Escalade EXT. Now I’m only spending $40

Got a fully loaded 2.5L 2019 XSE. The seats are fully softex "leather", the infotainment screen is lower and part of the dash. The pano roof is HIGHLY underrated. I was an Uber driver for a while, and driving people through downtown at night with all the neon lit up on the buildings was pleasing to see above. I got many tips over the pano roof. Up to about 175,000 miles. I've replaced the two forward bearing hubs and that's it outside normal maintenance.
I really like Scotty, I have a 2021 Camry and I have concerns about the 8ATM transmission but with this video I get peace of mind .. Thank you. Great 👍
We had the Toyota Camry here in the UK, but it is no longer sold here. However, Ireland and some other European countries still have it. The European spec uses a 2.5-litre hybrid system only.
I recently flew back stateside to visit my mom and used her 2021 Camry while around town. It is a pearl white sport model, fully loaded, with red leather interior and black flooring/accents. That Camry is a real looker; performant...comfortable...sporty handling...nice sounding...with excellent fuel economy. I own (or have owned over the years) a BMW X3 30e X drive M- sport, BMW 530, Porsche 964 & 993, Audi A6 Quattro...fun cars to drive and each with its own character. That Camry fit the bill for me. so quaint.... my grandchildren are going to love this video in a few years, when they want to see how we used to travel 'in the old days'....I think a lot of people are going to miss Toyota, but that's life I guess.
I rented an LE for a long distance trip & drove it a few thousand miles because I didn't want to put the miles on my car. It's an excellent comfortable car you really can't go wrong with it. I rented a Corolla a few years before the Camry for a similar trip and HATED it. It's too light and got pushed around like crazy on the expressway by high winds. The Camry is just right.
I have the 2019 Camry SE (pretty much the same thing as this one) and I love it. 114,000 miles and it doesn’t do any of that gear hunting or transmission hesitation that a lot of people complain about. I think that was just the 2018 model. My dad’s 2018 Camry does it. Even the ones that do gear hunt and hesitate are still reliable, but it’s just annoying.

I’m thinking if trading my falling apart Silverado for this new awd Camry.
I'm in the same boat with my Titan. Looking at this and the Mazda3 hatch. How's the ac on these cars?
A/C is excellent, per my experience. On my Ford, the AC quit working at around 120,000 km's. I never really even used it all that much, so for it to fail was very disappointing. Camry is now at 100k km's and zero issues, still.
I just got a 2024 toyota camry se came from a 2005 subaru wrx miss the manual transmission tho lol
Excuse me what year is that Camry?

I recently rode in a two year old Camry. It rode like a stage coach compared to my 17 year old Lexus. I prefer the quiet smooth ride. The Lexus is a GS and is a good trade off between luxury and performance. Get a good used one and save a ton of money also. Additionally, these are all built in Japan where quality is truly 'JOB ONE'.

My wife had 3 camrys already fast reliable never any issues a 2010, 2015 and 2020.🤣
I sold my 1988 Corolla with 320K miles because the clutch wore out my knee. Then bought a 2018 camry, which only had 16k miles. I enjoy the way it rides and the power it holds!
Wow! You got your money back on that 88' Corolla!

How does AWD work in the snow & what was MSRP
OK, was able to try out the AWD today. My driveway was plowed yesterday, but overnight we got another 1-2 inches of snow and the temps today are freezing or a few degrees above. I took a chance and went out... Was able to successfully get down and then back up my mountainous driveway, even though parts of it were sort of icy!! So I am very happy about that!! AWD works great!!
I’m waiting for mine to be delivered! ❤ pearl white all red interior ♥️

When did you take it in for the update? I just bought a 19 se from Toyota dealership, ya think they had it up to date?
The hunting or whatever is because it's adaptive transmission it learns how you drive n gets better over time. My 18 is fine

@@idairfranco4312 hahaha good point. He prob meant to convey how content he is or that he’s confident in that it will prove reliable over time
It's "reliable" largely because it's not sporty. Its driving dynamics do not inspire "hard"/sporty/fun driving nearly in the same manner a CX-5 will, for instance.
A car that's not not driven hard will see a lot less wear in its driveline components.
The RAV4 Hybrid with 219 hp is certainly NOT slow.
Yooooo, I just bought a 2023 Camry SE! I really enjoy driving the car, and thanks for making this video. :-)
Got a 1998 Toyota Camry with 350K, original engine, tranny, AC/heat still works!
Wow, that is impressive! My 1998 Camry LE has only 142K miles on it and I bought it new almost 27 years ago for $21K. BEST car I have ever owned. Leaks some oil, though, and it may just be from the valve cover.
I love my 2020 Camry XSE fully loaded HUD and all other accessories included. 40,000 miles used excellent condition. Nice ride and I am 72 years old.
I have a 2018 Camry se with 208k miles. Only complaint is that the transmission gets lost with gears . Other than that this car is super comfortable
I love my 2018 Camry XLE hybrid. It has enough power and gets mid 40 to low 50 mpg depending upon type of driving and temperature. Great for long trips when I can go at least 500 miles between fill ups.
Scotty! If I had to buy a car right now, you just so!d me! You are Toyota's best salesman!
Because of Scotty I bought a 2018 Camry 4cyl 8 so SE w sunroof and 18” factory alloys

2012 camry v6 70,000 miles. Deeply in love it. Hoping to have it for a long time. Only thing I had to change out was the horrible stock radio
I have one of these. The only problem is the owner's manual says to be gentle with it the first 500 miles, but that's the driving pattern the transmission learns. So i gave to put it in sport mode to get rid of flat spots from early upshifting.
