This is The only One Channel with such a superb Content! And such a great Host ! I thank Mr. Weeks so much for this great Hours...like a few Days ago...the Doolittle Ride ! Awesome ! 😃
What a nice early Christmas present! Do you intend to exhibit the 109 fuselage in the Museum Light without wings, or only when the whole restoration is completely finished?
Some years ago I was at FF (my happy place) when Kermit did a Q&A with guests (there were maybe 20 people there). My question was; "What don't you have that you wish you did?". He didn't really answer, he said something like "If I tell you what it is I'll end up paying more for it". I swear I was thinking BF-109 when I asked the question.
I'm sorry if this was meant to be a joke. The serious answer is no. Plastic didn't enter wide spread use until after WW2. Mostly becoming commercially viable in the 1950s.
A talent like Paul doesn't come along every day. I think Paul probably misses Fantacy of Flight too. He's teaching new A&P students at Emory Riddle. A Dream Gig for a man with talent like Paul. I do wish we had seen the finish of the project he was working on prior to his departure. We wish you well Paul!
I know the fans / followers of the 108 restoration do. Though I can understand the reason the 108 restoration is on hold, I had hoped for continuation. But Kermit‘s workforce is quite thin with all his projects and work beside them. None free to just take over.
I do not believe the blades are overhauled, they are brand new composite blades. There are two companies in Germany that can / do manufacture composite prop blades for Warbirds, Hoffmann and MT (who did this one and the prop for the 108). The hub and the metal parts on the blades are most probably overhauled / only partly new. To answer the question: yes, they are balanced at the prop shop.
Living the dream Kermit. Right on. Thank you for your dedication to our love of aircraft. Everyday is Christmas day!

Christmas came early! Thanks Kermit.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your whole family Mr Weeks. Be safe and take care.
Same to you!
I didn't know Unicorns had 3 blades. Amazing!

Do you miss Paul yet?

Dumb question, do they balance the prop when overhauling?

Temu probably sells them for 3.99 a piece
