Very happy they brought the old commentators back for this.
Good that Walters is making a comeback - heard he had some rough times after that Loma fight
idk now he's been out of the game too long.
Really making a comeback?
It's sad to see great fighters like Nonito and Roy Jones jr, Pac Man and so on not hanging up their gloves in time, when too far over the top. That said, they love the sport and the success of their prime, so of course the dream of more conquest is strong. It's just so sad to watch icons loose because pushing their age.
Okay, clock in then💪🏾 great fight!
Glad they used the HBO commentary
No it's not! They were biased to HBO fighters like Pacquiao,Kovalev,Alverez or any white or light skin fighter which is why all their fighter ended up being huge disappoints and dominated by black fighters when it came time to step up. There's a reason HBO ended them!
@@canuhandlethetruth6166 Only black fighter that were good during that time was floyd
@@israelestrada3086 Not true there was Andre Ward! Ward beat Kovalev twice knocked him out the 2nd time! The fight commentary was so racially biased in that fight it was disgusting! Alverez DUCKED Ward his whole career from 154lbs to light heavyweight for years! Ward won Super 6 and was UNDEFEATED and was calling out Alverez for years and Alverez blatantly DUCKED Ward!!
@@israelestrada3086 Lennox Lewis was also champion and dominating the heavyweight division. Even you have a built-in biased thanks to HBO's biased commentary. The only legitimate white boxer of that time was Dimtri Pirog! If Dimitri was never injured there'd be no Canelo Alverez or Benavidez!
@@canuhandlethetruth6166 so Ward was calling out a 154 pounder when he was a 168 pounder that seems unfair also ward overrated af fought eurobums all his career only slick black fighter he fought was dawson but he made dawson come down to his weight basically weight drained him why aint ward fight betwrbiev or bivol instead
Roy Jones is very knowledgeable as a commentator..
Beautifull boxing and sportsmanship
this has been a really good fight.
Walters was limited, but he was probably one of the physically strongest featherweights of all time and you see what happened to Donaire. He ended up back down at 118.
Beautiful jab by Walters, reminded me of Quartey and that uppercut reminded me of Vernon Forrest. Great fight.
After watching this fight I have even more respect for Lomo. He made Walter's quit
Walters has training to hit the head only😂
very interesting video, it's breathtaking
donaire is probably my favourite fighter i nearly cried when walters beat him 😂
Gay
imagine having Donaire as someone’s favorite fighter 😂
@@KuyaPixels23 whos your favourite boxer ?
@@KuyaPixels23 Why tho? Donaire is a 4 wight division champ, HoF, second greatest boxer from philipines.
@@KuyaPixels23 you’d be surprised how much fans Nonito Donaire have around the world.. he has fans from Japan, the blk community and Latino community etc
I remember seeing this fight with my old man I was probably 8 and knew a little bit of boxing at that point. I really thought donaire was gonna take it even with that Guillermo lost. My dad who’s a boxing freak even till this day told me Walter’s was dangerous back then. Still gives me chills seeing this fight, time also really fly’s
It's crazy that Walters has come out of retirement at 38. His first fight back was February 2023 at 140 then his 2nd fight back in November, he weighed in at 148...winning both fights. I'm curious how far he makes it
Yeah but nothign really serious, he will not do big fights anymore.
@@NerdChannelBrasil How you know cynical whitey?
@@Lyricistnz
Why triggered, silly monkey?
@@NerdChannelBrasil if he keeps winning he will
He was huge for his weight
Walters the Axeman was only second to Loma back then
Lomachenko beat Walter's to retirement 😱
Is Donaire famous for getting beaten up? because I've only seen two fights with him and he's always getting rocked lmao
Both actually. Some say he's a weight bully in Flyweight - Bantamweight during his prime because he was too big. But even then, he's a legit 4 weight division champion with 2 weight unified (118 & 122).Has KO of the years and was 3 on the P4P list once
Donaire is legit but they tried rushing him up in weight too quickly. He needed to get back at 122 and instead jumped to 126
I always enjoy this fight. Nonito was smaller than Walters, and Walters had the style that is worse for him. a pressure fighter. He has disadvantages in size and in style. Anyway, he gave everything, and I think he just had enough and go blow for blow at the end not caring if he got KO. Nonito is really a great fighter, I'm grateful for have witness his career, since the first fight with Vic Darchinyan (with that upset and all time great KO), to his last great fight vs a prime Naoya Inoue.
Nonito Donaire, legend of Boxing, The Greatest Sport Ever. God bless Boxing.
Nicholas Walters has heart. But he was mentally break vs Lomachenko. Is really mind blowing how a fighter can be finish with just one fight. It's not necessary a big beatdown or an important injury, just make a fighter doubt of himself: Then is over. The spirit is truly the essential thing in a fighter.
13:27 Top analysis from the lengendary Roy Jones Jr 16:45
Just not the style of Nonito, who was counter-puncher and was at his pace throwing punches when he saw an opening. And Nonito was been cautious for the bigger Walters.
17:17 HOLY FIRE FROM THE PHILIPPINES!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥❤❤❤❤
Walters was really lucky the bell saved him in rd 2 or 3. Donaire would have finished him.
he's a good matchup with inoue too bad he quits at early age
I can't believe it! I said, "Donaire is ready for an uppercut?" And 5 seconds later, Walters drops him with an uppercut! How did I predict that?
He's shown the heart of a champion. The skills of a champion, the intelligence of a champion but he has the body of a 40 year old workhorse. Nothing left to prove, RETIRE before you get hurt by someone 20 years younger looking to make a name for himself.
They almost never get up when falling face first.😊
Rematch PLEASE
Ahhhh, I'm trying to figure out what this is. This is an old fight.
Commentator: 'Lennox Lewis was a native of Jamaica'
Me: 😂😂😂😂😂 He was born in London and lived in England and Canada but never in Jamaica, but yeah he's a native Jamaican. 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏻♂
Right to the balls😂
Donaires foot work is not good in this fight.
Need re- match.
Donaire can't carry his reflexes, and speed to featherweights. At this points, he is starting to get slow.
Save by the referee.
Donaire had no business fighting at 126.
Agreed! Should have went back down after he got the belt
Donaire was a legit world champion at 126lbs. this man is a 4 division world champion
Both fighters were great fighters. 😊😊
Donaire shouldn’t of been up at 126, he should’ve gotten his spark back ar 122
Walters wanted more money in the Lomo fight, so he refused the fight at first, was idle for a year. Took the fight a year later, wasnt in the best of shspe and quit after 7 rounds.
His smile permanently disappeared after Loma handed him his first loss lol
Keep crying
for me donaire nice close for this fight
What happened to Walters?
The Lomachenko lost
Sánchez y Azumah, habrían practicado tiro al blanco con estos dos !!
What a pinoykio?
Yon ang problema ni nonito tatayo sa harapan dimanontok pag di unahan , panga lawa pulos dipinsa parang walang balak manalo ,
Tekl Alewas
Bad match for doniere Walters is too big 😑😑😑
Prde ka sa Alewad
This was like Margarito vs Cotto 1.
I swear, if Inoue will fight a strong and big fighter wwho is similar to Walter in Featherweight, then he would get KOed the same way like Donaire
If Inoue is fighting this prime of Donaire, then he is no longer a monster long time ago
