It's almost cute seeing how hard Capcom tries to push Athena away from the spotlight. But, I know, I know, this is suppose to be a reunion of the old gang. I still miss Gumshoe though.
To answer your question at the start, Phoenix was pretty close to figuring out what was going on. By admitting it before he got any closer and saying that he did it to protect Ellen, not only does he make it seem like Ellen's the culprit (it makes it so that all the time-travel questions are answered and she still could be the culprit) but he also makes it so that hardly any of the attendees at the wedding reception would be found guilty of aiding and abetting a criminal (he said that almost no one knew about it) which would lessen the impact of a scandal. Also, confessing your crimes while often get you more leniency than having them revealed against your own wishes.
I don't like how they won't let Athena do the one thing she good at and that her therapy. Ellen clearly distraught and Pierce plus Sorin are clear hiding something so Athena could have been helpful or I would like to believe that. Also the fact Athena going though these act and her life was even threatened, but they all think it funny just suck.
Anthony Welford That’s the problem with creating a case that’s supposed to be a throwback case: You can’t involve newer mechanics since they’re trying to focus on the old.
What's the point of athena's existence really? They introduced her in the last game and later on it seems that they don't know what to do with her...I personally don't like Athena but I feel bad for the people who actually do. Since Apollo is out of the way maybe she'll be able to shine in the next games who knows ?
Vertex Athena have been helpful to the group. In Jinxie case if it wasn't for her therapy session on Damian Tenma and getting the info that he was the Ninetail Wrestlers they wouldn't had won the case. Basically her only purpose is being the sidekick and her therapy session which is why she need her own game. Sorry if this doesn't answer your question.
Anthony Welford spirit of justice is Apollo's case. That's why even with Phoenix we really don't see the psych locks as well. And let's be real, this is a dlc case about the original cast as a focus point. We didn't need her. I do agree that they really are disrespectful with how they ignore her.
I'm pretty sure a 50 first dates thing is going on with Sorin. By taking Athena the Psychological expert out of the story, she can't immediately point out Sorin has short term memory loss, what with him acting aloof (forgetful), documenting everything in his life after he was injured in a car crash (what damaged his memory), being frantic and lost without the journal (haven't played this case, this is a guess on my part)
Nico, um...did you miss the part in the last trial where Phoenix realizes it's not time travel and starts saying the reception was held twice? They wouldn't have been stuck on time travel for much longer, they would have forced Pierce or Sorin to testify about it and investigate more, so he got a head of the situation and explained why he staged a second reception.
Xavier Saavedra Nah maybe both Except both Kazuichi and Miu will battle each other to death..... speaking of Kazuichi Kazuichi:All woman are queens Togami(not the fat one):If she breathes, SHE'S A THOOOOOOOT!!!!!
Reno Kyrielium Sure maybe if she invents an automatic manifold pressure stabilizer for a v-16 air cooled inline engine with 3 stage superchargers then yeah sure. But that seems more up sodas route.

Um, does Safety Blanket refer to the Notebook here? Awww, poor Sorin and Ellen though. I noticed a few things in the investigation that got me thinking, but not sure how they connect yet though. But dang, how did Sorin have the energy to go threw a 2nd reception since he was injured? Yeah really the only thing I love about this case is the romance factor, everything else has been okay at best. I'll be honest though, I do like this DLC cause better then the last DLC case so far. DLC with the Whale show though did have a great conclusion. Btw, does anyone else getting a Jules Verne and Steampunk vibe from this case? Lol. I love the character designs of Sorin, Ellen, and Pierce, I think they're my fav in the game so far.

Truly, he is the best witness of this case.
That robot-thing on Pierce's shoulder looks like a ladybug to meXD Cases like these really need to have more people/suspects in it, otherwise with so little people it seems to be a little easy to tell who the culprit is as there isn't much to choose from.
I too have a safety blanked, its my blanky from when i was 5 years old. It protects me from demon lords and such, its more powerful than you think trust me.
Im starting to wonder if its possible that the family actually thinks it is Sorin that commited the murder. That would explain why they went so above and beyond to try to conceal everything.
25:47 that airplane looks like the French type H mono plane aircraft used before the first world war. While Maya probably has the ideal weight for that aircraft however the 60 mile/ 120 km it will be useful as a powerglide or we’re going to be hearing Jericho trumpets for the final plunge
It would be funny if the Time Travel was in the end real and the past Phoenix and future Phoenix met and game went all glitchy because the time continuum goes messed up and the only way to save the world is to change the past by clearing Ellen from all suspicion.
It really is nice to have a second investigation day for the same case. Not a second case connected to the previous case in the same chapter. Every other case in this game has had one investigation day for each case, and it’s something I’d expect in Danganronpa, but it doesn’t fit with Phoenix Wright.
God the Zeplin's Hold is *SO* Steam Punk, I love it. As for the plane Maya could Channel Amelia Earhart to fly it. And haven't liked heights ever since I fell off a plastic jungle gym when I was 3. Wasn't more then 3 feet and I broke my arm, Curse that Hard packed Miami Dirt.
So is this massive airship filled helium? Cause if this is filled with any other gas the ship would have blown up with all the shit that’s happened. Pressurized cabin or not
Is it weird that only the DLC case has a two-day trial in it? Sure, two of the other cases have two days to them, but with them the second day was always a separate, if related, trial. Not saying that's bad, just a bit odd.
Ellen is right about the TIme Travel thing since due to the crossover game with Layton series which had actually Time Traveling in it, there is Time Traveler that does exist.
I can just see Sorin now wielding a keyblade and throwing paper airplanes at Donald that each say, "Heal me, bitch!"
STOPZA

I still miss Gumshoe though.
I'm starting to worry that Gumshoe might be dead
"Why can't you bring me back, pal?"
Sorry, Gumshoe, but the decrease in moe from Athena's absence must be compensated for by Ema.
If everyone from the old cast can be back, where the heck is Gumshoe?? :(
He deserves to make a comeback even more than Larry
Something telks me that Trucy's job is the only way Nick is getting money...

