Great concepts here applicable to musicians of every level and at every stage of their careers! In addition to setting aside time specifically dedicated to practice away from the keyboard, the mundane chore times so much a reality in adult existence can also still be productive music study time. If one has to spend hours mowing the lawn, doing the dishes, etc. - being able to implement some of these ideas of mental practice, while engaged in what is otherwise a mostly mechanical activity, is a great way to redeem that time for further necessary preparation in music study and performance.
Thank you for this really interesting, informative and engaging upload, Katelyn! I'm sure it will be of enormous interest to current and future keyboard students (both organ and piano). Best wishes from the UK.
The bit about knowing distances is really true. I don't think I have ever met a pianist or organist that can't just put their hand up and say "this is an octave"
