Some people who are depressed can be really frickin good at pretending they don’t have it and for some people it lasts a very long time so who truly knows how long Cobi has been depressed for. I was watching a lot of his videos recently and there are tons of them where he mentions how he’s been stressed and stuff and I think the earliest one was in his sa2 videos from 2015

Then around 2017-2018 he left again because of the raquib situation( we all know the fuck up things he did to cobi and I hope he never shows his ugly face again) and then came back for the sonic forces videos. I remember watching him in 2012-2014 because of his Mario galaxy 2 and Nintendo land videos, literally was the whole reason I got those two games. Both are now big parts of my childhood, especially Mario galaxy 2 which I still have the same copy of to this day.
UPDATE : The channel Cobi made to rant and talk about his personal life (Coban Officale) is now permanently gone off of UA-cam it is unknown if Cobi deleted the channel, privated the channel or if UA-cam decided to take it down.

I actually was a fan of Cobi way before I even heard of Etika. Then I found Etika in one of his live streams about him being hyped up about the Switch coming out, I watched him for a few months and then one of the streams Cobi was in it and it was one of the coolest moments of youtube for me. Every now and then I'll have this kick where I'll just watch Etika's old streams and realize over and over again that he's actually gone. And each time it hits harder than the last. I really hope Cobi is doing okay though, I still miss getting to see the newest Sonic Generations mods.

Cobi is a perfect example of how forced positivity and cheerfulness can mask how messed up a person's life truly is behind the screen. I watched him a lot back during the popularity of Sonic Generations, it's so sad to see him in such a poor state. Mental health issues absolutely suck.
I used to spend an unhealthy amount of time watching Cobys Sonic videos when I was younger. I eventually forgot that he existed and stopped watching his channel. 7 years later I remember this guy, and I was so shocked that he was struggling so much in his life despite seeing how easy going and happy he was in his videos all those years ago. Hope he's doing great now.
I used to watch him when I was 6 (and I’m currently 16 now) and I’m just so sad about all of this. I still feel very bad for him and I just simply can’t bring myself to not like him regardless of what he’s done

I started watching Cobi in 2013 which was the same year my mom passed away. His videos helped me get through the pain and grief and honestly if it wasn’t for him and also other UA-camrs like Etika, I probably would’ve done the same thing he (Etika) did. It’s such a shame that the people who bring the most happiness are the ones that need it the most. I hope Cobi’s doing well and even if he doesn’t come back, I’ll always have his old videos to look at and smile fondly at the memories.
I’ve actually been rewatching one of his let’s plays and after watching this I’ve had a whole different mind set watching them knowing that he’s going through some extremely hard times. I just want the best for him

Coban was such a great man, seeing him in this state just..saddens me. It's truly is a sad situation. Etika was my most favorite streamer, and I used to watch all of Cobi's videos regardless of what it was. Etika's situation had me completely fucked up. I remember seeing my brother watch cobi all the time. I would watch along all the time. I never knew why my brother stopped watching, but now that i know, it feels slightly surreal
I only knew him from his New Super Mario Bros Wii content when I was like six. I didn’t get into sonic until long after I had stopped watching him. Hope he’s okay, he inspired me to become a youtuber the better part of a decade after I watched him.

I discovered Cobi in November 2013, I was 9 y/o. His first video I saw was the finale video of his Super Mario 3D World playthrough. From there I watched him every single day. He ignited my passion for Sonic, it’s now my favorite video game franchise bc of him. When I first found out why he quit UA-cam I immediately searched everywhere for updates & answers. I was & still am so worried for him bc he left such an impact on me. I’m now 17 & about to graduate high school. My only wish from here on out regarding Cobi is that he gets better. Idc if he never uploads again, his health comes first. Even though Cobi isn’t innocent either, I hope everyone who’s hurt him comes to there senses & takes responsibility for hurting him. All we can do now is think positive thoughts & prayers. I know God has something in store for him & he just hasn’t seen it yet. Cobi needs to see the light at the end of the tunnel. He’s almost there, I know it. We love you Cobi.
I clicked this video to see what happened to one of my first and favorite content creators . it's sad to see him on a mental decline and know know if things will get better in the future. I remember Coban as this happy man who played Sonic and Mario with purple rodri, sully, and another person which I forgot. He was the reason I started this channel. I deleted it and made a new one but I hope cobermani gets better and comes back. He was the reason I enjoyed games.
God I miss Cobi and Etika. I often forget how much I watched their content and how happy they made me as a lonely kid. Unfortunate how their mental health deteriorated but I’m incredibly thankful for them.
I feel like this doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface. Cobi stalked women. He stalked several women. Threatened harm onto those women. In some of the older videos on the first vent channel, he threatened to harm several people. Cobi’s friend who you mentioned took back their statement after seeing proof of Kat’s statements. Cobi needs help. But this video leans a little too apologetic towards the actions he himself took to get to this mental state.
He was the reason why I started UA-cam. It’s painful to see him going the route that he’s on. Perhaps, there might be some light at the end of the tunnel.
It really makes me sad to this happen to him. I remember watching his videos when I was in elementary. One of my friends I knew back then watched him too and we would watch him together when I went over to his house and we even quoted him sometimes. I really hope Cobi gets better.

