I don't understand the point of the curtain rod and twine if you aren't actually holding the pictures from it and still making holes in the wall. Isn't the point of a picture rod so that you don't make as many holes in the wall?
Maybe she liked the idea of them hanging but don't want them swinging???

This would be cool above/behind a bed if you added some curtains that reach the floor on the ends 🤔. I like the idea of just letting the items hang from the twine but this feels more secure.
The items aren't actually hanging from the twine. She's still putting nails into the wall. I don't love it. It's not believable that the twine is holding all that stuff. Usually, you would use small hooks screwed into the top and bottom of the frames to hook the chain to. It's usually used in historic homes with plaster walls or on fabric covered walls. It hangs from the molding or ceiling.
