    I have listened to this piece well over 400 times now and continue to be amazed by this man's genius, musicality, and virtuosity. Even the great Raphael Mendez might have a little trouble with parts of this arrangement

    he is totally free - what a feeling for every note!
    he brings me back after a long break.
    did start again -
    thank you Sergei

    I've listened to this several times, and it blows me away every time! Nakariakov is one of my favorite trumpeters. He is definitely among the best to ever walk this earth. If I can ever play with half the musicality, expression, control, accuracy, consistency, tone, and passion as he demonstrates in this recording, as well as many others I have heard, I will be one happy trumpeter. The virtuosity with which Sergei plays this almost brings me to tears because it is so fantastic.

    This piece was recorded in November/December 1999. Nakariakov was born in 1977, so he was 22. So not in his late 20's as I said before, didn't check ;)
    Even if not in his teens, still incredibly impressive

    I personally feel he shouldn't sound like anyone else but himself! Maurice Andre set the bar very high but the beauty behind all of this is having your own sound while adhering to certain rules!

    I've only been listening to him for about the last 2 weeks but...WOW!
    He is about as technically perfect as any trumpet player I have ever heard. I thought, until now, that Maurice Andre held that spot.
    Move over Maurice!

    my 1.5 year old son adores this piece, it helps him to relax when he is crying, to concentrate on his play, he is just curiously and carefully listening for every note. This is so interesting!!!

  • @AbigailPoirier

    Wow! I have loved this piece on violin for years and had doubts a trumpet could do it justice. A trumpet can't, but Sergei Nakariakov can. What a tone!
    Obviously some parts had to be lowered, but very little. I am beyond impressed!

    Esplêndido!!!! Criança se iniciou no piano, mas aos 11 anos se machucou nas costas, o que o impediu de prosseguir com aquele instrumento, quando seu pai o induziu ao trompete. Aos 13 anos já participava de concertos e gravava discos. Hoje, aos 42 anos, continua inigualável. Não deixe de ouvir 'Variations on a theme from Norma': um show de virtuosismo.

    Sure Clint. You may have a point. Why don't you post a recording of you playing this and we can all hear what you mean.
    Personally, I'm not sure if I've heard another trumpet player with such command over the instrument coupled with such beautiful musical artistry. But that's just my opinion. And what do I know…

    • @clintphillips2461
      @clintphillips2461 10 років тому +1

      Mike, Hilarious :) No one wants to hear ME play this. I'm a former trumpet player who tried to get good at it but was a decent college player at best. I'm still a trumpet lover who, though I might struggle through these notes, would certainly sound worse than Sergei. Hence the reference to Maurice and Hakan (and even Wynton Marsalis), all of whom could play much better than I ever could. But for the past 15-20 years, every time I listen to Sergei, I always think "Wow! That's SO fast and perfect - yet so strident and annoying." He will amaze and never miss a note, but he still makes my ears hurt. I could be wrong. Really, does no one else hear this?!

    • @alicegariepy4270
      @alicegariepy4270 9 років тому +1

    dimostrazione di talento puro superiore ad ogni aspettativa oè paganini rinato per la seconda volta o non lo so.... credo che con questi concerti si è lasciato alle spalle tutti i più grandi trombettisti di tutti i tempi,non ho parole ,solo maurice andrè forse è imbattibile sul piano del calore e della qualità inimpareggiabile rotondità di suono ,ma nakariakov è un mostro di tutto il meglio di maurice andrè in piu tecnica iper fina
