One of the many great things about the Kermit Cams is we get to hear the sounds of the aircraft, no some hokey music. Thanks Kermit
When I worked at the Sikorsky test facility in Jupiter, an S-38 dropped in for a visit, the zebra-striped replica I believe. I remember the twin rudders and twin engines. Remarkable aircraft, right down to the wicker passenger seats.
Love your vids, Kermit, but why didn’t you show the engine start? All of us grounded, ran out of money, armchair, flightsim pilots love to see engine starts…
What you did right, however, is to NOT play a bunch of crappy music over the sounds of the aircraft! Bravo!!
God I love this aircraft. Out of step with the times. Slightly? archaic, inefficient, loud and noisy, in need of on going tender loving care? . I have a lot in common with it. 😅
That plane is just like a classic hippy VW Combi camper. 'Ceptin it fly's and floats, without drugs.
I hope your neighbors appreciate the vintage plane airshows they get.
Spent a lot of my teenage and early 20s at Manatee Airport , my grandfather Walter Burd had a repair shop there where I learned to wrench on airplanes.
Loved this…..also the Super Connie is one of the most beautiful airplanes ever
Just one of the coolest planes ever thanks for showing it.
Thank you Kermit and team for keeping these jewels airworthy!
Man. There isn’t much I wouldn’t give for a flight with Kermit somewhere.
That is my absolute favorite airplane in the world!
This flight is a real adventure
I swear...flying back in the day, landing at home base was always to soon. How can something that feels so good be ended so soon. Even after she's tucked away in the hangar, keep looking back to make sure she's still there. IFR YUP.
Always enjoy a good Kermie Cam. Thanks!
Excited to see tantalizing glimpse of the PBY Catalina getting some major work done, cannot wait to see it in a future video Kermit! 😃☘
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting.
Nice afternoon flight for you and Don, Kermit.
Nice day for flying.
Love this little aircraft of yours. Neat airplane.
Looks like everyone enjoyed seeing it.
Thanks for taking us along Kermit.
Take care.
Retired Air Force veteran.
😊👋🇺🇸🇺🇸
Sweet sounding radial!
I think this plane is beautiful !!!
Nice day ride, very cool plane.
Your Sikorsky is an amazing little plane....Thanks Kermit & Don 👍
Old Shoe🇺🇸
Thanks for taking us along on your little Excursions . . . Bob
Kermit you are the coolest guy. I remember one of your ideos where you talked about the history of the S-39. I hope one day I can see you flying the constellation .
Would have loved to see the whole start up sequence! Here's an idea for video series, start up procedure for what you fly ;)
Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas to you, your family, and your crew.😅
Same to you!
Great vid Mr. Kerm's. Loved it!
What a sweet little plane, the only way to fly, 97 mph over Fla. on a cotton ball cloud day.
Sweet plane, thanks for sharing. Been to FoF twice, still have my Lee Archer T shirt....😊
Never mind Kermit. We have to look for Don all the time up here in Saskatoon too!!🤣🤣
Nice,from Mexico!
That Aircraft has a Good Soul 🐦👍
Great aircraft… a real beauty she is
Aviation is a such a great community!
sou good Kermie
Always a good time with Admiral Weeks!!
Admiral? This guy is not military.
@@georgeburns7251 It was in JEST !!!
There is no Admiral rank in the Air Force. 😁
Lucky man Kermit.
Somewhat reminiscent of a Consolidated black cat 🐈⬛ .
A flying giraffe 🦒 scheme.
Are you restoring the PBY-3 there? I noticed she was taken apart. Fond memories of that one, seeing it out on the tarmac when my grandpa took me to Fantasy of Flight as a kid. one of the many aircraft I could go up and touch in your collection, that spurred a love for all things aviation.
Going into storage to await restoration.
@@KermitWeeks444 shame it's going into storage, but I hope to see it back together and flying in a few years!
GOOD VIDEO....KEEP EM FLYING
isn’t the S-39 did the over haul =/annual last video i saw
Beautiful old timer , the plane, not Kermit. 🐻
Any hope for the S38;in Owatonna?
Nice trip, Always, with em capital deles.
I remember arriving at every airport and being the center of attention. Pretty easy when your showing up in an antique airplane like the Sikorsky S-39 or in our case, the Staggerwing! How much longer before the S-38 gets in the air?
Is that a Constellation on the side of the runway?
Is it me or does that look identical to a Catalina flying boat?
My Favorite airplanes of all time! How's the 109 coming Kermit?
Are those cars on the Interstate moving faster than the S-39??
Cool, this seems to be your favorite plane. When's the next planned maiden or restored maiden?
Could happen any time. :-)
He just called himself Colonel lol maybe he meant corndog 😅
Ha ha, he purchased a commission in the Chinese force . Hot dog for sure.
👍
El Capitan Weeks and tmerthwondetful machines
Paper chart?
Did you fly this plane back in 2003 in the Golden age of aviation National Tour Sept 2003? I remember seeing it and I have pictures of it when it was here in Des Moines Iowa. I remember the pilot arguing with the gas truck guy because the gas truck guy was telling people to stay away while he fueled the aircraft and the pilot saying come on over look at the plane :)
Didn’t own the plane back then
I have an Aviation question. How do pilots avert obstacles ( antennae, power lines and such), flying entirely low altitude, besides just visually?
Considering inclement weather, clouds, mist. (?)
Are there FAA "maps" identifying such obstacles?
TY in advance. 😊
@Sweetpotato456
Thank you for the information. That's pretty much what I concluded prior.
Yes, I was also considering low altitude flying to a new-to-you locale.
Thank you. And thank you, Kermit Weeks.
I'm still waiting for a large check from the Publisher's Clearing House to buy me a toy like yours.
I was hoping that destination would have been a water landing to savior the gravy that only these old amphibians can deliver.
It looks like a gentle flyer with a nice slow landing speed.
Amelia Earhart picked the wrong kind of airplane. With one of these she might have survived to fly another day.
We Are All So Lucky,,, We Are Lucky That Kermit Shares His Life, and Toys With Us !!! What a Great Airplane !!! I Think,,, "Howard de Hughes" Had One,,, I Might Be Mistaken,,,, Just Thinking,,, In Fact He May of "Dumped One",,, Not Sure....
What kinda tight was Don safety harness ?🤬😂
Too tight!
At 4:45 the video says "IFR (I Follow roads) down Interstate 4!" wouldn't that be VFR...? 🤔
It’s an old joke i fly roads and railroads
👍👍👍👍👍✌️🙏
What did you have for lunch?
They have a pretty good sausage sandwich there.
Very beautiful aircraft definitely my type is that controlled airspace ?
My old airport yahoo!
no one was wondering that
The wind is strong here in Clearwater.
UA-cam unsubscribed you without me knowing.
Any old plane just won't do.
how would you like a monster seaplane? that used to belong to pan american. they claim there are none left however a guy i know in idaho on a private lake has one think it is a pan american clipper. his grandfather bought it just before they scrapped it. been sitting half in the lake and half out for over 70 years. he told me a week or so ago he wants to get rid of it. he said he does not know what it is worth. i said well i think it is the only one left in the world ,, probably several million. do not donate it.he said he had no intention of donating it.when i went inside it is all original no leaks. it is also covered in ahuge ass tarp if interested let me know
Sounds like a project! Happy to look at some pictures! Send to pzizza@fantasyofflight.com
FYI - I only paid $500,000 for my FLYING four-engine Short Sunderland, which, after some refreshing, we flew across the Atlantic in 1993!
