Use Gulf canning wax. Cheap from Walmart
good video
How do you know what size pot to use for what amount of wax?
How long does it take to loose the salty smell from dye?...if you wax after
Very good video teaches a clean efficient method
What was in the solution?
You said to put them in a tub with leafs after waxing. Is that to mask scent? Or just for storage?
i actually melt my wax on top of my bucket of water boiling, maybe 4 inches deep of floating wax..then let my trap sit on bottom, in the water, to get hot and slowly pull it up thru the wax and give it a shake.. . that stops the wax from getting too thick a layer. also i stick a nail between the trap jaws to seal those edges of steel smell too. then after they cool they go straight in my trap bag full of fall leaves and maybe a squirt of fox piss to be stored outdoors til trapping time to keep them from smelling human.
Should this be clean water? Or leftover dye with wax?
What's the deal with leaves??
How do you remove the wax on a pot after waxing
i just waxed mine last night and i asked myself the same thing
I'd probably leave the wax in the pot let cool then when you need it again get out your "wax pot" and heat it up again unit you need to add more
Can somebody tell me why I need to do this and dose it matter if I don’t do it
Idk I’m 12 and just waxing traps because my cousin who traps says I need to.
I haven't waxed any of mine. And already caught 4 fox's a possum and my neighbors cat. So I'd say it doesn't matter much. But of course it my depend on where your trapping.
