I never really played to much online and since I did everything on invasion I mailed sub doing it to so I know like 2 maybe 3 combos by heart I'm level 56 and I got sub at mastery 26 but everytime I try to start attacking first in always countered idk how he works do should I wait and counter instead since he is slower?
subs combo start ups are so slow that you always get down jabbed and upper cutted before it lands😑
Yeah, I really want to play sub but when everyone else has faster start ups it’s hard to even get a hit in sometimes
He’s a counter character that relies on 50/50s. When landing a d1 try throwing a b3 or a b2. Use an assist to stay safe

@@televitanuki he most definitely is. Probably one of the most annoying characters to be stuck in the corner against. He’s been this way since mk9. Ice Klone in the corner to 50/50.

Dude, I love that they made combos in this so much more forgiving than 11. You can get away with quarter circles on console which is SWEET

He might not be the best character in the game but he's still my favorite 😭 against more experienced players he definitely is harder to climb with but i still find him very enjoyable to play. Just hopefully they make him a bit faster later on.

I'm 2-0 in the beta with him online, he's definitely my favorite of the beta cast for sure. And i didn't expect him to be that fun cause i hated him in 11 but he's a blast in this game and his combos are so clean and rewarding. Glad I have a character I can be good with day 1 of the game instead of having to lab 24 characters to see who i'm good with and like

Air 1 1 2 into dive kick allows further extension into forward 1 2 slide after the dive kick (just found out)

This is the first MK game since MK4. I’m addicted to it & this guide helped me out so much! Thank you 🙌🏻 currently he’s the only character I’m somewhat decent with. Any other characters you recommend me mastering next?

I wouldn't sleep on his J2,1. With the right Kameo(Like Scorpion, up kameo) that jump string offers insane and almost unrivaled corner carry potential. Even without Kameo Sub can combo naturally out of J2,1 for good corner carry on his own. My preferred mid screen combo is f1,2, EXDF4, b2, J2,1 2,1, slide. Offers about 33% and can carry someone from mid screen to near corner which is where Sub wants his opponents to be. If your to far away at the start of b2 you will need your kameo to combo it but if your right on the opponent it will actually combo rather easily without kameos. If your looking for damage then J1,2 is amazing for adding in chunky damage. With Scoprion Kameo, his 3,4 4,4 b3,4 can all start combos or offer some nice mix ups that starts combos which makes Sub quite a bit more deadly thanks to Scorpion's forward kameo being an overhead. Goro also works well with Sub as well being able to fill in the J2,1 combo extender role that Scorpion does while offering his amazing punch rush

Here’s a combo I may have invented myself, B2, B2, J1, 2, F1, 2, BF3 easy 30% damage right there, just make sure you freeze them before you do the combo, it’s very punishable.

For air kombos if you do the 2-1 air kombo and have sonya you can extend it which is kinda cool.
Also I cant quite figure out how to like do the deadly vapors after like F1-2 then do it again depending on how much meter you have but I can only do it once in other clips they can keep doing F1-2, deadly vapors and then do it again but when I try it doesn't register if I try doing it more than once

@@cocobeware7555 You gotta wait a bit before using the second ground ice. Usually the cue is to watch when the ice starts disappearing then you can go into another one.

it’s also good to note that if you hit confirm the first overhead for spinal tap you can special cancel it into a slide for a low and mix up your opponent even more.

Yeah this is important, was about to come to post but saw this. Also if you are fast you can dash in and extend combos from the air and don't necessarily have to use the spike air option.
I was actually trying to get into playing him as of recently, I’ve been a Johnny main on release with a hint of scorpion so it’s a really hard change of pace. However I wouldn’t sleep on the J2 1. I use Sonya and she’s a great kombo extender while in the air and actually able to pull off a 42% combo with her as a kameo. However, it requires a lot of meter and I don’t really find it optimal, but just saying J2 1 isn’t the worst if you have the right kameo.

I found a cool 11 hit corner combo but after watching this it looks like I could possibly extende it with the upgraded arial attack. Gotta hit the lab

It’s just the timing in the BLOCK + MOVE that can be a bit hard to fine tune. Keep up the good work and practice!
Last button of the special move needs to be pressed at the exact same time as the enhance/block button

Ya the Kameo can be a bit hard on the timing, depending on the Kameo fighter and the main fighters combos. And breaker is forward and and block (R2) at the same time during hit stun

Im a OG subzero player . Every saying hes slow and everything , Subzero has always been for strategy fighters . He is a strategy fighter . But he definitely seems slower. From this video i can tell he was much faster than 11 X and 9 . Im buying the game today .

