Bird photography is sensitive when the photography is near nesting sites. We have been stalking horned grebe´s and photographing them and other birds, also trying to film their behavior. This is a behind-the-scenes video of our few short visits to see how the birds managed to handle the changing weather conditions in early summer. We also mention few tips regarding ethical bird photography.

As wildlife photographers, you're living in paradise. Very inspiring environment. Also, I think you did not disturb the Grebes. They will notice you in the beginning, but when you behave very calm they get used to it very fast. As far as I'm concerned, this was completely justified.
That d850 shutter sound - wow 😯 love it. Nikon colour science is outstanding…
Couldn't agree more!
My new favorite UA-cam channel. Awesome videos.
1:15 double deck bird. Great video. young bird this late in the season.
i am going to visit iceland for 5-7 days(next 6 months.) i am trying to figure out where to go for daytrips.
excellent video as always thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Brilliant video, it's good you consider the birds in your photography, you both produce beautiful images.
Beautiful footage and images.
Glad you enjoyed it
Wonderful video...
It was great to have the opportunity to capture Grebe’s moments mating, laying nests, and laying eggs in the wild. Great shared. Happy birding. Greeting from Singapore.
This was a nice morning and we hope it reflects in the video. Greetings from Iceland!
Looking forward to your videos all the time, you know they will be good like David Attenborough documentaries!
To have a beautiful quiet place to go to like that must be heaven.
Thank you
Brilliant Video, Really Lovely Footage, and Beautiful Photographs. Many thanks for sharing. 🇬🇧
Thank you too!
Great video! Grebe chicks on the parents back always makes me smile. You sure can tell when someone is using the D850! Unmistakable sound of excellence..... Greg
Thank you Greg. So true! The sound of the D850 is almost as great as the sound in our D4s.
this is lovely. such beautiful habitat and adorable little grebes. thank you for sharing this.

Thank you! Greetings from Iceland!
Nice video. Which software is using for reduce noise in images?
We use Lightroom for noise - and other Adobe products.
What amazing atmosphere hope you really enjoyed
I saw a really great sharp shots
How do you find the TC 1.7, and which version it is !
Keep shooting a great content 👌
Thank you Ali. We are using the old version of the TC 1.7E. It works well, but the new one is probably better - at least updates should be ;-)
Another great video. Couple of questions . Can you use the floating blind for these & can the mink be hunted legally?
We have used the floating blind for these, but in the conditions at this location it is not appropriate, the floating hide would be too disturbing. We would never use the floating blind to get close to nests. Only to get closer to feeding birds where the conditions allow it. The mink can and is hunted legally. It is a constant battle.
@@GudmannAndGyda Thanks!
Nice video but what's that clunking noise? You know there are completely silent shutters on modern cameras...
Some of us photographers, like to use old, outdated and nostalgic methods when taking pictures. It gives us goosebumps and makes the pictures more valuable ;-)
