there's something so cool about a still recovering Nicky Ryan still demoing a perfect sweep into a leglock and catching his hat as it falls off on the way @8:25
Thx mate! We see it as basically practicing documentary filmmaking. This audio is from our new mic. Got complaints on the audio so upgraded. Gonna keep attempting to film masterfully.
As someone who used to take Danaher's Thursday afternoon class in NYC with Nicky, I must say that his technique explanation is like John's without the Kiwi accent. Glad to see Nicky come into his own as an instructor.
nicky is one of my fav bjj personalities. so calm and relaxed, he has a great attitude, and everytime i see him teaching it looks so good too, cant wait to go to austin and see the kid in person!
@@CountfilmsTV thank God you guys are producing it, not fanatics, so that there will be some actual editing and no cameramen breathing heavily into the mic
I can’t believe Nicky is getting around so well after his meniscus repair surgery. I had the same procedure and I’m having a hell of a time recovering.
Round of sparring was really cool. Does the guy with a hoodie has a wrestling background, he was really good at getting from turtle to single leg. The coach, I forgot his name defended really well by keeping his opponent head down then moving around. He hit 3 wonderful sweeps 10’54”,12’28” and 13’30” and the 4th was almost there. Really fun and highly technical spar. The techniques Nicky Ryan taught at the beginning were good, nice details. Oss
@@syoussef763 I watched the video again to reply to your comment. There was a nice flow and they didn’t go too hard but we can appreciate that the coach seems more technical and the hoodie guy stronger/maybe also heavier, as it is hard for the coaches to stay on top even after a successful sweep. The scrambles are cool because they go through technique, hand fighting, leg trip attempt, Ashi Garami entries…really cool
Good to practice talking into a camera. I would be dripping sweat if I wore a hoodie while rolling. Man, what a school with both Nickys. There will be line-ups from there to the next state to get in. Both Nickys are great grapplers. I want to cry when I think about Nicky Ryan's older brother Gordon, who is arguably the best BJJ competitor of all time and has a stomach ailment that is keeping him out of competition. Gordon is still young and has years left to get to his prime. It is the saddest thing in sports. I hope that Gordon gets the medical help that he needs to get back to competing. He loves competing and is never happy to just win. He needs a submission in order to feel good about a fight. That's passion. I hope Gordon gets to fight Andre Galvao in a submission only, no time limit fight. That would be the fight of the century. Maybe a best of 3 would be the best way to establish who is the better grappler. My money would be on Gordon, but it would be close. Galvao is no slouch and has beaten all the greatest BJJ guys.
His name is Nick Ortiz. He’s been an Uke of Craig Jones and John Danaher. An Uke is the training partner during an instructional. Ortiz is high level and still up and coming.
Thanks for watching!!! Nick Ortiz does private lessons. Count our main creator takes lessons with him. He’s legit. If in Austin give him a DM on Instagram if you’re looking for lessons!!! Not too late to get into BJJ

When did he not have that?
Got to train with him about a month ago at B-Team. Really nice dude, very approachable. He really takes the time to answer questions about technique.
really does seem like the nicest guy.

6:55 - That is brilliant! Y'all are on another level.
I really like how the guys are training in the last part of the video at 9:20... smooth and technical.
I love this music in the background … it’s a nice and authentic feature of the content
Count produced tunes
Some of the best BJJ content on UA-cam right now.

Niky is humble and a Prodigy
Just an observation detail. Using the opponents arm to pull and push at same time to allow staying tight..
This is the BJJ substitute while VIC is in lockdown. Cheers from down under!
Love this channel guys! I'd drop everything to come train full time with you lot 👊
Great stuff!
Love this content
You guys should do compression stuff
I was waiting at the end to get the hoodie guy choked by his own hoodie 😅
@2:14 for a second I thought that was Dillon Danis on the right 😅
In lockdown in Australia and can’t train
Stay strong mate. Cheers from the team

its crazy how nicky seems like not a f4660t, which is a complete 180 from his sister. good on him.