The killer is Larry Butz.
Nico: *tears of joy* YEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!
Knight Of ANGUISH
And then he wake up.
Nico: NO... NOOOOO! THIS HAS TO BE A DREAM...!
I bet that Nico wishes that he could go back in time to the very first case and let Larry be found guilty.
I feel like Nico's brain is erasing details of this case from his memory because of how "meh" he finds it.
He might have checked out as soon as he saw Larry.
YTWeewer I don't blame him though. Larry is someone that I also find insanely annoying as well. :( but that's me.
No yeah, Larry is terrible haha.
Nico's giant chunk of salt over Larry is what's keeping me alive right now.

Nyoka Shortt lol, it’s especially rough with names
I actually prefer Pierce, although Sorin is still pretty cool

You too?
WinterSnow 99 nah, Pierce isn't as good looking as him
Hi Athena.

... Why are you doing this to Athena Capcom...
DetectiveSpiritOfBobbyFulbrightGamer it honestly ridiculous how much effort they went to push her off the screen and make her seem useless
DetectiveSpiritOfBobbyFulbrightGamer IN ATHENA WE TOSS AWAY!!
Fun fact: When the writer was writing the script for the case, he tried to write script for the case, marriage(結婚) kept coming up as bloodstain(血痕).
a blood bath case would be cool ...
How did the writer made a mistake like that because both pairs of kanji letters have wildly different strokes.
The pronunciation. 結婚 and 血痕 are both pronounced 'kekkon'. An OS' language system gives multiple options when spelling out Japanese terms and phrases.
BLOOD BATH FEVER

Likely not admissible in this court.

Regarding the whole pan and ladle thing, it's actually a form of protest known as "Cacerolazo" (roughly translated to "pan-strike") that originated in Latin America, which consists of doing just that. The thing about this method of protesting is that you can show your support even if you're not marching on the streets or are restricted in some way (curfew, home arrest, etc.) I'm not sure if that's what the developers were trying to portray, but it is a thing.

Another day, another moment for Larry to ruin AGAIN!
The Butler did it! GET IT????
It would be funny if the Time Travel was in the end real and the past Phoenix and future Phoenix met and game went all glitchy because the time continuum goes messed up and the only way to save the world is to change the past by clearing Ellen from all suspicion.
ITS ALWAYS THE BUTLER
Just finished the last episode and this was posted. Wonderful timing!
I know! That mystery figure is…
…THE PHANTOM!
I do get a tingly feeling from a year of heights but I never thought of it coming from my but.
It really is nice to have a second investigation day for the same case. Not a second case connected to the previous case in the same chapter. Every other case in this game has had one investigation day for each case, and it’s something I’d expect in Danganronpa, but it doesn’t fit with Phoenix Wright.
I also am afraid of heights so i get yah
I actually went to the Great Arch in Saint Louis a few weeks ago. I wont deny the fears i had when i was up there..........
I'm getting the strong impression that Phoenix is going to end up being the time traveler Sorin knows to get the last piece of needed evidence.
After finishing the case myself, things make so much more sense.
but why would sorin not notice the blood immediately?
17:29 Yeah they do, they are all working as the writers for The Simpsons
Idk why but when i first played this case, i thought everyone was secretly gay
I love how Ellen's wedding out looks similar to an apron and she has rolled towels on her head
Pressurized cabin or not
I like how fairly linear the psyche-locks segment has become in this game
I GOT IT
Just shut up and heal my ass already!!! *heals goofy*
33:40 more like a lot in anime mystery series
7:03 Gloomsbury for Dragon Ball Fighterz
Uh, Nico? Where'd all your Let's Plays go?
Herr Stupid xD nice one. AND IT GETS BETTER !!! at least that's what I believe.
Is it weird that only the DLC case has a two-day trial in it? Sure, two of the other cases have two days to them, but with them the second day was always a separate, if related, trial. Not saying that's bad, just a bit odd.
45:46 Look at Maya, channelling her inner komaeda, next she'll start to have a craving for bagels
So Ema is 17 now cause this takes place 10 years into the future
Sorin next Council of Voices member titled Mr. Serious 😂
Ellen is right about the TIme Travel thing since due to the crossover game with Layton series which had actually Time Traveling in it, there is Time Traveler that does exist.
Uuuuh, no it didn't? And even if it did, that game isn't canon
Flex tape for the win!
That's a lotta damage!
TO SHOW JUST HOW POWERFUL FLEX TAPE IS, I SAWED ANOTHER BOAT IN HALF!
aneonfoxtribute It even works underwater!!
I SAWED A BLIMP IN HALF!
Note to self: Always take note of people with vague physical traits and clothing, and obscured faces.
The upcoming trial has two parts that are around 1 to 1 and a half hours each.
The engine is a perpetual gear system, neat...too bad gears need to be replaced every so often
Still think werid Butler revealed Sorin was the Mastermind of the cover up. I mean why he would risk of being arrested.
I love grapes
When i read this an image of Mineta from BNHA came to mind and I honestly don't know how I feel about that
Sounds like a murder mystery novel cliché if Nico is correct. Its always the butler that did it.
