We owned two Toyota Tundras The last one we had was a 2008 which we sold to our son-in-law because it was a safe powerful vehicle and he travels 2 1/2 hrs to work with it twice a week.. He still has it, and it has over 200 thousand miles on it. We looked at a new Tundra but was disappointed. The quality was less. And I resent the STAMPED logo on the back of the truck. It is an expensive truck and they cheapened it. My husband ended up buying a Ford F-150 with an aluminum body and a special engine which gets 22 miles a gallon around town! This is a big truck, 4 doors extended cab. We love it. I have a 2018 Camry LE with a 4 cylinder engine. I LOVE IT. I get 33 miles per gallon around town. I am a Toyota devotee, but was disappointed with the new Tundra.

Hi this is Mike, Scotty did you try to contact me?
When I buy a car, I email multiple dealers with all their email addresses in the TO field. I give them the car model I want and get them to bid for my money. I share each offer with the other dealers. Bought a new Venza XLE listed for $42K for $33K. It works!
Wow. TYVM. ❤❤❤
Prove it
*Ron burgundy*
"I don't believe you."
Yeah, prove it!
You should buy American and buy American cars. Venza is all made in Japan and China! Support USA manufacturing!
The best car is one that's paid off! 😆

And that stays out of the shop!

We have a 2022 Corolla Hybrid, actually leased currently but we are going to buy the thing...great little car, getting 50 MPG combined and it's surprisingly fun to drive. Love it!
Corolla hybrids are very popular here in Europe, especially the Touring Sports.
The Corolla Touring Sports offers 581-598 litres of trunk space, which makes it very practical, something that most SUVs just can’t match.
Wish they updated the infotainment system. Looks so ugly.
I've got a Rav4 hybrid and it's great. No problems, spacious interior and good mpgs.
Cool
SUVs always got a smaller trunk than the comparable station wagon. It's a myth that SUVs are practical.
@@GT-pl1wx A lot of people who hate station wagons believe station wagons just aren’t as practical as SUVs, but if we look at the Corolla Touring Sports, the trunk is larger than that of the Nissan Kaškaj, Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester, Mazda CX-5 and Toyota RAV4.
However, the only crossover that I could think of that has a larger trunk than station wagons is the Citroën C5 Aircross, at 720 litres.
I drove a 22 Corolla as a rental to test it out and loved it. The dynamic cruise control is an awesome feature and the car really drives amazing.
I got the same car - 2023. LE. Non hybrid however. I’m enjoying the 2.0 engine. 169 HP. More pep than the hybrid. Still getting 40 mpg. The adaptive cruise with lane tracing is really cool. Oh, and the non hybrid has a spare tire!
How's the sound system?
@@benoit.b9337 They can ALWAYS be better than on an econo model

Steel tires are heavy and would bring the economy down which if you're going for a hybrid, may be a priority. I'd still want one though and looks like you could fit one in.
@@benoit.b9337 good. Wireless CarPlay
I got the same car in CA with the same deal. I’m happy with it. Truly getting 50 mpg combined.
Sounds good! Is the ride as comfortable as a Prius?

I got this as a rental and drove all around town for 2 days. Didn’t tell us it a hybrid so we bought the gas so we didn’t have to worry about it when we brought it back. It seemed like the gas never moved. It stayed the same for 2 days driving on the freeway and all around town. Wow I’m sold.
50-60mpg
I have the same one bought 4 years ago before the pandemic with 24 in NC. I get 60 mpg from driving 95% in the city. Zero problems so far.
Love your attitude Scotty! Keep up the great work 👊
Drove the previous model a few days ago, feels like driving a cloud, moves really well, super comfy. Thinking of getting the new model that is more powerful and has really low consuption.
How Scotty has been able to keep up with new technological stuff is pretty impressive. If he can why won’t I use my head as a young man!

