One of the many things I truly RESPECT about Jacko, and Bo as well... They aren't just teaching... They are ALWAYS learning.. Watch Jacko (and Bo, and the other masters of their 'arts') especially when they aren't front and center on camera or mic, and are just doing their thing.. Watch them pay attention... And, I don't just mean situational attention..
@@zaarongaming8174 ya thanks. This hand on the head is soo disgusting and helpful for takedowns. I won first by points and second fight by taktarov. Beautiful feelings.
@@thenotoriousmmakd9118 Aweeesome stuff man, yeah the head on hand works wonders! I'm always pumped to see guys use wrestling in BJJ, especially as a diehard Nickal enjoyer. I've got a competition coming up later this month, I'll let you know if I'm able to pull anything off; I'm one of the less experienced guys in my division, but I'm probably the most athletic, so it'll be fun.
i love the way he teaches, im not even there and i feel like im getting some use out of this if i ever get into a street fight, lots of knowledge he has, good stuff
Not trying to disagree with bo's wisdom, but i have found that keeping the head high with a proud chest while finishing the double leg keeps you very safe from guillotines
It’s a common defense, but wrestlers are foundational in the front headlock system offense and defense. A lot of Danaher and Gordon’s escape come from wrestling techniques like the sucker drag and elbow posting.
For starters I have to say, “me too.” Bo is dealing with real fighters, some of whom are guillotine masters. This is why he is stressing keeping the chin down, to have defense ahead of their attack. Against the regular gym grappler, you are right. Then one day you go against someone who has the position at a high level and now you are a step behind…instead of having your defense ahead of his attack. In addition his position prevents the attack, which is good Jiu Jitsu. Don’t be sad, just “keep that chin up.”😂🫵🏻😂
Damn, good stuff. As bjj players get more wrestling and stop butt scooting, it will make it so much more exciting again, I enjoy the takedowns just as much the ground exchanges.
What happens in part number 1 if they threaten the shoulder throw Seoi nage? You just roll with them and rear naked? Most of the time it’s too fast to even react to. I see why a lot of guys go into collar tie and hand fight with the opposite free hand so no one can get grips. I know it’s a battle of using momentum against them, but grip fighting and gaining grips is so underrated if you can ware the other guy out and are super strong
Are you’re asking what happens if the guy on the bottom (aka the guy being pulled around by Bo) threatens a seoi nage? If so, then I don’t think that’s likely to happen as long as 1) Bo has the inside tie, and 2) he’s putting pressure on the guy’s head. I’m a brown belt in judo so I’ve hit seoi nage a lot and I’ve hit seoi nage many times before during no gi practice and I’ve always hit it after getting the inside tie. I just don’t feel like that bicep grip at 6:29 is a good enough grip to pull his arm forward, so hence why I think as long as the inside tie is there, he should be ok. Now the collar tie is the important part because keeps him bent over will in turn make it difficult for him to swing his hips around. Now if the guy tries to hit the seoi nage on Bo’s collar tie arm, then Bo can stop or slow down his rotation with the inside tie.
@@minhquando100Also, what happens if he collar ties back with his right hand on Bo’s neck? Does that mean I wasn’t using the collar tie properly? [keeping my head close with his instead of keeping him at mid range by pushing the neck away?] I would assume you just peel the tie off with a reverse grip, or push the bicep away to counter into your own under hook? Or just re-grip entirely? How not to turn it into a game of attrition?
Bo spends an entire seminar teaching his ultimate craft, honed during life-time of wrestling, to jiu-jitsu players. Jiu-jitsu players at next competition: immediate guard pull.
I realize this seminar may have been attended by strictly high level people, and I appreciate it being shared for free. However, me watching this video is like me going to Jerry Rice for advice on running routes. Step 1: be capable of executing every sub-action of every potential movement at a top 250 humans on the planet level. Step 2: have the knowledge to perfectly leverage your power, while destroying your opponents leverage with every sub-action. Step 3: turn that knowledge into instinctive reaction responses. Step 4: “Here is what I would do.”

You have to remember O Sensei Seagal is at one with nature in a way that takes decades of dedicated practice.
Invaluable information, thank you Bo.

Great stuff. You can tell why Bo is next level. Can't wait to see him be champ.
Why? Does he turn you on? Is he the fighter you find most sexy?
Wrestlers don't have submissions nor do they know how to strike one or both required ingredients to be a UFC champ.

that arm trapped - back take at @22:12 was slick. haven't seen that before. I wonder if the hips would be controlled well enough?
