AMGA Scholarship Video Submission 2021- Jere Burrell

This video is a submission for the American Mountain Guides Association Scholarship application for year 2021. In this video I highlight some of my personal and professional snowboarding experiences. From The North Cascades to Hokkaido Japan I worked as a snowboard guide leading ski trips, avalanche education, and shred mountaineering courses accessed via ski areas, touring, and good old snowboard mountaineering.
With the help of these scholarships I look to take the rock guide exam in October 2020, the ice instructor course in January 2021, the ski guide exam in April 2021, and the Advanced Alpine Guide Course and Aspirant Exam in August 2021.
The AMGA Scholarships provide an integral part of successful guide training, development, and eventual certification. With out the assistance of these programs, the staff, and the donors, the potential benefits of training and certification could be outweighed by the cost of logistics, equipment, and tuition.
