    I've seen these made where you can invert them, so as they dry they develop a point at the top of the pop from the dripping chocolate. Any idea where I can get my hands on the form they used to hold the pops upside down?

    Hoping for the best! I'm getting ready next week (for the first time) in making cake pops for my 3 year old grandson's birthday. These are really a big item at birthdays here in El Paso, Texas and can be a bit costly if you order them. I want to make white & blue swirl pops & maybe try a couple of blue shimmer/gems pops in the bunch. But of course, we'll still be ordering a cake so if they don't turn out I'll be safe! Wish me luck...

    • @ItsAPieceOfCake
      @ItsAPieceOfCake  7 років тому +2

      Hi Mark if you watch ALL of my cake pop videos like I'm talking every single one of them then I'm confident you will be fine. What I defiantly recommend is make them atleast 3 days in advance (dont worry once your cake pops are dipped into the chocolate air won't go in which means your cake pops won't be dry...) when you make them in advance you will have less pressure on yourself and will have time if things go wrong...keep me updated on how you go...best of luck!

    • @mkapuscik01
      @mkapuscik01 7 років тому

      I've been watching your videos & they are great! I was actually wondering about how long in advance I should make them but mine will be a bit different as I'll be using one of those cake pop maker machines instead of rolling the mixture into balls. They will be more of cupcake consistency so I think maybe 2-days ahead of time & keep them sealed out of the air? Have you ever used one of those cake pop maker appliances? I’ll let you know how they turn out. Thanks, Mark

    • @ItsAPieceOfCake
      @ItsAPieceOfCake  7 років тому +1

      In that case yes then 2 days should be fine and yes airtight contanier maybe also drizzle them with a little simple syrup...No Mark can you believe I have never used one! I used to have a small business from home and would make cakes,cupcakes,macarons,cake pops (if you click on the instagram link on my cover it will take you to my page and you can see my work...) but I found rolling cake pop balls from a cake was just sooooo simple and everyone LOVED them so I never thought of doing it any other way...but please let me know how it goes with the cake pop makers...thanks :) :)

  • @nineteenyearslate
    @nineteenyearslate 7 років тому +1

    Absolutely love your videos! I found when I made mine the chocolate just ran off my cake pop even though I tapped it off so my cake underneath started to show! Do you have any tips to prevent this?!

    • @ItsAPieceOfCake
      @ItsAPieceOfCake  7 років тому +2

      thank you so much! so thrilled your enjoying them :)
      theres only one way to fix that... So first dip your cake pops in plain white chocolate let them set once chocolate has fully firmed then dip them again. Professionals (many that I personally know) always double dip them because it makes the cake pops look very round...I personally don't...but in your case because you can see your cake then this would be the only way...OR you can try a different brand of chocolate. All chocolates melt at different thickness (more vegetable oil then melts very runny/more chocolate then bit thicker...). If you are from Australia then get nestle melts compound chocolate...that melts absolutely perfect. Its runny enough to comfortably dip the cake pops but thick enough to hide a dark chocolate cake...hope this helps :) :) :)

      ask at your cake decorating shop for OIL BASED FOOD COLOUR POWDER. yes it will work with any white chocolate. that is specially made for colouring chocolate. You can also get oil based food colour in gel but I hate it. I find with the gel you will have to use either vegetable oil or melted vegetable shortening to thin in out and then the chocolate tastes to oily...so powder in the magic in colouring chocolate :)

      When I make mine i make them atleast a couple days before and i leave them in a cupcake box. i do not put them back in the fridge. hey Angie, you've been a roll today lol I've just answered all this in your other question... and p.s dont ever mix 2 different brands of chocolate thats asking for a disaster LOL (they melt differently...), just keep practising (following the steps I've answered in your other question...) and just keep practising with one brand till you get the hang of melting then you can experiment with other brands. And for me nothing is easier than nestle melts. for a compound chocolate it tastes great and a breeeeezzzzeee to work with. you will understand what I'm saying once you've done the steps I've told you :)
