    How many bags of ballast and cement did you need for the 20 holes?

    Great channel with great information. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Is the ballast you are using 35kg bags or 25kg bags. I think you said you were doing a 3:1 mix but if it is 35kg ballast and 25kg cement it's more like 4:1. As an aside I would have though 4:1 would be fine for this, but maybe you think it should be a stronger mix with more cement if 3:1? Also, I am proposing to put my rods at 1.1m centres along the outside wall, giving 6 in total along a 7m length. Does that sound ok? Thanks again

      Hello fella!! Cheers for the lovely comment! Sorry for late reply!! Yeah I make sure all the bags are the same size so there is a consistent mix happening at 3:1 :D

    Hi Steve. Just a thought. For levelling up the rods, if you fix a nut to the bottom of a bullseye level and screw it onto the top of a rod after your filled up the hole with cement, would that be a quicker way to get the rods dead straight. You could have 2 or 3 on the go at once. The idea just came to me watching this vid.

    Hi Steve, just found your channel as I'm looking to build my own garden room. Out of interest how many holes to you think you get fill from one mixer load?

    • @TheHomeRenovationExperts
      @TheHomeRenovationExperts  2 роки тому

      Hello Collin! Around three holes give or take depending on heavy handed you get with the shovel digging the holes lol :)

    @The Home Renovation Experts Great videos and content Steve. You've given me belief that I can do this. Can you confirm how many holes you would fill using 3:1 mix? I don't want to order too much, or not enough as I'd want it delivered. I'm planning a mix of shed 3m x 3m, plus open sided entertainment area in an L shape 10m x 3m. I'm estimating on 50 holes.

    • @TheHomeRenovationExperts
      @TheHomeRenovationExperts  2 роки тому +1

      Hello Jon!! Cheers for the lovely comment!! The basic general rule is I 'usually' get 2.5 holes with one 3:1 mix as long as your holes are around 200mm wide and 500-600 deep :D

    Great videos, I've subbed and will follow this build as I'm hoping to do my own this autumn. Can I ask what mixer you have going there? I'm a bit too tight to go for a bell.

    Hey bud as always great Video. Do you ever worry about making the underpart of the floor rodent proof? I worry about rats getting in under the floor if it’s not a concrete block ? I’m also interested to put a Jacuzzi on one side of my room.. would the rod system take the weight? Thx

      Hello fella!! Yeah rats are the big one, some of my clients ask for rodent mesh which I just tack to the front ob the frame base to help. But a good trap placed discretely usually helps out :)