Even if those allegations are true, she had no business posting it all online, especially since he has aspergers, is clearly in a bad mental state, and hasn't made contact with her or had an online presence in like 3 years. Some things are better off staying private.
That's a good point they're both in the wrong however it's more complicated then that what Cobi did mental illness or not can't be excused I know Asperger's personally because I was diagnosed with it when I was 3 years old I also have ADHD and BI Polar but I take medicine everyday to keep em at bay I don't interact with people much but I do fine like Sonic The Hedgehog I live my life by my own way and rules and stay true to my best self regardless of what anyone thinks of me now anyway I can't say Katie handled the situation any better either since he's left her alone now but we don't know for sure if he's really getting help and fully realizes that he was in the wrong a bit more then Katie was don't take what Cobi says at face value and don't take what Katie said at face value either try and keep an open mind and know that Cobi's situation is a lot more complicated then a she said he said one it's one of how bad family matters and a mental illness can tarnish one's relationships and life Cobi is a victim of terrible friends and his mental illness but he's not a victim of Katie at least not 100% as he would like to claim so yeah guys don't believe either side of the story as the evidence isn't 100% clear yet.
Bro I watched this guy when I was like 5 and just decided to look him up again... the fact that I still remember his name and the famous SKADOOOOOOOSH is crazy to me. I mean, I still remember how he made his channel name! It was a password he had made for a computer (was it his moms? I think I remember his mom somewhere in there) Wow... this guy was the *very* first person I watched on UA-cam. The ONLY person I watched on UA-cam for years. I could never subscribe or like or comment because I was on my moms phone, but I still remember watching him play super Mario galaxy while waiting at the bank, and then I'd get a lollipop right after. Why do I remember him so vividly I couldn't tell you, but I'm glad I do and I hope he gets better. He doesn't have to return to UA-cam, but at the very least I hope he asked for help and was given help.
So uhh later poster here but Back in the earlier days of UA-cam when messages could be sent from other channels Cobi actually sent me an invite to his gaming channel back around 2011 when he was uploading online matches of him and his friends in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, I actually had quite a lot of channels I was following at the time and I'd wondered for the longest time why he stopped uploading. He seemed like one of the most chill LPers I'd watched and certainly wasn't expecting to hear.... this.
This thing just makes me sad. Cobi was and still is my hero. I grew up watching him ALL the time. I really miss him, he made laugh all the time. After watching this, I actually cried. He was the first UA-camr I watched. We all miss you cobi. You are in my prayers. You will ALWAYS rock the place.
Cobi was the guy that actually inspired me to like sonic games and to play them in the first place. I always loved seeing his sonic playthroughs always rocking the place and skadoshing everywhere. To see him like this, I can't help but to hope that the trauma and baggage that he has on his shoulders, gets lifted off of him. I never thought a positive dude like him, could go this deep into the dark.

Update for anyone unaware: A channel called the Cobanermites has made an effort to help Cobi in whatever way possible, and be his voice. People have offered him financial support from the channel, as well. While I’m not 100% sure what’s happening, far as I can tell, things are beginning to look up for him a little.
He was the first person to introduce me to Sonic Unleashed, the GOAT Sonic game. But i do hope he can get better, and that he can reconcile for his bad actions.

I don't know UA-cam's policies, but even outside of that, if the people called out by this million sub channel wanted to sue, they'd simply win. So many people saved that information. Coban was such a great man, seeing him in this state just..saddens me. This was the man that actually gave me the confidence to " be like Sonic " and just get out there, rocking the place and being fuckin' ballin. I'll never forget him. No matter the cause.

It's truly is a sad situation. Etika was my most favorite streamer, and I used to watch all of Cobi's videos regardless of what it was. Etika's situation had me completely fucked up. It makes me sad that Cobi's still having a rough time. Life can be so fucked up sometimes. I really hope he's still alright, fuckin hell :/
I watched cobi’s content to help me in dark depressing times and it’s good to see how now he’s finding his own help his content helped shaped me into the person I am stay safe coni and all ways remember to rock the place

I only knew him from his New Super Mario Bros Wii content when I was like six. I didn’t get into sonic until long after I had stopped watching him. Hope he’s okay, he inspired me to become a youtuber the better part of a decade after I watched him.

I discovered Cobi in November 2013, I was 9 y/o. His first video I saw was the finale video of his Super Mario 3D World playthrough. From there I watched him every single day. He ignited my passion for Sonic, it’s now my favorite video game franchise bc of him. When I first found out why he quit UA-cam I immediately searched everywhere for updates & answers. I was & still am so worried for him bc he left such an impact on me. I’m now 17 & about to graduate high school. My only wish from here on out regarding Cobi is that he gets better. Idc if he never uploads again, his health comes first. Even though Cobi isn’t innocent either, I hope everyone who’s hurt him comes to there senses & takes responsibility for hurting him. All we can do now is think positive thoughts & prayers. I know God has something in store for him & he just hasn’t seen it yet. Cobi needs to see the light at the end of the tunnel. He’s almost there, I know it. We love you Cobi.

