The Legend of Ron Delorme

One of the best aboriginal hockey players of the 1970s and 1980s, his years in the WHL, WHA and NHL, including a Stanley Cup final run with the Canucks in 1982, eventually made him a household name, a hero to generations of First Nation hockey fans, and an honoured inductee into the Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame

I loved hockey in the 80's probably because of all the good character players back in the day such as Chief.

He was always one tough customer! Had a hat trick against St; Louis toward the end of the 1978-79 season.

He was one of my favorite players from that time. One tough guy. When I'm talking hockey with people my age and I mention Ron Delorme, they say "Who?" He's been forgotten because the teams he played for weren't very good. His background very similar to Bryan Trottier, also Cree Metis from Sakskatchewan and about the same age. You mention Delorme on the Lethbridge Broncos, so I guess he & Trottier were teammates at that time, and they got to play against each other in the 1982 Cup Finals.