Just bought one of these a couple of weeks ago, it’s been an amazing car!
I believe you 😂
Wow. I actually agree with you Scotty. This will be my next purchase. I don't know about the steel wheels though. Third-party alloys really aren't that expensive.
My daughter just bought this vehicle in AWD hybrid LE trim. Traded in her 2009 Prius with high mileage. She likes it. Good value for the price point. Hybrids are the sweet spot in battery technology.
I bought the 2022 Hybrid Corolla last year new and have been driving it for 12 months now. I absolutely love it.
I get 61 to 65 mpg. I am not an aggressive driver...lol. My work trip is half highway and 24 miles total....and fairly flat land.
I just bought a new Toyota cabin filter and a new engine filter yesterday for $60. It is important to know that the life of this car is in the care of the many filters throughout the car.
Thanks for reminding us that we don't have to buy locally. The Corolla hybrid is projected by Consumer Reports to be one of the most reliable of all vehicles.
22,600 for my le with the convenience package. Drove 1 hr to save 3200, and it to was made in Japan
VERY< VERY interesting! Thanks for the Heads-up on this Hybrid!!!
I'm shopping for one of this right now but I didnt want to buy till I have Uncle Scotty's blessing...now my mind is at ease.
While my 2014 camery was in the body shop recently, I had a Toyota rav4 which I liked a lot. I looked up what new ones are going for here in Atlanta. It was a same thing here 30k at least. I bought the Camry used and just paid it off. It only has 97k miles I'm keeping the Camry for another 2-3 years at least.
If it's anything like my 99 Solara, it will last beyond 200K miles.
Happy Monday!
Scotty I have always enjoyed your videos and I've always have had to lower the volume before I start watching your videos!! keep up the good work!
You can't go wrong with a Toyota hybrid. I've had 2 Camry Hybrid and they have been great!
Lucky, because my 2008 Camry hybrid needed a new battery in 2015 just under 200k miles. Did not justify the $6k repair so I bought a 2007 V6 for that cash. Still alive like new.
What year
I have a 2020 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE and before that had a 2014 Camry Hybrid XLE that I put 90000 miles on and did nothing to it except oil changes, tires, and air filters
@@karaobey3085Your cars are still brand new in Toyota standards and should last many more years. Your battery and generator are both still under warranty. But I’d keep an eye on it once the ten year warranty ends on the 2014 next year, push the dealer to replace it if you hear any funny noises or generative issues, that’s how mine started to fail.
@@andrewgus8763 so u spent $6000 to buy a V6, instead of replacing the battery. Did u do calculation for last 7 years, how much of fuel cost you would have saved?
By the way, battery prices came down alot. I have installed one in my car, bought a used car 2012 model. Already had 400000kms on the clock. Installed a new batter for $2850AUD. That would be around 2100USD...
this video gonna drive the price up😂 jokes aside, I'm glad Mr. Scotty got to make a video with the new Corolla hybrid. I'm still debating whether to get the gas or hybrid version.
My Prius is 2007 . Very reliable! I have just short of 300,000 miles on it. It is a gift that keeps giving
Mist R…..it all depends on how long you own the vehicle for.
it was a bad deal for me. My 2014 Toyoya Prius C gave me the dead hybrid battery warning past december at 101K miles. 7mo and 1K mile out of warranty. Dealer wants 5K for replacing the battery. I calculated that it would take 200,000 miles driving a hybrid to pay for 5K in gas savings.
@@DeepRthought I'm sure you save money from other maintenance like less wears on your brakes and engines.
Get the new Prius.
Got myself a 2023 Silver Metallic Corolla Hatch XSE and it's a fun drive. Dressing her up like last year's Nightshade Edition, too. I'll stick to my little 2L 4 banger.
4:57 ergo dynamic! i love it
This is why I went for the sr5 Tacoma. Didn’t need the locking diffs with the Pro or TRD off road or the bigger infotainment screen and hood scoop with the TRD sport. Just needed a v6 and 4wd. Those upper trims were $4k-$8k more!!
Tundra SR5, 4WD, 5.7, 16.2 mpg, quiet inside, in fact, quieter that our past 2021 Rav4 Hybrid. My brother has the same as you. Happy camper too! Good luck. 500,000 miles or more😊!
I just picked up a 2023 Corolla ce comes with the alloy wheels and exterior upgrades, paid 25900 msrp I’m averaging 46mpg with mostly freeway driving. Great car
Toyota does not see 2023 Corrola "ce" in the USA. You must mean LE, or you live overseas.
@@packerbacker69 correction, I have a Corolla se not ce.
40 Something is low, really low, I get at least 50 something of a mix of putting my foot down in sports mode and motorway driving at at least 70 mph, with a full (ish) load, full estate with a few people seated,

Along with the fuel, a good or fresh batch of petrol aka gasoline makes a observable different,
The batch is out of your hands, the fresh batch is, when you see a tanker filling up your station, get the vehicle filled, it's more um, potent,
Another important thing is E5 or E10, basically it's ethenol, I am paying for petrol not filler !!!! The ethenol flashes off and also is hydroscopic, so exaggerating the need to always have at least a 1/4 tank full to stop picking up water and other crap out the tank,
Hi Scotty from Houston (Spring Branch)!
Very interesting infor here about this Toyota Hybrid!! Thanks Scotty...............
In 2012 I bought a 2010 level 3 prius with 59k miles. The sticker new was $29,500, I paid $14,600. Less than half of new. Used as a taxi until I retired it has 360k miles. At 220k my mechanic put a good used, tested battery in for $1200, he also replaced a strut mount. But I am a stickler about maintenance.

My daughter bought 2022 Corolla LE ...Her first new car she's had a year now...She drives the hell out of it. I believe she's at 20k miles. Or so. She and her husband find it a great little car and it's performance for a budget car is quite accepted at the 22k price with the little options. The geared auto trans CVT has a 1st like no other for getting up and going which in theory should last longer. The little 1.8 isn't bad tried and true. She drives like this guy around 80 plus MPH on the Interstate visiting family. Though I wish she would slow down , it does seem like a nice little sporty car for what's out there today in it's price bracket. I always tell people to buy Toyota or Honda. Can't go wrong but watch out my son had the turbo 1.5t civic 2021 new and traded down for the 18 accord 2.0t and had way more power. More luxurious as well albeit he wound up paying the price of a new civic for am old 18 accord. Looks like new and has it modded as little as possible by ktune and filter cold air intake. He's taking many cars on the road having fun here and there too. Sleeper.

