The game actually slaps, I managed to get 1million battle rating. I can now cut in line at starbucks. If they asked me why I cut in line I just tell them that I have 1 million battle rating in AFK Journey.
That is literally nothing... What really matters is your power number in pvp...

Is not is the most toxic gatcha whale hunt in years. the entry "competive" design is only for whales. the story is a childish shit show. you can archive nothing and get nearly no rewards if you can not spend 10000$+ on the first day.
Being f2p I can confirm, it's interesting even f2p, fun and competitive (between f2p obv).
Other than that the season that will come seems interesting and I'm waiting for it
Your joking or. You can not be competive you can forget any rewards form arena as f2p. All thinks are only dominated by 100 of players who drop 10000$ first day. you will get no rewards anywher because you can not compete with supreme+ characters.

@@Raistlin2kI am able to reach the Top 20 in Arena (S153) and get the first time rewards you get in reaching Top 6-20 there even if Im F2P. Sure you have a point that spenders will dominate there BUT DEPENDS on what server. There are 400+ servers now. In my server I think there are 100-200 maybe spenders/whales so as F2P Im pretty happy with the rewards you get from many different game modes already and Im even beating the spenders in terms of progress and ranks in most game modes.
The point is, the game is very F2P friendly. I am, very much, enjoying the game as F2P. You can even get all the characters (except Florabelle now). I have Supreme+ Vala, Supreme Temesia, Supreme Florabelle, Legendary Thoran, a Smokey, Rowan and almost Mythic+ Odie, AS F2P playing for 21 days now.
I can definitely say, in my experience, that the game is good (for me) even for F2P players cause getting the rewards is still possible.
Many content creators have already suggested that if you really want the rewards you may get in reaching ranks in different gamemodes, then you definitely need to switch to other servers. Cause that will be always the case of a gacha game with PVP aspects. The game already is f2p friendly cause you can create unli accounts to other servers to avoid too much whales in one server.

I have been playing afk arena since it came out basically in 2019, and have been enjoying journey so bad, it's really good and im excited to see where it goes

It's my favourite online game right now. I love the online arena battling but it's really the story, the characters and the cutscenes that made me fall in love with this game
If you're playing it with the proper expectations as an AFK game that you don't really spend much time grinding on it's honestly pretty good. I have other games to play anyways and it's fun to have another one I can just progress through in the background.

That's the pro and cons of the sponsorship. Being sponsored made me aware of the game, but it can also put people off trying it as they think it's a less 'quality' game. For me, I was bored and some of my favourite CCs were trying it out, so I thought I'd give it a go. Can't get enough of it. Being stuck on a level and finding a way to overcome it is immensely rewarding. The only negative I have with it is most of the replays are broken, and the temptation to spend money is strong. I think I've spent like £12 or something so not a big deal, but just putting it out there if you have an issue with self-control.
It's genuinely such a good game. I just downloaded it because I was curious and bored, and now I've played it for a week straight grinding daily. It's so much fun.
On my server, I'm able to get in the top 200 and sometimes 100 on a bunch of the modes. It feels really rewarding as a game.

Love your reviews and also guides, they are so helpful to watch and listen to, and your opinions are always a good view point on how to approach the game contents, keep doing what you are doing, tons of people appriciate it, i know i do!
For anyone who likes this game and wants more you can try their previous game afk arena, its older and u need an emulator but it holds up and its much more in depth with 5 years of content and qol to it. Also a preview of what they could add to afk journey.
Okay so the game got multiple server and would put people starting on roughly the same time on a same server? That'd be cool, I kinda want to try but Always thought I'm already behind If I'm starting now lol. I might try it out if it's the case.

I play this game f2p and I love it. My brother plays as a dolphin and tries to buy me packs but I continue to refuse. I love playing this game the way it is right now- at the end of the day were all going to be at the same spot for characters as long as u keep moving forward and growing- Nothing done nothing gained.

I started playing after you played in live past week, I'm loving the game, I'm from Brazil so unfortunately here it worth even less spending in the game, as a f2p I'm so happy with my account and the game surprised me so much, now I stopped playing genshin and started afk journey 😅
I just wish you could display your main 5 roster on your profile underneath your character. In AFK Arena you could showcase your main 5. Not only as a flex but it was also good for newer players to view high tier squads. It just added personality to viewing a profile, I miss it. Plus the badges were cool in AFK Arena :/

Was really good at the start, really saw it as a good game with awesome artstyle and combat, but after a few weeks i got tired of having to wait 4 days to be able to level 1 character from lvl 110 to 120. Guess its just as Tash man said, afk games are not for everyone
This game is so underrated, the afk verse is overlooked as it is usually placed in the category of games to ignore because it is one of those game franchises that heavily advertises wherever it can and so people say its something as bad as RSL or those stick games that come up on your advertisement feed. When in reality its an absolute gem of a genre defining game that respects your time A LOT and is actually very satisfying to play.

I watched an ad of this game and was kind of amazed. I didn’t end up downloading it but I think I might now.
I mean the game is good there's no denying that but let's be real when 22nd of may comes my focus will shift to wuwa
feels like a straight up copy of idle heroes, but with waaaay more quality of life. looks great!
I’m enjoying it but am getting about around my characters being level 100
my problem with afk journey is that what is the difference between it and other rpgs, granted i have only played one other rpg which is cookie run kingdom but i feel like crk has given me a lot of rpg knowledge and when i compare both games i find that the games are no differnet from each other. e.g story mode, guilds and guild battels, ranked, different rarties of charecters, ascending your charcter, skills, classes, some afk aspects. so in my opinion am trying to give afk more time but up to now it really doesnt feel differen from crk and crk has a lot more depth.
I started to play it and I couldn't stop playing. Loving the game. And it's very f2p friendly imo
Game is good, I can work and enjoy some gaming even for 30 minutes which I really appreciate since I don't have much time gaming nowadays.

