Thank you, Katelyn, for a magnificent performance of (as a Brit) a completely unknown organ work by Hubert Parry. When I hear mention of Hubert Parry I immediately think of his very well-known (over here) choral work "Jerusalem" Thank you for expanding my knowledge of his other lesser known works! Best wishes.
thank you for answering, admired Katelyn... I love listening to you and seeing you interpreting the orgone... it lifts my spirit... thanks for everything❤
Thank the lord that there is still an organist that understands the correct expressions intended as written by the composer. Katelyn, you play this as well as Lily, and Nadia Boulanger, Marcel Dupre’ ,and his student, Jean Marie Demesouix, pen-pal to my mother Dorothy Elliott, whom was assistant organist to Mary Vogt at the John Wanamaker organ 1935-1949
Thank you so much! Yes, he was himself an organist and wrote quite a lot of music for the organ, both sacred and secular. His chorale preludes are lovely (I've shared a video of 'O God our help' elsewhere in on this channel and will try to record more!), and his Toccata and Fugue "The Wanderer" is fabulous! I hope you'll be able to explore more, if it interests you! 😊 Alas, the original built-in Walcker console, with reportedly very heavy action, was disconnected many decades ago and no longer functions.
love that Methuen organ! one of my favs. Great playing also. Good job.

Outstanding! Bravo!
Very nice Katelyn. As always, it's a joy to see and hear you play. Thanks for putting this up.

Brilliant playing. Wasn't aware that Parry wrote organ music. Are there any other Parry videos? Is the old organ(in background) still playable?