Aight so I'm losing my mind. I was playing invasion against a subzero challenge and he started spears and ice axes at me and I havent been able to find anything that says that I can or cant do this. Am I tripping ?
I think that that’s just invasions bosses stuff 😅
also sub zero got like 17 low moves haha lol so every move he makes is potential bait for low block, which will condition them to take that hammer to the head. if that's the trade off for having one over head, it's actually good since it means you'll almost always have that threat looming over your opponent. They could simply always block high and tank the lows since they're low reward, but you only got so much health.

I’m kind of a noob(no pun intended) with MK. I can get specials to come out but can’t pull off the enhanced ones(special plus R2 on PS5). What’s the timing?
You have to hit R2 at the exactly same time as the special button (1,2,3, or 4) it can be a bit hard in some specials to get the exact timing down 😅 keep up the practice though!

Forgot to mention ice trap probably the best special to confirm into does the most damage and you can do it multiple times if you wanna cash out you can get up to like 50 something percent with a good kameo

Hello. Considering that watching is one thing, and playing is completely another thing, can you please tell me if playing MK1 you have MK11 vibes or MKX / IJ2 vibes ? I loved MKX, enjoyed IJ2, was kinda disappointed with MK11 and well, since I'm on PC and can't play the beta, I just want an honest opinion. I don't want to waste my hard earned money like I did with MK11, so, can you tell me what game comes into your mind, when playing it ? MK11, MKX /IJ2. This way, I'll know for sure if it's worth ( for me ) to buy it or no. Thank you very much.
Playing MK1 I get injustice 2 vibes for sure. The camera setting, the movement and flow of the match and combos, it feels more like injustice 2 with a hint of MKX. But now we have kameos and air combos to help keep it fresh and fun

From my experience it’s not the easiest or best combo tool (like doing it in combos) I’m sure there are ways possibly using kameos and the ice ball. But it’s just so slow on start up 😅

it takes some time getting the timing down, it depends on how high the opponent is in the air when you start the glide

This game is so gd slow. MK9 felt so fluid and I just don’t know why they can’t have gameplay like that again
Well it goes back to the saying “if you wanted that, you should just play that” why make MK9 when MK9 already exists. NRS tries to mix things up and keep it fresh. Which is a big reason they’re so successful. It’s just the beta, im sure some changes will be made to fix a few things
@@onestep It doesn’t have to be exactly like the game lmao, just implement quicker gameplay again, what’s the issue with that? The game literally has everything else nailed except for the gameplay speed. Whether I like the game or not I always buy them anyways, I just don’t want to be stuck playing another slow MK game. 11 was a damn chore to play. But it is definitely an improvement over that beast. I wish people would band together and get the dash speed bumped up, I really feel like it would fit with the smooth combos and improve it tenfold

You no you can cancel back 2 after you do it hurry up and do back forward 2 and it will hit with first hit then cancel into ice punch I don't know if it will work with anything else need to see huh cause that would be perfect to full people with 🤔

So i found out you can actually follow up the air 1 2 with the dive kick (UNenhanced) and then continue with forward 1 2 into slide, unfortunately it’s so hard to get it. I’m an average/advanced player and for some reason I can’t get the follow up after the dive kick, i press forward 1 and the game recognizes it as a neutral 2. Could you try this for me and maybe put it in your next video?
Ik exactly what you mean. I’ve seen kombat do it on stream but it’s fucking impossible to replicate I have no clue how
Ya I’ll do my best! And keep in mind sometimes it might be best to do combos that are more consistent than try a combo that has hard timing, just to try and get another bit of damage😅 but I’ll try!

I’ve found that most characters only have one true launcher for air combos and at least subs is an overhead 😅
Ill be honest, i came here to get better tips on how to play sub. I just reached master rank in KL and im not about to continue fighting dudes without getting a better understanding of my main (sub). The thing that catches almost everyone is b2, bf3 9/10 times itll catch them. If they catch on to what your doing, you can always do db1, to make it safe.

Not trying to be an asshole but this video is not a great guide to Sub. They’ve missed out on key strategies and the combos are extremely low damage.
It’s a beginners guide to give a new player or beginner a good foundation to start from. It’s not a “super in depth crazy pro player champion of tournaments” guide
@@onestep I havent played an MK game since the OG Xbox days, this honestly was no help to me at all. The comment below of "1 Square, 2 Tri, 3 X, 4 O" was more helpful than the entire video. I think youre just going a bit too fast, needs to be more in depth as well.