Neat game idk how long I’ll be playing it long term though. With Genshin Impact it seemed to get worse over time. (That is my opinion) Gachas at the beginning of their run throw tons of units at you to keep engagement. And slow down pulls a lot. If this game has decent events and keeps giving decent awards maybe I will stick around. I drop most gachas the first 2 weeks. Also how predatory these games can be is pretty bad.
Plot twist: he was paid to do all of this, including making a separate channel for the game.

I have concerns about game from the f2p/low spender's perspective _(in the long-run)_ .
Be as the player forced to spend 12k gems for basic copy of time-limited character works now, but in 6 months or 1 year, when you will be have mythic team, it doesnt make any sense to pull new unit, because the stats matters - so you will be facing the challenge to choose time-limited unit for ~45k gems with half abilities and lower stats _(than you have already)_ or skip it.
That is why if you want to quit, You better quit it now. I love this game but I still quit because I already know what will happen to the future of this kind of game. But it is a good game nonetheless.
So skip them, what the problem. Im gonna enjoy my supreme+ odie forever
You actually need to spend 60k gems for a mythic+/supreme character.
If you're low spender that buys the $4.99 pass, if you're an active player and if you're on an ok guild, you can actually get more than 30k diamonds a month.
Considering the rate-up banners have a duration of like 3-4 weeks you could actually get a supreme rate-up character every 2 months (which would be like every 2 banners for pass buyers and 3 banners for f2p). All character that are not celestial and hipogean go to the wishlist after the banner is over too.
On other hand, if you're champion at arena, you could actually get a mythic+ celestial/hipogean every 3-4 months (could be less depending on your luck).
You shouldn't pull for rate-up characters if you won't be able to get it to mythic+ (it's better to save diamonds). The option to skip banners is obvious, not every character that will be released will be good, Florabelle for example is not good like Vala, or maybe a character that will be released won't make a big difference on your team, so those type of characters you should simply skip and wait for a good one that would improve your roster.
I read everything and still don't get whats your point. Firstly all the banner characters will go to wishlist so you can pull dupes at your own timing if you are f2p. Secondly, most of the S tier units are A ranks in this game which you can get 1 every 3 -5 days depend on your ranking. Third, unless you want play competitive, there is no need to full supreme+. At that point you are not f2p. F2p should not be expecting to be competitive in any gacha game that have pvp elements.

I have played games like this before souls it really similar to this game and tbh i played that game for 2 to 3 months then later on you will find hard to ascend to character as you need whaling so i stopped it

This game is a banger, I really thought I would ONLY play this until Wuwa comes out.. but I might actually keep playing this if they keep this quality up and give us new content with the seasons and all. Its very refreshing playing an AFK-game, coming from HSR.

The og AFK Arena was good and was cloned so much. I feel like Journey has a bright future and we’re gonna see a ton of clones of this one too.
I have followed Mtashed enough through some other games that I can tell when he ACTUALLY likes a game or is miffed with with it. He LIKES this game. A LOT.

I only kept playing as a f2p cuz of the tactical factor. Beating enemies 30 level ahead feels so rewarding. This game gives me the feeling, that I can always progress, if I try hard enough.
Sweet summer child, it is designed that way, they add road blocks encouraging you to spend, when you go past those road blocks you best the stages much easier till the next road block, this game is pure predatory, they use every method to get you to spend, they throw the shop at you constantly, there is a reason u can lvl up like a few times and then a smash everything
@@WeAreGhuraba the only thing is, that I won’t spent. It’s an endless marathon, spending money would just let me hit the next “road block”. I don’t get why people pay 30 - 50 bucks to do the same thing I do just with a slightly higher number. You won’t compete with that investment anyway and you will lose the feeling of accomplishment after a short time.
Go all in, be a whale, or don’t spent a dime.
That’s why I like this game, cuz it doesn’t make sense to pay at all. And having f2p friends to compete with makes you feel like spending is cheating.

If you're too low on afk stages they give you a buff to grow faster. I think they do it because they want us to feel guilty and to pay them, right?

@Mtashed i like you but this game will slowly turn into pay to win slowly like they did with afk arena but to be fair its a fun side scroller but i recommend you to not get attached to this game to long and i say this as previous afk arena player but they atleast add endgame content that gets slowly repetetive but it will be good for time being for you.
tbh my only experience with gacha was with genshin but I decided to check this out and I'm kinda blown away at how generous/giving this game has been.
I'm about 3 days in and I think I'll be sticking around. It's cool that they've not yet chosen to gate gameplay by making characters paywalled (or needing to skip multiple banners of a character to secure the one you want).
The spending seems more focused on how OP you wanna make your roster, compared to even securing a copy

My only regret is I didn't begin playing the game sooner. The game doesn't feel that punishing as a light spender as you only need to spend exorbitantly if you want to be one of the best in your world, which itself is unnecessary.

Not my cup of tea as far as playstyle goes, but I have to say after watching this I have a more positive outlook towards this game.
I didn't plan to play it at all first. But I don't know why but I installed it without having much hope or expectations. But now I play everyday since launch (I just missed 2 days or 1 I guess at the start) and I can't stop. I absolutely love it.
its a good game, KIND of. theres f2p then theres p2w. as a gatcha game p2w is of course much more advanced how ever in this game its somewhat rng based unless you spend hundreds of dollars, im 2m power f2p after 2 weeks so its not too difficult HOWEVER. i am very dissapointed in the upcoming season, you must be 230/240 res ( unit level) to access it which for most people including me means we cant do the actual season intil 2 3 or maybe even a whole MONTH after it started
