Being a master of illusions and tricking enemies into going right where you want them is an aspect of magic power fantasy that's been long underserved in my opinion, so I'm excited to try this out.
I have around 18 hours in Dragon's Dogma 2 now, and it is amazing. Definitely my new Skyrim. (Yes, it is that much fun.) I received it through the mail the day before yesterday, and in all that time, it feels I have only opened up some of the first map. Also, out of all the 240 Seeker Tokens in the game to find, I have only found 1... I search everywhere. This game has something around every corner to experience. The 30 fps on the PS5 actually works just fine. I feel like I got a Willy Wonka Golden Ticket.
The trickster doesn´t really fit my personal playstyle, but I just can´t ignore how cool it is to see Developers come up with unique Vocations that I´ve never really seen in any other games. Anyway great series thank you for the videos

Trickster can’t induce damage on enemies directly. But imagine including trickster vocation into your warfarer arsenal; Crowd-control skills, then use sorcerer to nuke enemies or cut them down one-by-one with thief or MS. Immaculate combo.
@@user-vj2md3kf2t No. Warfarer damage will be relatively weaker,yes, but terminology for singular, high damage attacks are called nukes. Nuking is still possible, but overall damage can be reduced. In higher levels being confronted by goblins or wolves, the difference in stats can be neglible. Nuking is still possible. Burst DPS is also doable.
@@tristanward9937Not necessarily. Warfarer still lets you use 4 weapon skills for each weapon type you use. It is only said that on a dualsense controller that pressing L1+R1 will let you swap weapons. Meaning, you can also keep and execute vocation actions by pressing R1 but not together with L1.
I wonder how trickster climb attacks work. Could i just climb on a griffen and when it flies could i control its movement with fake walls or one shot with a illusion causing it to fall? Definitely not my main but it would be a fun vocation to play with.
Can’t wait to main this class…. The fact you can send your smoke into a mob and all the mobs will attack it is going to be my form of single target damage. I’m just curious if I can infuse my smoke on a boss monster and let mobs attack too. 😈
This looks like a really interesting vocation but the biggest issue I'm seeing is that it has zero direct damage (not even weapon attacks). It's definitely not a solo vocation but it'd be nice to have at least one or two direct attacks, particularly against solo enemies or bosses.
I want to like this class, I really do, but it feels like it’s more of a multiplayer class. I get that the pawns are better now, but I don’t know if it’ll make a difference enough for me to pick this class up.

I still think I'll try it just for the ability to provoke enemy infighting though. I like that all the names of skills are very "smelly". Aroma, snuff, vapor, incense ...
I disagree. Skills for trickster encourages ingenuity. AI wouldn’t be able to maximize its potential and might not produce effective skill combos as much as a player would. And yes, pawns aren’t capable of using hybrid vocations but will be given “specializations” instead.
@@donisumagaysay1956 But if we're thinking back to DD1, how often were your pawns better fighters than you? Hardly ever, right? So aside from being able to make enemies jump off cliffs, you'll be relying on the pawns to be your main damage-dealers with Trickster. I think it'll be fun and creative but also an uphill struggle.
@@Wannabe_Baby exactly! You are a better fighter/player than your pawn, and no other support can be better than a good player. Relying on your pawn or enemy ai for dps is exactly the point of the trickster vocation. It offers a different playthrough, nothing to worry about if its style doesn’t suit you. Otherwise, trickster for pawns will demand a better AI especially in placing and timing its weapon skills and utilization of the ethereal form.
I think if i ever do trickster , itll be like a new playthrough , id like to get into the orher shiny looking vocations hahaha 👋, but dont get me wrong , it looks sick asf to be a trickster

Does the vocations seem more in depth than the first game to compensate for the lack of some advanced vocations?

I just saw someone on Twitch upload almost 6 hours of leaked gameplay, fps are better then I thought for the PS5 and the combat looks great.

You won't be nuking anything down with the warfarer spells if what the devs say about its stats are true

Honestly I'm really interested on playing this one and Magick Archer. It just feels so different from what we usually see on rpgs

It does damage , just not a lot.
Its a buffing and crowd control class. Capable of downing enemies easily with that dragon illusion

I think so, and hope so... I won't like playing straight Trickster, but I have a couple of multiclassing ideas for them skills! :)

Trickster is very uncommon, I didnt see this kind of character in any modern RPG's. It's a pity that my pawn cannot use this vocation.
Trickster requires you to be smart, but it should have been a pawn vocation, would be perfect for a pawn