I clicked this video to see what happened to one of my first and favorite content creators . it's sad to see him on a mental decline and know know if things will get better in the future. I remember Coban as this happy man who played Sonic and Mario with purple rodri, sully, and another person which I forgot. He was the reason I started this channel. I deleted it and made a new one but I hope cobermani gets better and comes back. He was the reason I enjoyed games.
God I miss Cobi and Etika. I often forget how much I watched their content and how happy they made me as a lonely kid. Unfortunate how their mental health deteriorated but I’m incredibly thankful for them.
I feel like this doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface. Cobi stalked women. He stalked several women. Threatened harm onto those women. In some of the older videos on the first vent channel, he threatened to harm several people. Cobi’s friend who you mentioned took back their statement after seeing proof of Kat’s statements.
Cobi needs help. But this video leans a little too apologetic towards the actions he himself took to get to this mental state.
He was the reason why I started UA-cam. It’s painful to see him going the route that he’s on. Perhaps, there might be some light at the end of the tunnel.
It really makes me sad to this happen to him. I remember watching his videos when I was in elementary. One of my friends I knew back then watched him too and we would watch him together when I went over to his house and we even quoted him sometimes. I really hope Cobi gets better.

Even if those allegations are true, she had no business posting it all online, especially since he has aspergers, is clearly in a bad mental state, and hasn't made contact with her or had an online presence in like 3 years. Some things are better off staying private.
That's a good point they're both in the wrong however it's more complicated then that what Cobi did mental illness or not can't be excused I know Asperger's personally because I was diagnosed with it when I was 3 years old I also have ADHD and BI Polar but I take medicine everyday to keep em at bay I don't interact with people much but I do fine like Sonic The Hedgehog I live my life by my own way and rules and stay true to my best self regardless of what anyone thinks of me now anyway I can't say Katie handled the situation any better either since he's left her alone now but we don't know for sure if he's really getting help and fully realizes that he was in the wrong a bit more then Katie was don't take what Cobi says at face value and don't take what Katie said at face value either try and keep an open mind and know that Cobi's situation is a lot more complicated then a she said he said one it's one of how bad family matters and a mental illness can tarnish one's relationships and life Cobi is a victim of terrible friends and his mental illness but he's not a victim of Katie at least not 100% as he would like to claim so yeah guys don't believe either side of the story as the evidence isn't 100% clear yet.

Wow... this guy was the *very* first person I watched on UA-cam. The ONLY person I watched on UA-cam for years. I could never subscribe or like or comment because I was on my moms phone, but I still remember watching him play super Mario galaxy while waiting at the bank, and then I'd get a lollipop right after. Why do I remember him so vividly I couldn't tell you, but I'm glad I do and I hope he gets better. He doesn't have to return to UA-cam, but at the very least I hope he asked for help and was given help.

Back in the earlier days of UA-cam when messages could be sent from other channels Cobi actually sent me an invite to his gaming channel back around 2011 when he was uploading online matches of him and his friends in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, I actually had quite a lot of channels I was following at the time and I'd wondered for the longest time why he stopped uploading. He seemed like one of the most chill LPers I'd watched and certainly wasn't expecting to hear.... this.

Cobi was the guy that actually inspired me to like sonic games and to play them in the first place. I always loved seeing his sonic playthroughs always rocking the place and skadoshing everywhere. To see him like this, I can't help but to hope that the trauma and baggage that he has on his shoulders, gets lifted off of him. I never thought a positive dude like him, could go this deep into the dark.
That laugh is going to haunt my nightmares, that’s just really sad to watch

@@RetroSurge I agree. Seeking help is good way get things going in good way. Like me for example I had be in mental hospital 3 times due to mental problems and it helped me a lot. It helped me get my life back on track and got me on back in a good life path.

The people who attacked him and messed him up should have taken accountability for how they damaged him mentally. Cobi isn’t a murderer. He didn’t kill anybody. Sure. He did some bad stuff. But nothing bad enough to make him deserve that. And yet he had it worse than youtubers I’ve seen do worse. He messed up, but what happened to him was even more messed up.

A channel called the Cobanermites has made an effort to help Cobi in whatever way possible, and be his voice. People have offered him financial support from the channel, as well. While I’m not 100% sure what’s happening, far as I can tell, things are beginning to look up for him a little.

If only because he's now gone on his main account and claimed he was going to end himself while calling out people by their real names. I don't know UA-cam's policies, but even outside of that, if the people called out by this million sub channel wanted to sue, they'd simply win. So many people saved that information. Who knows what they'll do with it if Cobi does what he's threatening?

Lol, I was litteraly just looking up sonic drama and this came up. Anyway, on topic. I was never a fan of cobi, my friends really liked him so I ended up watching some videos. But he was just loud and annoying for my taste.
It's sad and pathetic to see how far he's fallen. I see a lot of fans talking about wanting him back, when he's abused a lot of people in his life. Especially women.
