I grew up on the West Side of Cincinnati, Price Hill, and we would listen to games on WLW. Al Michaels had given way to Marty Brennaman; and one day in 1974, an off year for the Reds, Darrel stepped up to the plate against the Cardinals, he blasted a grand slam. Took place at Riverfront. My understanding is that Darrel somehow had that call played every time you'd ring his doorbell. We called him Dependable Darrel because no matter what he was ever asked to do, he was up to the task.

My family are French Metis from the Chaleur Bay area. Fishermen that worked for Charles Robin. We later settled in Jacquet River, New Brunswick. I myself have Acadian ancestry but no Acadian Metis that I know of at this point but we DID marry into many Acadian Metis families including the Vautour's. Strength to them. ❤

As you probably know, Jacquet River is one of three 'key' home communities for the Lapointes, besides Nash Creek and Gravel Hill, as the original Lapointes landed in our region by boat in 1801 and many eventually married FN women from the Benjamin River, New Mills, Heron Island and ERBFN regions - which was traditional territory...My great-grandfather was at least 1/4 aboriginal and he had more than 20 kids with three wives and his descendants are well past the 500 mark in Restigouche County and beyond...His second wife was an aboriginal from Nova Scotia with Black ancestry...Lorne is heavy with the Carriers, Mallaley, and Lavigne (Levine) lineage, which includes connections to Maria and some Jewish ancestry just like the Blais in the Lapointe/DeGrechie trees...Numerous Status Indians from up home have Acadian Metis family members, including Chief Richardson from Pabineau...

We are no doubt cousins somewhere along the line. 😂 I'm working on a project right now documenting all the families I am descended from and who they connect to. Pretty sure we're all cousins somehow! 😅

Im from Caraquet NB and its one of the first metis establishment since 1756, to survive deportation from the raid of MacKenzie, Acadian with native wife was safe since they mixed and collaborated with the MikMaq. Reading the history of Gamaliel Smethurst on the same time of the raids, youll find out that the Mikmaq was on the "Last Land" and were trap by the anglish in the north of NB since british settler came to NS and south of NB.

But the 1801 entry of my Audet Dit Lapointe family in Nash Creek has added 5,000 AMs to my side of the North Shore, as they married into the Benjamin River/New Mills/Heron Island ERBFN and in some cases had between 10 and 20 mixed breed kids...My great-grandfather alone has 500+ direct ancestors with Mik'maq lineage

It's very hurtful when people like Darryl Leroux does all the mental gymnastics possible to call us a white supremacists rooted culture when all historical evidence about the Acadian period shows it's not the case.