Back in the late 80's my dad was looking for a basic dodge d150 truck. We live 2 hours west of Detroit (originally from the detroit area). We stopped by our local dealer and they wanted like $1500 more than the equivalent truck at a dealership in Dearborn. Our local dealer basically said "well if you want drive to the city go for it." That's nuts what he did. We took the 2 hour drive over to Dearborn and got that truck instead of at our local dealer. At that time, people around here didn't drive more than a half hour away from home and thought that if you traveled east of Ann arbor you're going to get shot (not possibly, definitely). The $20 in gas at the time was worth the $1500 in savings.
So true Scotty got to shop around. They wanted 54,000 for my last car , I live on the coast , found the same car new in the center of the country. Got it for 34.000 saved big bucks … FACT

No spare tire?? Seems very risky and dangerous especially for girls: Every vehicle should come standard with a spare and the basic tools to use it. Smh.
I hope they make a hatchback version
They have one... Question is whether you will get it in your country
We needed to make a trip from Houston, Texas, to New England. Our car was a1999 Dodge Caravan with 167K on the ODO. I purchased a spare wheel (same wheel as on the van. I did not want to be forced into using the silly small tire the factory called a "spare" for a replacement if we had a flat. I left the "new" spare with the van when I sold it to a friend. He was tickled to have a real spare!
I always buy a full size rim & tire for my vehicle. Nice to hear on gas mileage. I normally use truck to have a ladder & room for wood. I will need to get a family car maybe in a year though not my daily driver. I do know they have a 5 year free replacement on the battery.
Best mpg on hybrid car. I booked one 2023 Corolla Hybrid LE today. $27,800 out of the door. I needed a second car and waited patiently of last one year. This is common sense car and fits the math.
Buying a new car as a second car doesn't make sense at all...new cars are made cheaper. You lose a lot of value when you take it off the lot, and even scottyhas said not to buy a hybrid
You've paid 4800$ to much. Didn't you watch the video?
The spare tire thing sucks, but there is space in there to put a full size spare, that's what I did with my 22 hybrid corolla. They sold me the car with fix a flat and an air pump, that's ridiculous!
Are the wheels the same as older Toyota models? If so, buy your spare from a junkyard.
Here in Holland Toyota sold the Auris hybrid from 2010. It's a Corolla with a different name, with the Prius engine, drivetrain and battery. I own one, a very, very reliable car and very economic. More than 210.000 kilometers on the odo, never needed any repair.
What's really cool is the top of the line with leather, NAV and the rest is the same price as the 2022 hybrid that was a base model.
checked several dealers in CO & the out the door price for a 2023 LE nonhybrid is around 27k. Good luck finding a hybrid for 23k.

That price is a base car with ABSOLUTELY no accessories/addons. Plus that does not include the mandatory $1195 delivery processing/handling charge. When he makes it sound like the car costs a flat $23k he is blowing smoke.

Love to see your video Scotty. Especially when u laugh and put that horse picture lol makes me 😆
If you really want to have a spare tire in a vehicle, you can always go to a salvage yard and find one there for cheap.
I got a wheel off ebay when I needed one. Steel used was $35.
I prefer HYBRIDS over FULLY ELECTRIC; uses vey little fuel, and NEVER need to "PLUG-IN TO RECHARGE", therefore no risk of running dry and being stuck!
This is great because my biggest gripe with the prius was how low to the ground it was. Notorious for scraping the bottom, I'm sure this fixed that issue.

Thank you for helping me make a smart decision, Scotty!
I am going to get this same car hopefully paying 25k or less OTD since the Cerritos auto square does not charge a “market adjustment” but regardless would you say it’s a good buy? Wives 2007 Camry hybrid just got the death knock two days ago. One of the valves split at almost 200,000 miles.
Looking at '23 Camry hybrid SXEs at the moment. 49 mi a gallon for a sedan big enough for me? Yes please! Currently driving loner 23 Prius prime and while it's awesome, it's too small for us.
Both my wife and I really like the sportier look and the heated seats so I'll spend a little more on the SXE trim.
I'm still driving my 2008 Highlander limited with 84,000 mi! Love it almost as much as the day I got it still.
im glad Scotty likes the car.
i got a great deal on a 4year old Corolla E210 Sedan Hybrid, but the EU spec with Sol Trim.
Instead of paying 32.000€ it was 21.000€, with only 60.000km.
And it still has 6 years waranty on everything.
But i did get 18inch Alloys though, and i have a spare tyre in the trunk for some reason.
Also no charging ports in the back, myn has AirCons instead. Also the EU spec looks like a lexus compared to the US spec, so bizare.
